My older 9 year old Morkie is an anxious pup who doesn't trust anyone but me and my husband. Especially after Covid when I started grooming him myself- he needed to get back into the groove with the process. Shelby, the groomer here, was so kind, patient, and gentle with him. She took time with him and he went slow- made sure to understand his needs. And she was great at communicating with me as well. She did an incredible job and when I picked up he was the happiest most dapper little furbaby. I could tell him had an amazing experience. Since he's been home, he's playful and energetic! This is how I know I found a really great place. We did not have such a great experience at another grooming spa unfortunately where he was left traumatized for days. My second pup, 6 month old Maltese, also had an amazing experience. This was her first time groom ever, (aside from my occasional nail cutting, brushing, trimming, at home) and Shelby was so great with her as well! She did an "intro" package for just the head, nails, and tail to ease her into the process. Both pups look freaking adorable and I was just so delighted to see them so happy when we picked them up. My dog, Jet, has…read morebeen coming to Bark & Zoom for 7 years, practically since they opened, and we couldn't be happier. There are so many positives to highlight. First, I really appreciate the rotating play and rest schedule that Taurus/Bark & Zoom uses, which differs from other facilities in the area. It's been a fantastic fit for Jet, especially when he was younger and would be tired but had a bit of FOMO when other dogs were playing and wouldn't know when to rest. At other facilities without this structure, he'd end up overtired and overstimulated from hours of endless play with 25 other dogs and poor trainer/dog ratios leaving minimal staff supervision. Bark & Zoom's approach (focus on temperament and smaller groups) has been a much better fit and Jet has thrived in this environment comparatively. The staff here has always been wonderful and so loving toward Jet as well. Years ago, there was a team gathering at Yardbar where Jet ran right up to the staff, thrilled to see them, and they immediately recognized and showered him with affection. Interactions like this validate the level of positive care he receives across several services including board-and-train, daycare, or boarding. Aside from great care, the convenience of their 24-hour model right by the airport is seriously unbeatable. As someone in the aviation industry, the flexibility to drop off and pick up at unconventional hours has been a lifesaver. I'm so grateful to Bark & Zoom for accommodating my unpredictable schedule time and time again throughout all of these years. This past year has been challenging as Jet battles lymphoma. He's experienced multiple remissions and relapses, and as he slows down and needs more care, the staff has been wonderfully supportive, bringing comfort to me on days when I can't be with him. There are SO many wonderful people here, but I'd like to give a special shoutout to Jess and Mackenzie. They've known Jet since before their well-deserved promotions and have always treated him like family. I appreciate y'all (and everyone) so much!

The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and just overall attuned to all the things that come with managing an incredibly busy boarding/training facility. Anything my pups need, they get! I simply can't express my gratitude and love for this group of people; I life would spin off its axis without them! They did a wonderful job cutting her coat in the summer and took good care of her nails and teeth. Our little Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound although small is a little more "fiesty". Haute Dog knows how to love on him and ease his fears. This Saturday he came back clean and shiny with clean teeth and trim nails. I was anxious to take them to a new vet and this was their first car ride since the move (cats and flying :/). My boys did great and everyone from the front desk, to the vet tech, and Dr. Kemnitz were so warm and welcoming. They were thorough in their care, weren't rushed, and listened to all my concerns. I appreciated that Dr. Kemnitz's style was more conservative and avoiding tests and traumatizing my boys if it wasn't necessary. I'm happy to say that I've found a new vet here in Austin and highly recommend!

While they were good, it was a huge mistake. Even though she knows we're pulling up to the vet and freaks out, when you get in, at least they have confined spaces and extra hands to help handle the dog. They now have an exam room with an entrance from the front of the building. We managed to work it out such that the room was available when we pulled up and didn't have to go sit in the lobby waiting for a room. That said, there were still two trips through the lobby to weigh and then for her exam and shots. Dr. Kemnitz is a practical vet and I've been pleased with his work. God rest Dr. Holcomb.

The first time I gave them a pass and because the owner first hand handled getting my dog to an emergency vet to get staples - I gave them a second chance. Now the same dog has come back from boarding needing stitches above his eye with ZERO explanation or acknowledgement from any of the staff. The staff is not trained and should not be handling peoples pets. My beautiful husky now has a permanent scar above his eye and the staff had no idea how it happened and never got him treatment so I had to take him to my vet and pay to get him stitched. I'm appalled at the lack of care these kids are giving the dogs in their care.

This is located on Lohmann''s Spurr Crossing in Lakeway. Just so not everyone understands that it used to be Sydnee's pet salon and that's where the confusion went is the directions that was given to me. So after finding this location I was very happy to trust the nail technician to my adorable dog. Titus was nervous first but was calmly happy to see me at the end the nail trimming took about 10 minutes and it was very reasonable to pay plus I gave a nice tip. I am so grateful because my dog's nails were getting too long and now I found a place that I can trust with my dog.

Lots of room for them to play with other dogs and run around, inside and outside facilities to accommodate cold or heat, and they get to play most of the day apart from when they are closed for lunch ("nap time") or in the evening after 7pm. My only improvement recommendation is if they would consider doing a report card with photos each day, that would be awesome! I was able to text in and ask about the status of my dog though, and they were very responsive. We will be back!!! Had a great first visit and my dog was very excited when we reached the property, she recognized it from her evaluation day and basically ran over to the front door. I trust them wholeheartedly to take care of Riggins, as well as have recommended multiple friends to use their service. Additionally they have been so helpful managing him when I've had to send him in a cone, with medicine, or when I've needed to make last minute changes. He's also a regular in the after hours pick up / drop off rooms due to my travel schedule and I've never had any issue. As a solo dog mom Barking Springs is truly next in line of people I trust with him behind me.

The owner said she had "a little matting in her ears". She has nice textured hair that has never been prone to matting, so have to believe with a little extra care this "little matting" could have been handled with trimming and combing. It will be months before my fur baby gets her cute ShiTzu looks back!
