She taught my matron of honor and I so many tips and skills to putting on and taking off my dress, as well as how to walk up and down stairs and bustle. At the first appt for alterations, she let me tell her what I thought needed to be fixed first before offering her suggestions. She did this bc something she might see as an issue might not even bother me. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm very happy with the outcome. She made me feel like a queen in my dress and I cannot wait to show it off on my wedding day. *Parking: There's plenty of parking out front, and more in the lot across front the store. It is a very busy lot, and sometimes drivers from the Starbucks drive through gets stuck trying to leave. I had the most wonderful experience! Tangs was recommended to me by a close friend, and others have recommended Tangs as well. Im a bride to be, and I'm the kind of woman that hates trying on clothes. My maid of honor set up an appointment anyway. We arrived to Tangs with my mother, daughter, and my good friend Tiffany (who put tangs on my radar). Lisa was to be my stylist. When Lisa saw Tiffany, she gave her a huge hug! As she had helped her years before to find her perfect dress. I knew I was in good hands Lisa asked alot of questions, but nailed what I wanted instantly. She really listens. The first dress she picked out for me, is the one we all fell in love with. I tried on other dresses, but her first pick....WAS THE ONE! You'd never guess this charming bridal shop is tucked away off Sudley--it blends right in with the surrounding homes. I found Tang's through word of mouth. I browsed their website, selected a few dresses that caught my eye, and made a reservation. The shop itself is beautiful, inside and out--bright, clean, and welcoming. While I was hoping for a glass of bubbly like in the movies, we were only offered water here. I tried on about five dresses in total; a few of my picks were too big and would have required significant alterations. Still, the overall experience was smooth and well-organized, and my stylist was incredibly professional. Tip: Parking is around the back of the shop. read more

Do NOT recommend!!! Be cautious with the "hyped reviews" on business/services. Our daughter, as the bride, was given this Tang location and we went ~ NEVER again. Tang, the owner, caused a lot of unnecessary stress throughout the process for our other daughter as well, who had her dress altered, as the MOH. Frankly, 3 dresses were altered by this location. Tang "produced more stress" with her actions/behavior while there. Tang's method during the session was that she walked away and continued to - yell out to the time - to my daughter, MOH, for her to work to bustle her sister, the Brides dress. She had already wanted it do it correctly and instead ended up in tears. Tang had a smirk, as she apologized but her constant behavior/teasing to prepare her for a stressful situation was unprofessional. The process was stressful enough and they knew how (as it was their profession ). Making the process easier and to help others through the process of handling the dress (or whatever) and understanding the "stress" the day brings is suggested. My daughter was so tearful she had to leave the alteration business and go to the car to calm down. Tang's behaviors, as a business owner, was totally inexcusable. I later called the business, in advance, to drive over an hour, one way, to pick up all 3 dress upon completion. I was advised on the phone that they were all ready and I could get the 3 dresses. When I arrived the dresses had NOT been steamed/ironed out and absolutely full of wrinkles. I could not believe a business would represent their work like that after paying them a lot of $. I was informed by Tang that was a "courtesy " and I ensured before leaving with the wrinkled garments they were better condition (as expected) prior to leaving the business. Thankfully I only paid 1/2 the balance. I would always recommend especially at this place. Be Aware.. we will definitely NOT go to this business and will share our experience. read more

**This is a review from MY personal experience with this establishment. Please use this as a reference and try their services out for yourself.** I was in need of alterations for a suit I had but only worn twice. I wanted to make it snazzy for a wedding I was attending. I searched Yelp and Google and found Tangs within Manassas, which was pretty close to my house. Judging by the reviews, I knew I would be in luck!! I came in about two weeks in advance (11 days to be exact) to have everything done. The seamstress took my measurements and made the configurations to my suit, and when finished, I paid the full total. Seeing that they were a reputable company, I didn't have an issue with doing so. It was a simple process. They advised that my suit was good to go and would be ready in a week, to be exact. I left there excited to see how it would turn out! Fast forward to 6 days later... I get a call late in the afternoon by an employee who advises that in order to have my suit configured, I would have to have my pants laundered. My face went from a big smile to a stern pissed look. I was so confused why I wasn't given this IMPORTANT info beforehand and especially since I paid for the service in full! I had my newborn with me, who I was just about to feed, and I get this call that says my suit isn't ready. The wedding was in 4 days. I had to drive to pick up the suit from Tangs and find a reputable place for dry cleaning before closing, and take it there only to have to come back the following day, get re-sized, and wait another day to be completed. I'm still livid just thinking about it. I've never had issues not having alterations done all because the suit isn't laundered. In fact I rather get it laundered after the fact because I can keep it sealed and clean until I actually put it on! If this were an actual wedding timeline for anyone else, I know they would freak out for the short notice given. Don't get me wrong, their service when speaking to you was great, but mishaps like this is unacceptable for anyone. Tang is a magically seamstress, I swear. My dress came in 2 months late from the boutique that I got it from. I needed so much done within 9 days. Other seamstress that I called, said they couldn't do it and what I needed done was about a months work. I called Tang and they got me in next day. I would like to share my bad experience at Tangs in hopes it helps another bride. I went to Tangs for alterations on a custom Etsy wedding dress I had purchased. It was from a popular seller, with hundreds of reviews, but yet unfortunately did not come out the way I had hoped. Despite using my personal measurements (which I know were used due to me designing and tweaking multiple aspects of the dress), the fit was off. Thus, prior to my first visit at Tangs, I knew the dress was going to need quite a bit of work if I wanted to wear it. At my first appointment, upon trying on the dress, Tang was borderline aggressive in trying to get me to admit my dress was not custom made, stating "there wouldn't be sizing issues if it were". I told her again it was in fact, custom made, yet she still continued to push back. I believe in her head "custom" meant "couture", which is a distinction you would think a seamstress would be able to understand. As someone already overwhelmed with the situation (my dress not coming the way I had hoped), she really was NOT helpful in choosing to essentially call me a liar when I was in fact telling her accurately the situation. Only then when I started crying out of frustration of being called a liar did she drop this topic. She then made an extended analogy saying I couldn't give her pot roast and expect her to make a steak out of it. I was not ignorant, I had already acknowledged that I understood there was a chance we might not be able to salvage the dress to be what I wanted. I had realistic expectations, however, at multiple points (including her beef analogy) her manner and delivery of speaking was completely out of line. In the end after several appointments, I decided to scrap the dress and bought elsewhere. I then had the most incredible experience at another Manassas bridal seamstress, who knew how to speak respectfully and reassuringly (while also having much better quality of work in my opinion). But in all, would not recommend for any bride to bring her dress here. read more

My wedding dress wouldn't have been the hit it was without Tang's. I was met with care, compassion, professional knowledge, reassurance, and a lot of laughs. I was super nervous because my dress needed to be brought in a lot and I was worried about certain areas holding up. It took a few fittings and the owner herself, Tang, made me dress more than perfect. My dress fit me as if it was made just for me. Tang worked magic into turning a beautiful dress into a gorgeous gown. I felt like a princess. She even found a perfect corset bra that could be sewn in to reassure everything would stay put. It worked wonders! My dress ended up fitting me beautifully, she took care of every single detail imaginable, and made me laugh when I felt overwhelmed. I left smiling and excited. I owe Tang everything!!!!!!!!! She did an absolutely fabulous job on altering my bridal dress for my big day, and truly saved the disaster that was my dress. I purchased this back in PA, and had the worst customer experience in addition to getting a dress that I absolutely did not want. I was expecting a dress that had a consistent color throughout - not one that had a top that was significantly darker than the bottom. Tang was extremely prompt, thorough, and her work is super high quality for the price. We worked together to find a solution, and I managed to find an accessory belt to help the illusion between the mismatched top and bottom. The day I received the finished dress, it fitted PERFECTLY and for the first time - it felt like MY DRESS! I also appreciated that she let me record a video of her showing how to create the bustle behind my dress, for my bridesmaids to view. I went to Tang's in July to get my wedding dress tailored and picked it up October 5 - just a week before my wedding. (FYI, their appointments fill up FAST!!) I felt so beautiful in my gown and I loved the fit. I've never had anything tailored before and I felt like a princess on my big day! I got so many compliments and I really can't wait to see the photos. I did experience two issues at Tang's, though. The first is that the bustle they added to my dress was really weak. The clasps they used for the bustle barely made it through 30 minutes before unclasping. I got re-bustled several times during the wedding reception before changing into a different dress. The other issue was that there were still sewing pins in my dress when I picked it up before the wedding. I did try the dress on at Tang's before I left with the dress and didn't notice. Looks like the pins were still holding up the hem. I only noticed the pins when I was taking my bridal portraits right before the first look. Me, my photographer, and my maid of honor pulled out maybe 10 pins from the hem of the dress right then and there - at the venue, during photos, just before I was about to see my husband for the first time on our wedding day.
