Today's experience at the Southwest Eye Institute, however, was the polar opposite of my previous experiences. My wife and I arrived at 10:20 for her 10:30 AM appointment and at 10:25 were taken into an exam room for pupil dilation.....five minutes early !! Very soon thereafter, she received a thorough eye exam from Dr. Cole, who was very thorough, pleasant, and took the time to answer all of our (numerous) questions. Bottom line: If you want the very best in eye care from a bunch of informative, polite, and ultra-competent professionals in an immaculate facility with modern equipment, run efficiently on an accurate schedule (so rare in today's overbooked medical facilities), then Southwest Eye Institute is for you. It's the first medical facility I have encountered in many years that feels like it's run for YOUR benefit, not theirs.

Don't do it. I had lasik about 3 years ago here and not to downplay their method but I wish I had…read moremy -4.50 vision and astigmatism back. I am now just starting to get severe dry eye that is helped by nothing and have been diagnosed with neurotropic carititis which is a secondary condition of lasik. I'm so depressed about it that I'm not even eating because I'm dreading what the future still holds. These places just want your money without informing you of future risks. I wish I had looked at the cons instead of just the pros when I decided to get it done. My eye doctor now said that since I already had dry eye before the lasik that he would not have recommended it because it would only make it worse, and it really did. Lasik is just terrible in general and I am now regretting ever getting it done because you never know how your eyes will react to it. So just don't.
