Our upstairs bathroom sink flooded because the faucet was too short for the sink basin. Costing us a significant amnout of money. We have an email from the builder for a different home where they acknowledged that the faucets were the wrong clearance over the new sinks and replaced the faucets without the home owner requesting. We have emailed Drees and have not heard back. My home insurance company is hiring a lawyer. I would like someone to return my attempts to contact. We also reached out before the deadline for wall pops and didn't hear back. We've had a lot of trouble with our house in Thorntonwilde subdivision in Hebronky. Nail pops; which are common, but the amount and severity of these are ridiculous. They say that you have a warranty, but don't believe them. You'll run into to one person that blocks you when you call or email when you're trying to contact them, and she'll just tell you that your warranty is up. No getting past that. And the icing on top was taking a shower and having the big tiles installed on the bench of your walk in shower FALL OFF THE SIDE. They sent someone out who told us that he's never seen anything like that. We told him that we've never seen anything like that either and this is just a 3-year-old house. They did nothing, and they never called back. They responded to BBB that they did not see a problem when they came here! I sent them photos! It's hard not to deal with them because they brought up a lot of property, so it makes it hard for Homeowner to build a house with quality. read more

We bought a Drees home, loved it, but resold it in favor of another Drees home. The second Drees purchase (within a few months of each other), has had a host of problems related to poor workmanship. We have water drainage issues around the driveway. The water's inability to drain and the lack of gravel beneath the driveway caused the cracking. Drees says that gravel beneath the driveway is unnecessary. The water pools back toward the house. Drees' landscaping subcontractor blamed the driveway contractor for not shooting the grade problem. Drees denies there's a driveway grade properly. The driveway also has an inconsistent mix of pea gravel--so it has a patchy look. Drees Construction Manager says even though it's patchy and that more peagravel should have been used, it's "acceptable by their standards". You have to wonder what their standards are? They aren't the same standards you think your house is built to. The garage opening is warped on one side, where the brick line bows (warped). This can be seen with the naked eye and level shows it's not even close to plum. There's a lack of insulation in the attic, despite all the green energy talk by Drees. We've been advised by the government we can ask for an energy credit appeal since Drees maintains a certain level of energy efficiency (or Drees says it's homes are a certain level of green certified). We've many, many issues caused by poor workmanship and a lack of attention to subcontractor detail during the construction phase. If Drees can slap a coat of paint or caulk something, they'll do it. But they will not stand behind structural issues (like my warped garage opening) or a driveway that is sinking and cracking with each rain. The back patio also lacks a proper grade, causing water to stand. If you use Drees to build a home, make sure you are there to see what they're doing after each subcontractor. You can't assume that they supervised their subcontractors properly. Otherwise, just take their floor plans to another builder and they'll do a much better job of building your home! Drees sometimes makes great homes, but other times they make a mess you must live with forever. read more

This is regards to their warranty department located in Ft Mitchell, KY... We purchased our home, built by Drees, that is/was 7 years old at the time of closing. While we overall love our house and the layout, we have had two MAJOR issues. The first being a huge drainage issue in our backyard, that was unbeknownst to us, since we only the saw the house once before closing (moved from out of state) and it was not raining when we saw the house. We cut our losses and had it fixed but seriously, I'm shocked the previous owners never got this taken care of, or maybe Drees told them it wasn't their issue? The second has been a HUGE battle with Drees (see pictures). We noticed some very visible rotting on our porch posts and hired a contractor to fix it. We assumed, along with two contractors, that this was just a cosmetic issue. When the porch posts were mid-demo, we discovered there were NO support beams holding up the porch. Just cheap, extremely rotted wood holding up our porch. We called Drees right away, and they were very quick to respond, and made right by what we paid to have an outside contractor fix two of our posts and said they would take care of the other two. 2.5 months later our porch still isn't fixed. It's an ugly mess. The contractor they hired to take care of this issue, the other two porch posts, has been extremely incompetent and uncommunicative. Overall, the entire ordeal has been so unprofessional. What's disappointing is that if they had built the porch up to code the right way from the beginning, none of this would have happened. So, buyer beware! I can't speak for the build process but dealing with the structural builders warranty has been an absolute nightmare... read more

Saw an advert for Drees townhomes from $182K. Went to see one and were informed that they actually start above $200K. We found one we liked, and put down $5K. It had just become available when the previous buyer couldn't get financing. So the sales agent gave us the price it was going to sale at and we would be able to close immediately. After waiting all day for the sales contract, we were notified that the price had gone up $20,000. Imagine that, a 10% increase in just a few hours! We'll have to walk away, unless Dress does the right thing. read more

I will first say that I'm pleased with the house itself. We have had issues but they were eventually taken care of. Felt like pulling teeth sometimes but they were fixed. Our issue is with our lot. When we chose it the lot was flat. No one explained that the lot was going to be nothing but hills when they finished. We were already to far in to back out so we dealt with it. We receive all water from 3 sides of our yard, so we are basically the collecting point for everything above us. We had the lot sodded the minimum and seeded the rest. Well the seed never took on the hills. It just washed away. Because of the yard eroding away because of the volume of water that comes through when it rains, they sodded the rest except for two long strips. They told us they didn't know why they didn't sod all of it, but that they were out of sod and we would have to wait until spring for it. They offered to seed again and swore to us that it would work and if it didn't they would sod in the spring. Well spring is here and now they say they are not doing any more. I'm now the proud owner of a patch quilt lawn with nothing taking hold in the seeded areas except wonderful crab grass. Since they feel my lawn is fine, I wonder why all their models don't look like mine. Probably because it's not fine, it looks horrible but they just could care less.
