DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS BOUTIQUE! Customer service is lacking and follow through is non existent! I was in an August wedding and the bride instructed us to purchase our bridesmaid dresses from Dreams Boutique. The issues with this boutique began from the start and continued to escalate!!!! VERY long story however...my bridesmaid dress arrived at my house 3 days before the wedding and I never received a phone call from the boutique about the DELAYED dress. I have now been speaking with them for over 5 weeks about a payment dispute and never once, have I been able to reach the owner. The customer service and follow up at the boutique is AWFUL and I would strongly recommend using another bridal store. read more

If you find a dress you love and can buy it and take it home right away, go for it, however... My daughter had spent weeks looking for a Prom Dress and was so happy to find the one she wanted here. It was a bit large so we paid extra to have it taken in. When we got home, my daughter looked up the shop online and traced it back to the owner, her earlier shops and pages of bad feedback on customer service. We were worried about obtaining her dress, but I said let's give them the benefit of the doubt and wait and see. When it came time to pick up the dress, we went, it was ready and fit perfectly! The only issue was that it was missing the clasp side for the hook on the back - not sure if it was like that earlier. The woman who helped us said not to worry, that it would be fixed when they steamed the dress. Since my daughter was worried about getting the dress in time for her Prom, I asked if they could do it as soon as possible. The woman said it would be ready the following Monday, any time. I went on that Monday and it wasn't ready. The owner said that it was at the dry cleaners and that she hadn't had a chance to pick it up, but if I came after 3 pm, it would be ready. I waited until the next day. When the dress was brought to me, I noticed a yellow post-it on the dress bag that said "Steam Clean" prompting me to look closely at the dress. It did NOT look steamed at all and the hook clasp was still missing. The girl who helped me wouldn't talk to me about it, she said she had to call the manager. When she did, she handed me the phone and the manager said something like "Sometimes when we steam clothes, it's hard to tell." and "If you wanted a hook on the dress, you should have told us.". When I tried to tell her that it was missing the clasp and that the clerk who helped us last said that it would be taken care of, she became indignant and said "Listen to me!". ' At that point, I said, "Forget it, I'll take care of it.", hung up, grabbed the dress and left, happy to get the dress home. read more

DON'T SHOP HERE. My experience was horrible, and in fact the most stressful part of my wedding planning. Fortunately I only ordered bridesmaids dresses from here, and not my bridal gown, or it might have been worse. My wedding was in October 2010. We had to call several times to get the dresses actually ordered, and all of my bridesmaids said they did not feel confident in the staff, but we were hoping for the best... Dreams Boutique (or Nightmares Boutique, but whatever...) says the dresses are shipped from the manufacturer on August 7. The dresses were evidently manufactured on Mars, because they do not arrive until September 1. (During this time, my bridesmads and I repeatedly call the store with very little to no response. Promises of calling the manufacturer to check and "we'll call you right back in 10-15 minutes" or "we'll call you tomorow" are loads of crap.) Anyway, September 1 (a Wednesday), the dresses arrive at Dreams Boutique. I say "ship them today". They agree to do so, and charge my credit card for the shipping that day. The owner says you all should have them by "the end of the week" (I had three out of town bridesmaids they needed to ship to). One bridesmaid goes to pick up her dress on Friday. She arrives at the location (this was when the store was in Springfield, VA) we ordered the dresses from and it has disappeared. No signs, no nothing. She calls and they basically say "oh, we moved locations, did we not mention that?" On September 4 ("the end of the week", when the out of town maids should have received their dresses), another bridesmaid and I go to the new location of the store to pick up her dress. I wasn't sure if the first maid had been in that day to pick up hers, so I ask the girl helping us. She goes to check and comes out with three dresses. The three out of town dresses that should have already been shipped. She, quite proudly, says "it looks like one picked hers up". I stare at her for a moment and say "that's just fabulous, but those three dresses in your hand should be in New England right now." I explain they should have been shipped three days ago, according to the owner (who was up at the front of the store at this moment). She apologizes and says she'll ship them that day. I, stupidly, believe her. A week and a half later, a couple of my out of towners casually ask "so any word on dresses?" I call the store about 10 times and get their voicemail every time. So Tuesday, September 14, I just go to the store and ask where the dresses are. Girl working says she doesn't see them, but that the girl who was supposed to ship them has since been fired. She hypothesizes that the dresses may be in the owner's office. I ask her to check. She says she can't, because the office is locked, the owner is out all week because her father died, and she doesn't have a key. I say "I sympathize, but first of all, that happened after the dresses were supposed to be shipped - TWICE - and when will she be back?" The girl says "Saturday." So Sept 18, I go into the store and ask for the dresses. The owner is in the back, and I can hear her talking to the girl who went back to get them. She brings them out and says "you said you were picking them up, but aren't we shipping them?" I say "you would think, but instead I was told you were shipping them twice over the last two weeks and it never happened, so now I'm taking them and mailing them myself." She says "but we already charged your credit card." I say "yes and now you're going to refund my credit card and give me the dresses." She says "ok the owner said we could do that and she apologizes." I say "okay, give me the dresses." So I took them and mailed them myself, and of course never got the shipping refunded to my credit card. And it looks like now the store has moved again from Lorton to Dumfries. This place is SHADY. Avoid it like the plague. read more

Monica G said it perfectly. If you find the dress and love it - then buy it and run out of this store as fast you can. I never write reviews but this place has angered me so much that I had to say something. I just brought my wedding dress home from Dreams aka Nightmare Boutique despite not being pleased with the alternations. I have to say that when I was in the store - other people came in, picked up their dresses and were very pleased. If the store gets it right, you are good to go, but if not, you are in for a trip from hell. When I initially tried on my dress, I thought it was very odd that they don't help you in the dressing room or have any dress clips to see the fit of the dress. That aside, I found a dress I loved and went ahead with a purchase. Despite my objections, they ordered a dress size for me without taking my measurements. 1st Fitting - Once my dress came in, I tried on the dress and it was huge on me. The woman, Natalie, then proceeded to tell me that with wedding stress I'm bound to gain some weight to fit in the dress. WHAT BRIDE EVER WANTS TO HEAR THAT?! Plus this would have to be about 15lbs in 6 weeks time.. After pinning me in numerous places, the dress did seem to have a good fit. Since I am getting married on a beach I was advised to have my hem to touch the floor. After some discussion, we agreed to have the dress about 1/2 inch longer than first discussed. OK - good to go, right? 2nd Fitting - Well I'm finally fitting into the dress up top and the sides - this was actually really well done. The hem, however, seemed way too short. I noticed this from the beginning. As soon as I questioned it, the owner, Quanetta, became defensive and indicated that the hem was where we agreed to have it. She had plenty of other excuses - the material, it needs to be steamed, bla bla bla. 3rd Fitting - A friend came with me to help - my bustle was now missing a string and the dress was still too short. I mentioned that I wanted the seamstress to see me in the dress (not a far-fetched request). I could be flexible with my schedule and come in whenever the seamstress was available. After calling Quanetta- she again became very argumentative and said there is no way that the seamstress could come in. She indicated that once again, they did what I said. Not true!!! 4th Fitting - Still frustrated and arguing with the owner. You cannot get anywhere with her and she will become very defensive and tell you that she did exactly what was asked. She told me that I was changing my mind and essentially that my request was unreasonable. In the end, I walked out the store very unhappy and sad with the state of my dress. The hem is uneven and just messy. I checked out the reviews of this place before and I was hesitant b/c they were all over the place. Yes, Quanetta is very nice at first; she even seems to go out of her way at times. However, the moment you question how something is done or you don't like it - Quanetta will become a nightmare. I am absolutely shocked that this store is on The Knot's Best of 2011 list. read more

After reading about a bridal store in another state shutting it's doors on it's brides, some of which never even received their dresses, it made me think back to my own wedding and the hell that was Dreams Bridal Boutique, or apparently now just Dreams Boutique. Luckily for me, I only ordered my bridesmaids dresses from there, so it perhaps wasn't as hellish as it could have been. First, the $25 try-on fee. Seriously??? Luckily for me, the owner decided to let it slide since I had 3 of my 7 bridesmaids there. I purposely picked a particular designer because they advertised they didn't have a surcharge for plus size dresses, which I had 2 of in my bridal party. I had already picked the dress I wanted, so really I was just having the bridesmaids try on that one dress, plus 2-3 others just to be sure. The owner indicated that my other bridesmaids who were out of state could be measured elsewhere and call in their measurements. A few hours after we left the store, one of my bridesmaids called me to tell me the owner charged her extra for her dress because it was a plus size. So I called right away and after sitting on hold for quite awhile, I finally was allowed to speak to her. Let me just preface this by saying I have never experienced such a roller coaster of emotions from one person ever. When I asked about the extra charge, she said she had to charge it because it was a plus size. I told her I picked the designer because they indicated on their website that they did not require an additional charge. At first she tried to lie to me and said they did, so I told her I would do a print screen and show her where they said they did not, I would also call the designer personally, and I would come back to her shop and show her where it said they did not. She then explained it was her shop policy. How in the heck could it be a shop policy??? It's not as if Dreams Bridal was supplying the factory with the fabric and seamstresses. She then began to verbally abuse me, yell at me, even curse at me. I told her I wanted her to cancel my order and I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau, which I had also looked up in the meantime and found several complaints against her. She hung up on me, only to call me back an hour later apologizing for her behavior. I was glad for the apology, but SERIOUSLY???? She refunded the money to my bridesmaid and against my better judgement I kept with the order, which came late, big surprise right? The dresses were as promised in terms of the colors and sizes being right. The owner had the gall to ask me to send her pictures of my bridesmaids in their dresses for her to put on her website. There was a better chance of hell freezing over before I would ever do anything to help that woman. If you decide to throw caution to the wind and go to this store for your wedding needs, also pay attention to this. I was married in July 2010. Just before our wedding, the store in Springfield up and moved one night to the Lorton Station/Lorton Market area. It was pretty much over night and there were never any signs posted about it and I would know because I passed that location frequently. It wasn't until a few weeks later I saw it in Lorton Station. And now it is apparently in Dumfries. Three locations in 2 years....seem sketchy enough to you??? Find another bridal boutique, there are plenty in the Northern VA area, don't waste your time, money, or sanity on this woman. read more
