Gave them the benefit of the doubt; things like this happen, right? Wrong! Dropped off my brand new satin dress to be pressed; never worn, tags still attached. Went to retrieve it; the worker proceeded to fold in THIRDS the satin dress I had Just paid to be pressed. Wow ok, maybe inexperienced. I get home and inspect the dress as I have to wear this out tomorrow night (my fault for not doing so at the cleaners) and find what looks like a boot stain or burn mark all on the backside of my $220 dress. I'll be reaching out in the morning but I am beyond livid. No more chances for this place. Take your expensive items elsewhere. I will say they do an okay job on our comforter, but anything beyond that is being properly dry cleaned somewhere else from now on!

It is now Wednesday at 5 and they are not open even though they say they are open until 7. No sign on the door anywhere to say they are closed. I asked if I could have a pair of work pants hemmed, and they said they would have to send it to a third party and it would be a little longer which I said was fine! Then, the rest of my items said they were ready so I went to pick them up. Everything was fine with them but I was missing a fancy long sleeve suit shirt. I had asked the lady and she made some comment about how it would need an extra day. Didn't think much but saw nothing in the app about the shirt, so went in a few days later and they proceeded to tell me the nice white shirt was destroyed by ink. I had never been informed, the Tide app said nothing either, they just removed the item like it didn't exist. Then I said well will I be refunded because I need that shirt. They said they had credited my account already apparently, but I did not want credit. I wanted the money back to go buy the $60+ nice suit shirt from GQ back before it needed to be worn for a graduation in a few weeks. The kid I was talking to was very confused and seemed very young, and an older worker in the back said we will mail a check to your address instead. I said yes please, and have still yet to receive any kind of check after two weeks. They also decided to update my work pants to being cleaned along with hemmed, which I didn't ask for -- only hemmed, and are charging me more for having them cleaned now when they are still not ready after a month. I hate being a stickler. But the fact I received NO notification about destroying one of my items and had to go into the location and ask a bunch of questions and get vague responses is crazy! It's like they were trying to hide it from me by removing it from the app and not saying anything. I also need that check to rebuy the shirt and they don't seem to care. It has been fine here before, but I will absolutely not be returning again.

I wanted to try and save myself some time by dry cleaning some hats, that were a bit nasty. Before drop off I verified the price and was told that it would be $1.00 per hat. Excitedly I dropped off about 17 hats with 2 shirts for pickup same day. Fast forward 8 hours to 16:45 and I return to get the goods prior to my flight the next morning. After my items were retrieved, I eagerly awaited for the total of around $30, "$137.00 is your total" the clerk proclaimed. A discussion ensues, and I was told to wait for a call from the manager, so I retrieve my 2 shirts for $20 and I wait.. No call, so on Friday as I am about to return home and pick my hats up tomorrow I reach out only to discover a call had been forgotten but a discount is going to be applied as "that was a new person who didn't know what they were doing, and that is all I am being allowed to offer" Bet. I share this only as a warning to you, that this is not the expected outcome from American Cleaners - however, it may be best to avoid this one.
