I'm not a hot dog snob but it's surprisingly easy to mess even that up. Thankfully that's not the case here - fresh dogs and fries made for a good meal that's just about the right price. Everything came out quick, and it's now happily in my belly. It's been refreshing to see small places like this succeed even in this year of 2026. And with a chill vibe that just feels relaxing to just enjoy your meal. That's oddly hard to find these days. I'm definitely going to come again, and you should too. Frates has delicious burgers, sandwiches and seafood options along with a ton of ice cream to finish off with. I had a Philly cheesesteak with a cake batter ice cream to finish and it was the perfect late lunch on a hot spring day. Parking is ample and the venue itself is very retro cute. Prices are a little steep for the area but the food is good enough quality to justify it. Just wish they gave complimentary fries/sides with their sandwiches like most burger joints do.
