Employees were not wearing masks at the checkout and allowed multiple customers to enter without masks. As someone who has to interact with someone with a compromised immune system it was very disappointing that the inconvenience of putting on a mask was not worth it to protect my friend's life. read more

This place is the best gas station/grocery I've been to in a long time. The grocery area had almost anything you might want including local produce. The cashier was super friendly! Grandma was home! Or that's what it felt like! We were staying on the lake down the road and planned to head up to Mount Saint Helens. We stopped here for lunch, etc. As we were looking for options for our 2 teens who only eat seafood, no meat, the sweetest woman in the deli asked what they wanted. They said tuna sandwiches & she fixed them right up, made to order, just for them! Everything we bought in the deli was super tasty... From sandwiches to fried mushrooms! I recently took a long awaited road trip from SoCal all the way to Canada; one of the stops along the way was Mt. St. Helens. On the way there, stopped by Drew's to gas up and pick up a few groceries. Throughout this trip, Simon and Garfunkle's song: "America", kept resonating in my mind. At the Cash register, I was served by the nicest lady who proudly shared the fact that the establishment had been in business over 80 years and she was the wife of the current owner, warmth, helpfulness and simply a feeling of being back in a place and a time I recognized so much, knew as a child but sadly did not exist in my current environment. I think this is my first review of a convenience store / grocery store / gas station ever, but it's such a great place to stop that I gotta tell the world about it. :) I knew that the Spirit Lake Highway up to Mount St. Helens was a looong dead-end road, and I didn't expect there to be any services along the way, but a few miles from the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center (at the base of the mountain) - and much to my surprise - there's Drew's. Drew's is the kind of place that if you were to see it somewhere else, you'd probably keep driving, but there's something about the sign that says there's no gas past it that suggests you better stop. I stopped to grab something to drink for the long drive and much to my delight, there was a fountain soda machine so I got a big cup of ice with some soda splashed in. Make no mistake, Drew's is a grocery store so you can find pretty much anything you need, but it also offers a decent selection of fried grab-n-go grub (you'll be smelling it for miles after!) and what seems to be an unusually large ice cream treat selection. Knowing that there wouldn't be gas ahead inspired me to gas up before hitting the road again. Drew's could totally jack up the gas price because it *is* the only station for miles, but the prices were in line with what others were charging in more populated areas. Gotta respect that! Then there are the restrooms. Like any convenience store who's restrooms are "around the corner" outside, you'd expect them to be a little scary, but not here. There's just one, but it was noticeably clean. This was in keeping with the staff that I encountered, that they seem to care about their customers and yes, the customers appriciate a clean restroom. ;) I suspected that when I left Drew's and headed up the mountain that I'd be stopping back by on my way down, and I was right. Another soda and bathroom break got me back to civilization without incident. The truth is that a day of Mount St. Helens sightseeing will be a long one and that you'll want to have drinks and snacks on hand - and Drew's is the perfect place to stock up. It's convenient, the people are nice, there's a large selection of reasonably priced snacks to choose from, and, you know this long-established, small and probably family-owned operation that employs a few other locals, appreciates the business. My husband grew up in this area. He was showing me around when he decided we should stop in here for a soda, so I decided to go in with him to see if I could find a lil snack too. OMG they have what is actually the BEST "Chester's" / Coopers chicken deli counter style food I have EVER had. The potato logs are on point and seasoned perfectly, the chicken strips are devine. I now make him take me by there every time we go down to visit his parents. We were in there yesterday, and the people working in there are always SO nice!! Out of maybe 30 visits to this location, I have NEVER had any sort of complaint at all about anything. If you are going to Mt.St. Helen's or anywhere near there stop in and see for yourself. read more

This small town store is your last chance for gasoline before heading up the Spirit Lake Highway on your travels to Mount Saint Helens. friendly grocery store clerks, excellent ownership, and a deli that serves fresh food, fresh pizza, and Popeyes chicken! This was a 5-star food joint, but just got there $6 burger and they changed the patties! They had the best made, best tasting burgers for 40 miles, but going to "school lunch" burger patties was a big fail. Love the store and the owners, but this wasn't the best place to cut costs. read more

the last good store before you start the drive to mt st Helens, there are other places along the way, but this place has everything, even vhs movie rentals. the jojos are awesome, got a two piece chicken meal with a breast leg and 3 jo's for only $3.49 and a large soda for 99 cents. very hot, couldn't eat it till I got to the coldwater lake boat launch. great place to stop for your last minute need before st helens read more
