Steve called me and gave me the estimate of the car repairs. I didn't want to spend much money on the repairs because it's an older car and I asked what was necessary. Steve checked and called me back with options. I was also able to add a oil change onto list of repairs as well and they gladly did an oil change for the car as well. Upon pickup, Kayla greeted me again and I paid and was on my way. Engine light is off and we will go back to emissions after the car is driven for a few days.

*edit* Guest Services contacted me based on my review. They identified several issues that…read moreoccurred. The manager was using an old Groupon code, which didn't credit the correct amount. Additionally, I was upcharged for an optional "full synthetic" filter for an extra $10, which was never mentioned to me. As a result, they offered to send me a $30 refund, as I had been in from out of town and could not return to the store. It was mailed promptly. I went to this location for an oil change and tire rotation. I had purchased the service from Groupon which clearly states "Full Synthetic Oil Change with Tire Rotation or Aquapel Glass Treatment". When I pulled up, there were no other customers in the bays, and I was directed to pull in. I shothis wed the employee I had a voucher from Groupon, he told me the price $153, and said the voucher would be applied at checkout. After watching 2 or 3 cars that arrived after me, get their oil changed and pull out, they finally got the tires rotated and the vehicle on the lift to change the oil. After another long wait, I was told that I was ready to go. The employee was unable to check me out due to the Groupon voucher seemingly not working. He said he would have to call someone, and after a few minutes informed me that his manager was on his way back to the location and would handle it. (The manager was out picking up a filter they didn't have for another customer who was stuck in this particular hell with me). At this point I had been there for an hour. Once the manager arrived, he attempted to check me out, couldn't had to place a call to someone else to figure out the system. He finally got it all put in appropriately, and much to my surprise said I owed $48 and change. At my surprise, he said that there is always a small amount left over with Groupon. I said that $50 wasn't a small amount, he shrugged and pointed to the paper he had used to guide him that stated all Groupons only covered oil, and nothing else. I pointed out the voucher clearly stated the tire rotation was included, he shrugged and said all the Goupon people say that. I told him that I had been here for well over an hour at this point, he shrugged again and said we have a lot going on. Obviously, someone is wrong with how the Groupon is presented (eitther Jiffy Lube or Groupon). Based on the slow service, and seeming indifference of the "manager", I'd guess it is their "policy" that is incorrect. At the very least, since this seems to be a known issue, they should inform the customer before the service not after. I would at least have had a choice on whether to continue. The Groupon cost $79, and the redit this location gives is $73, sure doesn't seem like a good deal. Either way, based on the extremely poor service, I would recommend staying far away from this location and their shady business practices.

Last month at the beginning of April, I was sexually harassed by an employee at this establishment. I will attach photos here of messages he sent me via my personal phone number by copying it from my profile that was made by the store. Without my consent or pre-approved knowledge this employee paid for a service that I was entrusting the storefronts mechanics to do. This is an older gentleman that had previously been speaking with me about his wife and elderly father in a friendly, NOT inappropriate, manner. Given the light hearted conversation, I consider his act to be one of generosity and age superior kindness. However, once I left the shop is when he began messaging me. As you can see from the messages, I offered to pay him back for this unexpected and unauthorized act he did of his own free will. He proceeded to request sexual favors in return for his decision to pay for my car service. I was dumbfounded and did not respond for a period of time, in which he repeatedly messaged me until I did respond. In response I reflected on how inappropriate the request was. I unfortunately had to encounter him again the next morning, as the shop's team was servicing my vehicle once more. He "apologized" over text and said he too would be professional. All in all this was a terrible, uncomfortable and outright disgusting experience that I had from this shop. It triggered experiences of sexual harassment and assault that have happened to me in the past year, recent and traumatic enough to induce a panic attack response the more I had to reckon with seeing this man again the next day. I would not recommend their services to anyone, but I ESPECIALLY would not recommend these services to any woman, young women especially, due to their own vulnerability. I was leaving the state and moving across the country, I was alone with no family near my home, and this employee tried to take advantage of that in a humiliating and degrading way. been utilizing the Merrillville location for over 15 years .. been great …read more. However .. we utilized the Valparaiso location today as we were in the area .. attendant kept pushing synthetic oil .. we are trading vehicle in and just wanted a normal 5 w 30 oil change .. we change oil every 3000 miles .. vehicle is done and we go to pay bill .. its over $100 with a $15 coupon. I never ok'd synthetic oil .. and discussed with counter person .. Nothing he can do and was not helpful .. this is why so many businesses suffer .. from employees like this I have been in business for myself for over 35 years .. we live by referrals and reviews .. look up our last name and see how many oil changes we had done in Merrillville location .. will see what corporate does with this situation and review Larry Jaskowiak (219) 712-5020
