Love me a good stationary store! Huge variety of pens and a good price range too. They also had a large section of notebooks and sketch pads as well again in the large price range. It was also nice you could test items out on paper before committing. There were some super cute stickers and planners there too. Wanted to buy so much haha.

Some options I was considering but didn't get. On my to-buy list

This place is heaven for all pen and paper enthusiasts! There was so much to look at: stationery, notebooks, stickers, inks, fountain pens, pencils, EVERYTHING! The guys there were amazing! So helpful and knowledgeable and great at letting me try out literally every single pen I saw LOL we don't have pen shops like this in Miami so this was a dream come true to try out pens that I've only ever been able to see online (Goulet Pens I see you)! They have a large variety of pens from high to low end and an entire wall of inks along with an ink book with all color switches Left the store with a few bottles of ink, a beautiful Leonardo fountain pen and some recs for my next purchase. Would HIGHLY recommend! This is my official go-to fountain pen store whenever I visit Houston.

WOW! Talk about a Houston gem!! I am sad I didn't know about Dromgoole's sooner. I found this store looking online for a Lamy Fountain pen. The customer service is exceptional! The gentleman who helped me was so patient in explaining everything I possibly needed to know about my purchase. He was extremely knowledgeable and didn't make me feel rushed at all. After answering all my questions and making my choice, I was able to have my pen giftwrapped. *It's very rare to find stores that offer this service these days* They even have a great selection of Papyrus cards in store! Overall, I am very satisfied with my entire experience with Dromgoole's and will absolutely be back. I have already suggested it to multiple friends. If you are ever in need of a gift, or want to treat yourself, a Pen is a lovely choice! Thank you Dromgoole family!!

If you are even remotely a writing enthusiast, Dromgoole's is a must-visit! I'll admit, I was intimidated at first. I thought I would be judged for just wearing shorts and a Batman shirt, but the staff were beyond helpful. Every single person asked if I needed help and they are knowledgeable about EVERYTHING there. Gabriel, a gentleman who works "around the corner" from there and is a two-year hobbyist of the craft ended up being my guru and was an absolute well of inspiration, passion, and information. They might not have exactly what strikes your fancy when you're looking through their swatches, but they can all immediately recommend similar products off the top of their head. Genuinely, an amazing group of passionate and professional people - you're in good hands with Dromgoole's. I'll be back! The Sailor Nekoyanagi was on back order but the second they have it we'll be in!

Ask the Community - Dromgoole's Fine Writing Instruments

Is nib tuning a service you still offer?

For minor tuning, smoothing, realigning of tines, etc. that's usually something we can do here. More major repairs or re-grinding require a nibmeister, and while our in-house nibmeister hasn't been able to come in since March, we can send off pens… Read more

Do you offer pen repairs and pen nib tuning?

Yes we do! Minor pen tune ups and nib adjustments can be done any day of the week and major pen repairs can be done on most Saturdays, when our Pen Doctor comes in!

I particularly enjoyed walking through Ernesto Neto: SunForceOceanLife. A great experience for both adults and kids. Frida: The Making of an Icon, a captivating exhibition, graced the halls of MFAH in January and will leave May 17. This remarkable exhibition showcases over 30 works by the iconic artist. They have free admission every Thursday, and we paid $10 each to get the all access pass for temporary exhibits. Parking is $10 in the garage. We went to see a Frida Kahlo exhibit and an interactive playground-like exhibit by Ernesto Neto. They gave us hospital grippy socks to climb on the structure. Kusama's Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity was cool as well, although one minute of standing in there was definitely sufficient. The least enjoyable "immersive" exhibit was the James Turrell one where we just sat on a bench for one minute to watch something, except that nothing happened. I am not an art person, so I wasn't super engaged by this museum as it is pretty similar to other art museums, but I think it's a good one for patient people who enjoy art.

I bought the tickets from Groupon, which was slightly cheaper, and expected to spend 3-4 hours there. We arrived around 11 a.m. and were able to walk through the entrance quickly. We had a lot of fun with the Mission: Sketch exhibit, where you can color your own rocket and send it flying into space on a projector screen. They also offer off-site tram tours. When we got there, all the tours were fully booked, except for the Saturn V rocket. Seeing it in person was surreal. It's enormous! Highly recommended!

I purchase a friends and family thinking whenever fam visits we can take them on tours and not have to worry about lines etc. They don't make it clear that you have to be here basically when it opens to even get a spot on the tram tours. They were all booked by the time we got here at noon. Major fail. We took the rocket one which is generic and runs every 20 mins. Used a member entrance that bypassed the basic longer line. On the way back this was not the case and now we are stuck here with over 200 hundred people trying to head back and our day is shot. This part is for the food lab. It closed at 3pm on a Saturday. This place is so chaotic and such a mess. Seriously need to get their act together. I don't know how anyone enjoys themselves here. Feel bad for people out of state who only have a day. At least we can come back but definitely not renewing now.
