I was so impressed by Drogheria Fine! Located in the hip area of Mile End, they have such an amazing Gnocchi deal and I ended up eating here for lunch! For $6.25, I was able to be so full and the gnocchi was delicious and generous! They accept Canadian debit card or Cash so be prepared to have some if your traveling from abroad. The owners of this place are also really kind and food was delicious!
Don't let the long line deter you! The line actually moves very quickly. The portions are great for the price. One order is enough to share if you want to try other foods around the neighborhood. My husband and I came here several years ago and we knew we had to come back when visiting Montreal again. Overall a great value and nice quick warm treat.
This is take out only spot that serves gnocchi. They are famous on social media. It's $5 and tax is included - cash only. You can add extra for cheese or to make it spicy. The gnocchi is cooked perfectly but I found the sauce to be too sour / acidic. However, for the generous portion and price, you can't really complain. The line may be long, but it moves fast.

The gnocchi, however, was amazingly soft small pillows of pasta, which I really enjoyed. It was topped with a healthy portion of cheese. Next time, I'll opt for Drogheria Fine's spicier sauce option and stick to whatever non-chopstick utensils may be available (i.e. a fork or spoon) to simplify the eating experience.

A friend had told us this spot was a must-try, so we decided to join the queue when we were in the area for some bagels. The line was much shorter than the bagel shops, so we were pumped. We noticed the big sign on the sidewalk with the menu consisting of very minimal gnocchi options: cheese and extra cheese. It costs 50 cents to make it spicy. We decided to just get the regular cheese option for a very affordable price of $5. Drogheria Fine is takeout only, and they don't accept credit cards. But, if you want extra forks, they have silverware for you to borrow (super cute). The gnocchi comes in adorable little takeout containers, which makes it easier to hold and eat on the sidewalk. I must say that I'm usually not a big fan of gnocchi, but a few extremely great experiences made me like the food more. I was expecting to enjoy the gnocchi here, especially because of how saucy and mouthwatering it looked. However, the flavor is a little bland and the texture isn't quite how I like it. I will say that it's a little better than some other places I've been to, and I was able to eat at least half of the container with my partner. The friends I was with wouldn't touch it after one bite.

The gnocchi is neither too hard or too soft but made to succulent perfection in a "imported from Italy ripe tomato" sauce. Orders are made and delivered quickly with pleasant service. Full plates are under $5. This place is simple, delicious, and a find.
THE best meal in all of Montréal. There's something about $5 gnocchi in a chinese takeout container that is just so good. I came on a weekday during lunch and while there was a line, it moved quickly. While Drogheria isn't a proper restaurant, there are benches outside for you to eat on. Pro tip; grab a bagel from Fairmont next door to dip in your leftover sauce from the gnocchi!

Even though I dont care for gnocci very much, $5 for gnocci is a steel and I would have been here all the time back in college. They have three options but they arent very different. The spicy version just has some pepper flakes on it and the cheese as a bit on top but essentially they are the same. That being said it is still pretty good. It is stewed in a huge pot and half of what you get is sauce so it feels almost like a soup but thats not nessasarily bad. We got this in the blazing summer but this would be amazing in the winter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The stand just fits their pot and a few employees so there it is only to go orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That being said, one thing I like a lot about them is that you can bring your own mug and get a discount. Not only reducing waste but encouraging it too is great. The line seems long and constant but it goes super fast considering every order is one of three things and they only take cash. Speaking of which, bring cash! There are ATMs a few blocks away but its still a pain to go get it if you didnt bring any. Overall a great spot and iconic in Montreal. read more
A popular gnocchi spot with one specialty and under $10. This spot is cash only. I got the gnocchi spicy. While it did have a nice kick to it and the gnocchi was tender, I thought it lacked flavor outside of the spice but it got me full enough to last me until dinner. read more

This is one of those spots that I feel is definitely worth the hype. Only one thing on the menu and they make it well. The gnocchi is soft and pillowy and the sauce is great. I would recommend adding the cheese and pepper. read more
Great location for a cheap eat. The gnocchi starts at $5 a box, and has add ons such as cheese and chilli flakes for extra. There is a good amount for the price you pay, and I would recommend for a quick and easy meal. read more

My husband and I passed by the place during our walk through mile end. We saw a few people hanging around eating out of to go containers and the smell drew us in. This place is delicious! And for $5 the portion was easily shared between the two of us. The sauce is super good and the gnocchi texture was spot on. A great snack to pick you up after walking around everywhere! read more
Had this on a hot humid day and ate it on the street sweating and it was absolutely worth it. The dish is so delicious and seems simple but has so much depth to the flavor. The texture is perfect, cheese is always a must, and free chopsticks felt like my time to shine. Super quick and friendly service and a steal of a price. I don't think you can say anything bad about this place except that it only takes cash! You walk up to a window on the street and, when we were there, you could choose between gnocchi with cheese, gnocchi with cheese and extra spice and gnocchi with extra cheese and extra spice. Prices range from $5 to $6.50. I am not certain if this is the same every day or if the flavors change. You get a Chinese take away box filled to the absolute brim with yummy gnocchi. It was actually quite spicy! It was delicious and, despite being quite a lot of food, my husband and I both completely finished. This is highly recommended especially to offset the high prices of many of the fine dining locations in Montreal. Bonus, there is ice cream next-door if you dare to eat more! read more
$5 gnocchi with incredible sauce so hot (not spicy just hot...it is hard to wait to eat, right off the stove)!!! For a $1 more fresh cheese... In a cute to go container and on a slightly rainy day hard to wait! We had umbrellas so we sat for a moment + ate on the colorful/rainbow metal benches just beside the takeout window. There was a bit of construction going on this week...not so romantic unless you are looking to fall in love with a single Montreal construction worker? Perhaps take him/her a container of gnocchi on a cold day or just to say thank you for working on a miserable day? We took an extra container home to my 80 year old mom who did not want to venture out this afternoon and she had it for breakfast the next morning!!! One note, parking is a bit tricky so watch the signs. We did find some a few streets away. Go, enjoy the heck out of it, we did! read more
I loved the gnocchi I had here! It's a simple walk-up window with a limited menu: gnocchi with a tomato sauce and cheese, with options to add extra cheese or spice. My inner Calabrese kid was overjoyed as I dug into my gnocchi here. We came at the right time because right after we ordered a line started to form around the block. It's such a stand out place being solely a takeout counter where you order from the street and there isn't even an entrance to go inside. They offer only two things: gnocchi and spicy gnocchi. The spicy variety is the same as the original, they just add red pepper flakes. They serve the gnocchi in Chinese take out containers making it ideal for a bite on the go. I was next door grabbing bagels and noticed there was a line for food in Chinese take-out containers. Unsure of what it was but curious as well, I decided to wait in line and order the food which turned out to be gnocchi. Food was served really hot which made it great for the chilly autumn weather. The sauce is on the tangy/sweet side which isn't really my thing but the chewy texture of the gnocchi made it a great pre-lunch snack. It wasn't personally my favorite but the cashiers were nice and the line moved along fast. read more
This is a damn fine street snack. It is delicious and people line up for it. Five bucks gets you a pretty sizable helping of gnocchi in a tangy tomato sauce with a dusting of cheese on top. You could probably share one between two people if you're not super hungry but don't ask for two forks. I get it, for that price you can share the fork as well ;) read more
Really good sauce. Taste like it had olives and capers in it that gives a li'l tang to it. Not your regular tomato pasta sauce for sure. They give only 1 fork per order so if u want to share find a local to spare their fork if they are doing takeaway. Quick service. And lots of benches nearby to go sit and enjoy the best nonna gnocchi. read more

Had to do this quintessential tourist experience on our first trip to Montreal. The line can be long, but moves pretty well. You'd be well advised to grab yourself some drinks and anything else you'd like to accompany your gnocchi at the convenience store a few feet up the street while a partner waits in line. It's easy to order with only three options. Gnocchi were a bit soft for my taste, but it was fun trying to spear them with chopsticks. The sauce was kind of spaghettios adjacent, but in a good way, and the cheese and pepper flakes bring it together. A really fun experience that makes you feel like a kid again. A very authentic (yes, I can say that) sauce that Nonna would be proud of covering a portion of Gnocchi we weren't really able to finish in one go but was impossible to put down. While we were waiting to purchase our box a line formed behind us that ran down the street until the corner... In the middle of the day on a Monday.
