They also pointed out another issue, a leaking oil sender unit and I said do that too, along with an oil change. Said may take a day or two and I was offered a loaner car. Great. I said ok, do the work. Next day car was done early and came in under the quote. Just fantastic service. AC is nice and cold again!!! The tech. rode with me patiently in the car to help diagnose it. I don't think most mechanics would have rode with me as long and as patiently as he did, nor would they have the skill to diagnose. I found prices to be very fair and, in fact, less than the dealership. They don't use factory replacement parts, but nowadays, after-market parts are usually the same quality and sometimes better. Although my rear brakes were the problem, I asked about prices for the front brakes. They were very upfront about the fact that when they replace brake pads in a small car like mine, they also replace the rotors. Since these rotors are already quite thin, to machine them down more (instead of replacing) would risk screwing up the whole braking system and eventually costing more. I know garages that would just do as you ask - replace the break pads and machine down the rotors - even to the point where it would become unsafe and cause more problems. This shows me that these guys are concerned about their reputation and will only do a job if they can do it correctly. They also do it at a reasonable price. Does that sound like most auto repair shops you know of?

Recently, Mike sold Ron's Service Ctr, which is now managed by a guy named Olay. Mike and his brother are still owners of the Cannan Fuels properties, which expanded into Taunton, Attleboro, and next - Milford - where, according to neighbors, Mike will act more as a property manager. Trying to give Olay at Ron's Service Ctr a chance, we took our car there when it started making a strange noise. He told us the noise was caused by the need for new set of breaks. Olay told us to leave the car there for the day for car diagnostic and new front break installation. After spending almost $400, the noise was still there the day after the new break set installation. We called Olay, who then yelled at us saying he cannot diagnose our car over the phone and we would need to bring it back for a second day. Sorry Olay, we gave you a chance. He call when the truck was ready, I went and paid my bill not paying much attention to it.
