But on Monday AM I learned that an earlier doctor's appointment on Tuesday was being delayed by 1.5 hours. I called Mr. Appliance to request a later time on Tuesday and again a REAL PERSON answered the phone and gave me a later time slot. Tanner came and was polite and efficient and repaired the dryer. Overall I was pleased but in this day of AI and answering machines I really appreciated being able to directly communicate with REAL PEOPLE rather than answering machines.

Got the service scheduled for three days out, and received an immediate confirmation, as well as a day-before confirmation that included a photo of the technician. Received a text from the technician when he was on his way. Upon his inspection of the dryer, he determined he would need to order a new part, but said he would be able to get back to install it by the end of the day. Turned out even better than that--he was back in a couple of hours, telling me he decided it would be quicker to swing back to my place then instead of after his next stop, as he'd planned. After the new part was in, everything was fine. The repair wasn't cheap--replacing a circuit board won't be in any circumstances--but the repair went smoothly and the dryer is now working fine.

I contacted Speed Queen corporate, and they confirmed the part has been in stock. However, RSI goes through a third-party supplier and, I was told, cannot order directly from Speed Queen. After this long delay, you would think an exception could be made. To make matters worse, communication has been poor throughout--phone calls are rarely returned, and updates have been minimal.
