What an amazing salon! The salon itself was lovely, there are two sides and I was on one side to myself with my party. The other side had two dressing rooms for brides. My stylist, Serki, was incredible, I was so disheartened after checking out another shop the day before and was worried my points weren't getting across. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and the first two dresses she pulled were on the right track, but she took my comments into account and pulled my dress for me on her third try! It was a really lovely experience, we may have been there on a slow day but she let us take lots of pictures and FaceTime my wedding party. She was also great with helping me try on some different accessories and decide on the style of veil I wanted! I was worried about trying what I thought was a smaller boutique but they had an amazing selection, and I was impressed with them trying to help me stay in budget and buying my dress off the rack! Marie was THE BEST!!!! She was absolutely incredible at listening to what I was looking for. Each dress was an iteration of exactly what I wanted to try on, and then she continued to listen and bring additional dresses to try on that fit what I was desiring. Not only was she great at her job and knew her inventory like the back of her hand, but she was also SO complimentary! It made the experience such an uplifting one and made me want to invite her to my wedding to be my hype woman. She also was so accommodating with my group and treated them like they were her special people, too. The first time I went, I left feeling like I was on such a high, and then ended up coming back to Marie at Global Bridal to buy a different dress (that they thankfully had in stock to try on) because I wanted to support her and felt even more confident buying the dress from her. First time trying on dressing and I really didn't know what to expect. For Global Bridal, it was a rushed process. The place is on the smaller side with an older feel to it. They started out behind schedule but let me go over my time, so it worked out. For a first timer, I wouldn't suggest going here just because of the "bridal experience". It lacks in accessibility to dresses, everything was crammed so it was hard to get a good look at dresses. The dressing rooms are small so if it's more then two dresses, you and your stylist barely have room to admirer yourself before stepping out. No robe to cover yourself in between dresses, no hair ties or things you may need to help find your dream dress. I did LOVE the people that helped me find dresses and they did have some pretty dresses there. For the "bridal experience" I wouldn't go here FIRST but its worth checking out for pricing and you've looked elsewhere. read more

There aren't enough wonderful things I could say about my experience with Marie & Serki!! I live in San Diego but was in VA for a work conference. I didn't love any of the dresses I had tried back home, so I thought I'd take a shot at trying a few dresses during my lunch break! I called Global Bridal and they told me to come on in.. I rushed over to Global Bridal and Marie met me immediately with the dress I had inquired about and the most incredible amount of loving energy I'm still deeply appreciating 1 month later. I didn't love the dress I had picked, but Marie had already picked out 3 dresses for me to try.. every dress was more & more beautiful! I was sure the 2nd dress was the one, but Marie convinced me to try one more.. and my goodness, IT WAS PERFECT! There were so many dresses to chose from! Liz was AWESOME! She helped me find my dream dress. I had the most AMAZING experience with Global Bridal Gallery in Old Town Alexandria! Ms. Marie and her entire team were an extreme joy and pleasure to work with from start to finish! I worked with Global Bridal for several months when it came to selecting and making alterations to both my wedding gown and also my bridesmaids' gowns. When searching for my wedding gown, I had already had an image in my mind of how I wanted my gown to fit and look; however, Ms. Marie and her team introduced me to a Morilee wedding gown, and I completely fell in love. It was the second gown I tried on, and immediately I knew it was the one! Once Ms. Marie ordered the gown, we were not expecting it to arrive until a couple of months later, but destiny would have it that my gown arrived in less than two weeks, but of course I recommend selecting and ordering your wedding gown at least 6-7 months in advance, and give yourself even more time if you will need time to get your finances together. In addition, because I was so happy with my wedding gown, I also called on Ms. Marie to help me select my bridesmaids' dresses, which amazingly also ended up being a design by Morilee. Ms. Marie worked with me and my bridesmaids with our payments and was so patient and kind. Ms. Marie even took some of the burden off of me and helped to reduce my stress by offering to call and follow up with each bridesmaid to make sure that they ordered their dresses in time, came to try them on, etc. I was so grateful! I even ended up purchasing some gorgeous custom sleeves through one of their vendors to add to my dress, as well as my wedding earrings, veil, and headdress. Joy and Dina in alterations were so amazing with altering my gown and some of my bridesmaids' dresses. The day of my wedding (Sept. 2, 2023) was so beautiful and completely epic! We all looked so elegant and like an image out of a magazine or picture book. Everyone said that I looked like a princess, and I certainly felt like one! If I would go through this process all over again I would choose to select my gown and bridesmaids' dresses through Global Bridal! AHHH I literally couldn't be happier with all the ladies here! I just got married in June and bought my dress from them (Madison James 265). My whole experience with the ladies here was literally fantastic. We came in and Surki and her team had the best energy and were genuinely so excited for me. Having that feeling and support when you're looking for your dress is so important. They had me try on a bunch of dresses, which was so much fun, they were all so beautiful. I remember the moment when I tried on my dress and I literally cried I didn't want to take it off. I think everyone was crying because it was just so gorgeous. Global Bridal Gallery was a dream to work with. I found my dress with Marie, who was attentive, kind, and responsive to my feedback. She really put me at ease and let me control the direction we went in. She pulled a variety of dresses within my price point, which I really appreciated. I didn't wind up finding a dress during the first appointment. I actually wound up buying another dress at BHLDN, but when it arrived a couple weeks later, I was underwhelmed. So I returned that dress and thought of how great Marie was. So I came came with a printout of the BHLDN dress and literally the THIRD dress she put me in was *my* dress (Madison James 310 Ivory). Sometimes you need to embrace the process--and Marie got it. Then, when the dress arrived, I worked with the wonderful alterations team upstairs. Alterations were expensive, but they did make sure that everything was lumped into one price--I didn't feel like I was haggling to make the dress fit the way I wanted. The alterations team even attached a patch of my mother's dress into the lining of my dress for free. So all this to say, Global Bridal Gallery is where it's at. Unpleasant Experience - Like many young girls, my sister has been dreaming of her wedding since a very young age. We had a weekend planned to go shopping for the dress of her dreams, but our shopping experience fell extremely short at Global Bridal. We arrived promptly for the scheduled appointment, but we waited in an overcrowded room where we watched a handful of consultants rushing around tending to the three other brides sharing an open space. It most definitely was not an intimate experience; more chaotic and rushed. Approximately fifteen minutes after our scheduled start time, we met our Consultant and described the features we were looking to try. Our consultant seemed less than thrilled to be working, and just passed dresses to my sister through the door and then would go missing, while my sister had to wait for her to return to clip/pin the dress. When my sister came out of the very tiny dressing room, the consultant did not even attempt to "fluff" the dress to highlight the features - she just stood over to the side watching other people in the salon. Again, the experience was very disengaging, especially with our consultant. Ultimately, we felt like just a number in a crowded room; I've had more pleasant experiences trying on work clothes in a department store. Overall the visit was a disaster! My sister was actually very interested in a dress, but because our consultant was so inattentive, we chose to leave and look elsewhere where she ultimately purchased an almost identical dress at another local boutique. read more

Terrible system. For these bridal shops you have to make an appointment but even being 10 mins earlier we waited 45 mins before someone took us to the other door. The lady opening that other side of the store rolls her eyes because she is so busy and can't take anymore people. I quickly said "they sent us here and someone is coming in the back to meet us". First off, I am a petite bride. I'm 4'10 with a short torso and plumper bottom half. This was the second time I visited a bridal shop after a terrible and horrific experience at David's bridal. At David's bridal, I went through 15+ dresses without any advice on what would look good on me. I was also approached with the women looking at my body and making me feel uncomfortable with my body shape. At Global Bridal Gallery, I was assisted by Marie. Instantly she knew my size and what dresses would elongate me to look taller and more confident. I didn't buy my dress here but I came here to try on dresses for the first time. This place is wonderful and seriously affordable. I did not find "the" dress here. But my consultant was super helpful and definitely made me feel super beautiful. Only downfall was the space your using. You share it with multiple people so it's slightly awkward. I'll try on a dress and stand in the middle with a different group and my group. Not very intimate and not really great if the other group gives their opinions. After trying on nearly 100 dresses at other places, I came to Global Bridal Gallery grasping for hope. It was Feb 2020 and almost 6 months before my original wedding date. I knew I wanted a mermaid/trumpet silhouette and a sweetheart neckline to give the appearance of curves. Marie helped me try on several dresses that fit my criteria but they all fell flat. She decided to throw a curve ball and suggested a dress from the backroom that fit my description but had far more detail that I imagined. It was incredible! While my friend didn't find any winners here, she had the best "I'm a bride!" experience here. The shop is teeny tiny. And I do mean tiny. More than one bride trying on dresses here creates a total clusterf@#k. It got way crowded in here way fast. However, despite the crowdedness, we never felt even slightly rushed. Our assigned staffer kept pulling dresses, kept adding veils and flowers, etc. After some pretty dismal prior experiences, this was just the sort of experience my friend needed. To me, the staffer was a little overly enthusiastic to the point where it almost came across as false and annoying. But it was just what my friend needed. And for that I was grateful and appreciative. The tininess of the space is hard to get over. As well as the parking difficulty. But the staff are friendly, knowledgable, and non-pushy. read more
