I'm stunned that anybody could say anything bad. It's clear to me there are certain people in the world that just love to complain and that's what they do everywhere they go. If things aren't perfect then they complain. I've been dealing with these very nice people for decades and when I read the reviews I was so hurt that people could be so cruel and so intolerant. Be careful, I took 4 dress shirts to dry clean, and they lost one! still 3 weeks later with nothing by excuses they are stalling to pay for their mistake, it was one if my fav shirts, they had my wife take home another shirt even though she said it was not mine until they could find it? sufice to say we returned the unknown shirt! very unprofessional and outdated system... They ruined a beautiful silk dress of mine by putting on adhesive sticker over collar. When sticker was removed, the fabric was stained and damaged. I was told they will not pay for dress (or even refund cost of cleaning) because it has been more than 30 days. This is a special occasion dress that I wear maybe once a year, so I did not try it on after the cleaning for several months. They acknowledge 100% that they caused the damage, yet refuse to compensate me. I am awaiting a call back from the regional manager Carmen. I will update my review if I receive a prompt response and compensation. Otherwise, stay away from this dry cleaner!!! read more

I had asked for a price list when I brought the clothes and was told that pants were $4.99 and they might charge slightly more for certain pants. I brought in 10 pair of pants, all wool, and provided a 25% coupon. My bill was close to $60.00. When I told them that this wasn't what I was told they showed me a receipt that said each pair of pants were $6.75-7.50 per pair. Because there were pleats. Honestly, this was ridiculous and unacceptable. The lost a potential customer only because they wouldn't provide a legitimate price list and fulfill what they said the costs would be. read more

I dropped off a pair of pants to get a one inch seem on my pants resewed. They said $5.00 for the repair and the receipt even reflected that. When I went to pick it up they charged me $14.95 and said there was nothing they could do about the mess up. They nickel and dime you. Bad business practices to over charge customers. read more

I've been here twice for alterations. The first time was great. The work was done within two days (reasonable for a hem) and was done well. The last time I went there was a new woman working in alterations and she told me it would be a week and cost twice the price I was charged last time. I took my jeans elsewhere and had them done for less than the first time. I will not return a third time. read more

Brought in some items to be cleaned before a business trip. I was guaranteed the items would be ready the day before the trip. I explain that if they couldn't be ready on that day, I'd just keep them and clean them when I arrived. They again said it would be no problem. The day before the trip, I still hadn't received a text saying they were ready so I went to the store and asked. The lady casually tells me they'll be ready tomorrow after 4. WHAT!! I explained the situation and that I was told they'd be ready today. She said we have two items ready. The rest you can get tomorrow. Umm, I'll be across the country tomorrow and I'll only have two things to wear for a week. She ended up finding the rest of the clothing wadded up waiting to be cleaned. She handed them to me in a clump and said I'd still have to pay for them since they started the process. No apologies or anything. No customer service. Wish I didn't have to give them a star at all. Worst dry cleaning ever!! If I had a chance I would give them no star.. 1 star is even too much for them. They ruined my shirt and did not accept the responsibility. I brought my shirt with a very small (4-5 mm) spot of blood on chest. When I got my shirt it was white dots all over my shirt looks like something spilled on it. The customer service was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lady in charge was rude and arrogant, showing me the label writing "the spot on the fabric cannot be cleaned without destroying it". She claimed that label proving the shirt was like that before. That must be nothing but a joke. If you are not able to clean the shirt then just say so and do not accept it. But no, you have to ruin it. It was just a $40.00 worth of shirt. I don't care, I have many shirts. I am not after a credit or something. However, I cannot accept the service I have experienced with them. The manager was accusing me that I was lying. What a nerve.. In fact, she was lying right in front of me and being so rude. I was not expecting such a service so not prepared for that. Took my husbands uniform here cause we needed it done on a Saturday. Only place close by I could find that could get it done that day. Husband gets to work today & the zipper is missing from his shirt. Seriously the zipper is missing!? We've been having his uniforms dry cleaned elsewhere for 5 years & never had an issue. Now he's stuck at work looking ridiculous with no zipper. No bueno. We will continue with our regular dry cleaner & seriously inspect any items we take here if we ever are in that situation again. read more

I have been a client of Martinizing for over 10 years, mostly using their drop-off and pick-up service, but sometimes using the Champlain location. They recently ruined a dress I was to wear at my step-daughter's wedding. Instead of trying to work out a compromise, they called me a liar, verbally abused me, threatened me, and told me to never come back. I called the regional manager to discuss the issue, and she too suggested that I take my business elsewhere. Wondering how a company can treat its long-term loyal customers this way, and be OK with losing thousands of dollars in business because they don't want to make things right on one random mistake. Used to work at a dry cleaners long ago, so I know how it is. This cleaners is awesome! They are very trustworthy and really care about the customers clothes. They always have coupons in the paper which is so cool! The prices are a bit higher then other cleaners in town, but its because you pay for what you get! Honestly, still not sure why this "so-called dry cleaning business" is still operational. Dropped of 3 pants, and was told, it was going to cost approximately $5.00 each. When I came to pick up the pants, I was charged ~$9.00 for each pant with no good explanation. These are regular pants, nothing special about them. All I got was these unprofessional and stupid statements "people pay that all the time", "we added special fees for different types of pants and colors", "there is not much we could do". Bear in mind, the ~$9.00 per pant, was after coupon was applied, that means it could have easily been up to $10.00 or more. No one could give me a decent explanation as to why, anyone has to pay ~$9.00 for dry cleaning a pant. Complete rip-off, if not criminal. Horrible customer service, the worse I've seen. I dropped off clothes and asked the attendant whether I could use a coupon and she said yes. I asked if I need to present the coupon at time of drop off or pick up. She told me pick up is fine. So I go a few days later to pick up. They said I needed to present coupon at time of drop off. I spent close to $100 there and they blatantly lied to me. When I accidentally washed and dried a load of clothes with a blue pen in the pocket of one of my work shirts, there were blue ink stains ALL over my Husband's brand new shirt I had gotten him for Christmas. I was beside myself. . . Luckily Martinzing Dry Cleaner's on Champlain and Perrin came to the rescue. After stopping by their competitor across the street who told me there was nothing they could do to help, the store manager at Martinizing Dry Cleaner's told me while she wasn't optimistic she would be able to save the shirt (given that it had already been dried with the ink stains present), she was more than willingly to give it a try. Fast forward to when I picked up the shirt, it looked SO much bette. It wasn't 100% as there were still some very small, barely noticeable blue smudges present but it is at least wearable now, even if not for work, for casual wear out and about town. To top it all off she didn't charge me anything. I was more than happy to pay her because as I mentioned the shirt looked a lot better than it had when I had dropped it off. But she stated because they could not get all of the stains out she did not feel right charging anything. What a great business!
