I went to Excel PT (formerly Apex) in Blue Bell, PA which I had gone to years ago when I had surgery on my knee. Nothing had changed except the name. The people that work there are fantastic! From the desk to the Therapists! They treat everyone special and give much support all their patients, no matter their problems. I was assigned to Angela Tate and Rachael who were both fantastic. My shoulder is back to normal and I left with information on how to keep everything moving perfect! I need that at 68 years of age. They gave me steps to take at home so when I was not there I could continue my progress to get better faster. Both Angela and Rachael kept close eye on my progress through out all the visits and I knew exactly what I needed to do to get better fast. I did drive farther going to this site, but it was well worth the time and effort and money.

I'm 28, so treatment is basically exercise (PT), and anti-inflammatory meds. I called requesting anti-inflammatory meds (first time since being diagnosed), before traveling when my joints exhibited the same symptoms that resulted in my original diagnosis. Dr. Keller said it was illegal to prescribe me the medication without seeing me again. Note, I offered to schedule an appointment for post my trip, and I was requesting anti-inflammatory meds, not opiods/narcotics. His office continued to refuse. Unacceptable treatment of a patient, which seems more geared towards earning an extra buck, and liability aversions, rather than honoring the hippocratic oath. Instead, I'm going to an urgent care to get the help I should be receiving from Dr. Keller.

Not only do they work so hard with you in the facility but they provide you with an at home regimen to make your care/recovery complete. In the beginning I was in real crisis - stopped work, couldn't walk around the block, sleep or really function at all for the first year before I was diagnosed. At that time they were very kind to me. There was one therapist I didn't want to work with as I was in intolerable pain during the session and for days afterwards, but I was fine working with the other three wonderful therapists. Then one left and another stopped coming in as much. I still felt very comfortable seeing the one who was still working and for the past year I've happily seen him for my sessions with no problem that I was aware of. Yesterday one of the owners (Kim) was in the office - I didn't recognize her so I guess she's not in much when I have been. I saw that the July schedule was open and asked if I could make my July appointments. She said that she wouldn't schedule me as I wasn't following their rules despite being "talked to about it before". Her tone was really rude. I haven't been talked to about it at all and thought it was fine for me to see the therapist I was comfortable with. No-one has ever mentioned an issue when I've made appointments before and staff are usually very pleasant. Kim sounded utterly disgusted with me and I guess wanted to be sure that I knew how she felt about me. It was a shock as I had no idea who she was and I don't think (?) I've spoken to her in the past couple of years. I'm still giving the practice 3 stars because I really do think they can be great, and I've seen good improvement on my health. I'm just really sad that she was so rude to me yesterday. Maybe she was having a bad day and wanted to flex her muscles at my expense? Kim has apparently given a conflicting version of what happened - but there was a young girl sitting at the front desk who must have heard most of it. I would say go to this practice and hope that you don't get on the wrong side of Kim. Now I am stopping PT cold turkey until I can find somewhere else to go. It's a disappointing end as I have recommended them so many times over the past two years. I still do, just with caveats. Kim can be seriously mean without warning and I was quite upset when I left.

The team here really goes above and beyond and always has each other's backs. I've been to other PT spots but this feels like a combined team effort, and with much brighter and sports-oriented facility. That said, it's a complete mix of demographics and ages of patients. So regardless of whether you're an 18 year old trying to get back in the game, or an 80 year old that just needs to regain their balance, this is a great place for you.

It's a slow process but she has been incredibly attentive and knows exactly how to push and properly manage the right exercises with hands on treatment.
