We were in the river view room and it was cozy with a great deck view of the river. We were able to get settled in pretty quickly and wander by the water; sit and enjoy the scenery, and last but not least see their little rabbits, chickens, and prince the peacock! Ludger was an amazing host and really made us feel welcome -- can I also say he puts some restaurant chefs to shame with his breakfast creations? I found it super thoughtful that they had a check in sheet asking about allergies, dietary restrictions, and even taste preferences. He definitely accommodated to my vegetarian palate while still cooking up some of the best meals I have ever had at an inn, hotel, and possibly even restaurants. Kudos to him. It was super nice to have fresh fruit from the orchard be included the meals and it really added such a great touch to them. Price wise, I would say it is very reasonable for the delightful experience, calm and quiet surroundings, and comfortable stay. I have recommended this spot to every friend I have seen this week and will continue to rave to everyone about how amazing this spot is. First, the quality of the ingredients they shipped to me was amazing, from a spiced honey ginger syrup and special bitters blend to candied ginger and dehydrated orange garnishes. We made three bourbon drinks (Woodford Reserve, also included), led by a mixologist from the Seattle area. I especially liked the Holiday in Louisville, which was a twist on a Moscow mule, and the spiced old fashioned. The webcast was well produced, with a couple of folks from our company co-hosting with the mixologist. If you're planning a corporate event and have remote team members, I highly recommend these virtual experiences!

The bus was surprisingly filled with people who seemed to be 25+ (a perk for us late 20's) but it would still be enjoyable for kids/teens. We left the SLU around 10am and arrived by 1pm, had time to explore shops and eat two meals, then got on the bus by 6pm and arrive by 8:15pm! It even snowed during our time there which made it extra memorable. Food and drink is super reasonably priced there, compared to Seattle at least. The host was entertaining and friendly. Only knocked off one star for the in-bus bathroom - it unfortunately wasn't the cleanest as was out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer - yikes! Unfortunately, on the day we went, there were no views due to smoke from various fires. However, I was impressed by the scope of the wind farm; 149 wind turbines placed high on the ridges of Whiskey Dick Mountain. The towers are 221 feet tall, and each blade is 129 feet long. And the displays at the Visitor Center (Renewable Energy Center) are well done and informative. How do these turbines work? Why do they have 3 blades? Find out the answers to these questions and more, and see the turbines up close, at Wild Horse.

The house is well within walking distance to all of the activities in town so you do not need to worry about parking. They are great hosts and the home and rooms are very inviting and exceptionally clean. The home has two guest rooms and they have both been recently remodeled. Breakfast was very good both mornings. Bonnie and Brian were amazing, they were very friendly and knowledgeable about the town. Bonnie had a list of events and places to go to in town printed out for us upon our arrival with the list she also handed us a map so we would know how to get around. The house was super comfortable and cozy. We felt right at home. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved that everything was within walking distance. Bonnie is a great cook and she made some really great breakfasts while we were there. This was the first time I've ever stayed at a bed and breakfast and it was an amazing experience. I highly recommend Hause Chikamin to anyone coming into town. We plan to come back during the warmer months and booking with Bonnie and Brian again.
