The space is bright, welcoming and decked out with artwork. It's an amazing venue which continuously brings the arts and cultural events to the community. Our neighbor goes here regularly for jazz performances so the events span across all interests and genres. There's parking in the back which is extremely helpful. Speaking of extremely helpful, the staff is extremely friendly, engaged and happy to provide help, support or direction. We'll definitely be back to experience and appreciate all that the Flushing Town Hall has to offer.

I would guestimate the hall holds about 150 - 200 people with a decent amount of room to spare. All took a back seat though to the cigars and shenanigans. A very nice night out. They really enjoy this! I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. I could see the stage very well, and my seat was very comfortable. The restrooms were centrally located. No waiting. Very tidy. I enjoyed the snack bar and merchandise tables so much. How wonderful we were able to enjoy lovely teaching a meditation from Gen-la Dekyong. She is a no deed none in the Kadampa Modern Buddhism Tradition. She is like the pope of this Buddhist tradition and she's a woman. She's a gentle woman, and she really shares her vast knowledge as one of Geshle's original students in the UNITED kingdom 40 + years of practicing education, tourism . Fun and enlightening!! Such a wonderful evening. This teaching was called "a life without fear " & she gave such profound wisdom with us all. It was nice to see a souvenir on the wall. Pictures in frames of starts that recorders and performed here. Gorgeous!!! I would love to return again.

It's a straightforward theater so it's pretty easy to recognize where you need to go, but of course there is staff to help you to your seat anyway. The seats. The seats completely derail me everytime in these theaters. I'm sure there is not much that can be done as they want to keep their historical presence, but it's worse than an airplane seat. If you struggle to get comfortable in an airplane you'll surely struggle here. For a tall person, it's worse than an airplane seat, your knees WILL be in the person in front of you's neck, at least in the balcony. I am 5'8" and my legs were at an uncomfortable 45 degree angle with knees against the top of the seat in front of me. We are just built bigger than people were back then, and it makes those theaters really hard to get comfortable in. I was lucky enough to sit in the front row on my first visit, and that was much better when it comes to leg room. I didn't like the cocktail I got which was disappointing because it was $24!!!! It comes with a cute cup but it definitely wasn't worth it, I only had 3 sips. I think the bartender was heavy handed with the alcohol, which is a plus for some I guess. To be on the safe side and not waste your money, you might want to go with something that you know the taste of, like a beer or wine, but you'll still have to buy the cup (and you'll get $6 off the next pour). Overall it's a good experience, I've had a front row view and I've had a balcony view and both were great in terms of visibility.

It's located right near the Dobbs Ferry train station, with the option for paid or permit parking. There's a walking trail along with some beautiful views of the Hudson River and Tappan Zee Bridge.

Van Dyke Community Center at 392, Blake Ave is a great venue just a mile south and west of where…read morethe Jackie Robinson Freeway ends in Brooklyn. Currently this clean, open location is a hub for Covid vaccines for seniors. The staff is solid, the vast gym hall has spread out seating for safe and quick treatments. There are working water fountains and spotless restrooms. This was a safe and good experience today. There is a private parking lot adjacent to the building. Loved that there were 4 spots open when I pulled in today at 12:30 pm. The Community center has been a Voting location, hosted basketball tournaments, had naturalization ceremonies, seminars, health and exercise classes and social get togethers. A Universal center with multipurpose functionality!! I did not see anything closely resembling "Brownsville is the murder capital of New York" or "Brownsville has consistently held one of the highest poverty and crime rates of any neighborhood in New York City" today at or around this location or at the restaurant that served us a memorable meal a mile away. I just got another great taste of one of the five boroughs of the City that I love!!
