We have been taking our 2 dogs to Haute Dog Pet Spa for several years. Our 15 yo German Shepard/Husky passed away in October but they always took great care of the big gal. They did a wonderful job cutting her coat in the summer and took good care of her nails and teeth. Our little Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound although small is a little more "fiesty". My baby, Gracie, has super fine (think cotton candy) fur that mats when you just look at her! When it got cold recently, I put a sweater on her. She looked darling! Major problem, though. When I took it off after a few days of cold, her fur was crazy matted. I feared the groomers were going to need to shave her down. Enter, Cheri and Alejandra. As it is coming winter, these two sweet gals worked and dematted Gracie so we could keep her beautiful fur for winter! TORTURE !!! 1, The disaster happened yesterday 6/17/2023; we send our SKY( 1 year old golden doodle girl)for "FULL SERVICE DOG GROOMING"; 2, this is very important that we booked services for GROOMING, NOT shaving!!!!!! and we told the groomer at the store we want haircut, grooming, and NOT too short!!! 3, after 3.5 hours, we find out our dog being shaved completely!!! No one told us anything before she got shaved!!!! We feel she was no longer looks like our dog!!! We were sooo depressed!!! Our daughter was crying and says: this is not my SKY !!! SKY was so uncomfortable, unhappy, unstable (I will put her before&after pictures here, it is so hard to look at); 4, the worst part was: when we talked to the groomer or manager on the phone, she was blaming everything to my wife and our dog!!! This was so disgusting!!! 5, She said: oh your dog was matted, so we have to shave her!!! This was a completely lie!!! SKY got her groomed ( bath and haircut )at this store in March, and we brushes her everyday every time after she went outside; we gave her showers at least 1-2 times a month; we have pictures show SKY was never matted!!! 6, and she said: oh I told your wife we have to shave her! Another lie into my face!!!!!! I was sitting in the store while my wife talking to the groomer at the beginning, I never heard she said we have to shave the dog!!! We went there and spent $133 NOT for a shaving!!!!!!! 7, I put the time line here, and before/ after pictures to warning all customers of this place!!! You have to be very careful!!! 8, time line: 12:30pm we left SKY to the groomer; 3:10pm we checked with the store and they said not done; 4 pm we got message from the store notifying us to pick up; 9, additional information: we were here in March, the service and result was good, and this was the reason we comeback, and this is the same services and results we were expected!!! 10, warning: this place seems much dirtier than three months ago, hairs everywhere; seems too busy to offer any quality services!!! Sooooo happy to have found Sara and Haute Dog Pet Spa! When I first moved to Austin 7 years ago, I reluctantly took my fur baby to one of those big P named stores for grooming out of necessity. Actually kept going there because the first groomer and dog E became fast best friends. Well... E's bromance ended when the groomer left the store. The last time we took him there, it was very apparent the staff didn't give a poo about D.O.G.s. :( So, thanks to a little word of mouth, and good ol' Yelp again, called big P store and cancelled the same day and got in with HDPS. :) E is short-haired anyway, but we like to get him a high and tight buzz cut. Lol. Sara did the best job EVER on E. Sara, and the rest of the staff, really love pups of all kinds and took special care with almost 15 year old E. He even got to play and snuggle with other dogs while he was there. :D Very reasonable prices and he came home with an adorable hand -made holiday bow on. My handsome fellow! Now, if I can only get Sara to die his face back to black to take off some visual years. Haha! No, he's still and will always be the love of my life. I do not recommend taking your pets here. Made an appointment for 8am. We showed up on time and the doors were locked. There were two other people waiting outside. I waited for 20 minutes and left. We've only use the self service option, but this isn't the first time this type of incident has happened. In fact, this has been the third time. The hours of operation listed on their website and front window state their closing hour to be 6pm. Today, we showed up at 5:10 and waited while a customer made an appointment. When they were finished and we were next we were told they were closed. After asking for clarification, since this clearly conflicted with the stated hours there was no good answer. After pressing the issue I was told by the lady "I'm leaving" and that was it. I can understand if we walked in 10 minutes, maybe even 15 minutes before the stated hours. We walked in with almost an hour before closing. It takes me 15 minutes to wash and dry my dog. I overlooked it the first time, the second time I even tried to make excuses for them. Not this time, this time I'm sharing the experience. If you are going to dismiss customers who come in to use your services because you want to leave early, then state your "last call" on the website and window. Once it is public then all anyone can ask is that you do what you say. If you value your time like I do, then I recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

This time we asked to get a doodle cut with a poof/afro left on the top of her head (also showed pictures), and our pup came back completely shaved. She has red marks from razor cuts on her privates, and the team could not care less when I called to mention the poor quality. I don't think we have been notified our dog was ready once, even though they mentioned they would call us for pick up. Although this is probably the most convenient option for Steiner Ranch/Lakeway, the service isn't worth it anymore. It is a bit farther from my house, but haven't found a place the has as great of service and cost as Haute Dog. Pet Smart gave my dog a horrible razor burn rash that took 10 days to heal. Bow Wow charged $190 which is absurd for a grooming. I also always find it easy to make an appointment for my dog. I don't need to book months out to get her in and they have lots of availability. I also always found that the groomer listened to my requests and my dog always looks great when I pick her up. I don't plan on going anywhere else! read more

My dog has been IN A CAGE FOR 6 HOURS bc this place is so slow. No food or water. No potty breaks. I called to check on him and it sounded like they had forgotten him. This is after they called to reschedule yesterday only 20 minutes before the appointment was to start. I brought my dog to haute dog as I had used them before moving out of state. Upon returning to Lakeway I used them again even though my neighbors with dogs told me that they had "really gone downhill" and customers were leaving in droves. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED!!!. Front desk was very disorganized and the receptionists seemed to not know what he was doing. When I picked my 31 lb labradoodle up, I was shocked that I was charged just over $122 and if you add the $20 deposit, the final bill was over $142!!! later that evening my dog was licking her private areas very aggressively. When I checked her, the groomer (Sarah) had cut her anal area so short in that are that it was completely raw. Terrible!!! Avoid Haute Dog at all costs! You won't regret it. I would like to preface that this is the FIRST review I have ever written! Extremely dissatisfied with our last visit! Their "100% satisfaction guarantee" is absolutely false! We tried contacting the salon to resolve the issue same day but it was close to closing time so understandably they did not answer so we left a voicemail and did not hear back within the next business day. 3 days later we called again since they did not reach out to us and were informed to talk to Jason, and he couldn't keep his story straight! Stated we requested a service we did not and then back tracked, then stated another thing that our dogs ears were matted which is completely false and back tracked. Finally, he claimed that our dog came in with a double ear infection which again false! How is only one ear the problem right after we picked him up, if he so called went in with a double ear infection! I guess they hope their customers are incompetent, like seriously why would we take our puppy to get groomed where his is obviously gonna need to be bathed, with an ear infection possibly making it worse like who are they kidding we are responsible pet owners! Champ is a 11 year old Shih tzu, he was neglected by previous owner and came to our home full of matting, sores and over grown hair. Mark and his team were so sensitive and showed so much love and care to Champ. We dropped him off for a full grooming appointment and special mud bath to help improve his coat and skin texture. I got choked up when I shared his story with the team and just felt that Champ was in great hands. Haute Dog is a great place to wash your own dog and they also will groom and bathe your pet for you. We have a German Shepard and she doesn't mind it when we give her baths so we like to take her to DIY dog wash places. Unfortunately, there was not a dog wash store near us until I found Haute Dog driving by it on 620! The store is very clean and they offer great quality shampoos, conditioners, ear wash and face wash! They have multiple dog washing stations and offer towels and individual industrial blow dryers that work extremely well and fast! The owner was very nice and the prices are very fair! We picked up our Golden Doodle puppy in February of 2019 and immediately began our search for a groomer and possibilities for daycare. Haute Dog was the perfect choice! Our boy, Beaux, only weighed a few pounds at his first visit, but now is close to 60lbs. We have had him groomed many times since February and Sara and staff do an excellent job - we have never had a complaint and are always happy when we pick him up! Everyone on the grooming side is caring, loving and really seem to enjoy their work! Since Beaux is an "only child", we also wanted to be sure that he was able to spend time playing with other dogs so we take him to daycare at least once a week. (There is a monthly package for daycare during the week and we have more than made our money back each month - very, very reasonable prices.) The daycare staff are wonderful! Many of them are students who are planning to work in the veterinary field and their love for dogs is so apparent! From day one, they have been welcoming, personable, understanding, caring and are true professionals. He can tell where we are when we drive up and is immediately ready to go in! A big plus is that our fur baby has so much fun and is ready for a nap when he comes home. This past week, we had a family emergency and needed to board him for the first time. Again, Haute Dog did not disappoint! He had a cute little "suite" with a couch and we brought his bed an a couple of toys. He was there three nights and I don't think he even missed us for a minute! :-) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Haute Dog to anyone who is looking for the best place around for all your boarding, grooming and play time needs for your furry friend! Best grooming experience of our life so far! Every time I bring my dog anywhere they do a "matted goldendoodle shave down"... which I understand but I can tell she always just gets too shaved down where it's uncomfortable. Plus she comes out shaky and exhausted and stays that way for days- I found haute dogs online and read great things so I figured why not try it out even though I was scared of traumatizing her further and was extremely nervous dropping her off. Right from entering the lobby of this business they put me at ease it was clean, calm and they were so good with her!
