When I reach out to Jimmy, receipt in hand to refer to, he claims that because it was just over a year ago there's nothing he can do about it. My mistake was paying them cash and not by card to file a dispute. Will never make that mistake again. Jimmy never apologized and never took accountability-- that's the part that took me aback b/c I honestly felt like Jimmy was a nice guy and seemed honest. Not sure who's to blame but I don't appreciate shelling out $300 only to find out none of the work was done and no apology. I do believe that they are overwhelmed with the amount of cars that come in everyday and the guys are possibly overworked. Still doesn't excuse what happened! So glad I never came here raving about them.. give it time and I'm sure they'll be forgetting about your car too.

Ok - so I am REALLY picky about who fixes my car. More picky than I am with say - who cuts my hair,…read moreor who does my nails. Explanation: I drive an old Saab convertible. I have been driving old Saabs for 10 years now and I love them. I could probably fix many of the problems better than a 'generic' (read: non european car specialist) mechanic. Most mechanics look at my car and laugh at me. Literally. A number of them have actually given me a ton of free service because they can't figure out the right thing to drain for a simple oil change (this has gotten me, among other things, a free transmission fluid service and a radiator flush). What this means is that when I need something big done to my nearly 20 year old car that I love dearly, I need to find someone who isn't going to make whatever problem worse than it is. Or send me home with a handful of new problems that I subsequently won't be able to afford to fix. Enter European Motorsport. Other than the guys back at home in CT who have been fixing my many Saabs for as long as I have been driving them, this is the first place I have been in the area that actually knows what they are doing, and won't rake you over the coals the way a dealer will. Don't get me wrong: This doesn't mean they're cheap. What this does mean is that you know they are fixing the problem you actually came in for, using quality (Saab or Bosch, usually) parts, and leaving happy instead of wondering how long its going to take you to notice that something is MAJORLY wrong that wasn't when you went in. For simple oil changes and the like, I usually head to a quickie, no appointment place (because planning ahead is NOT my forte) but for anything requiring a half a brain and actual experience with foreign cars, this is where my old Swedish friend comes. I feel much better knowing the person working on my car has actually seen one before! If you have a Saab, Volvo, BMW, or any other European car that needs some tlc, bring it here.

I can say that he has literally saved me $$$ doing the work that he has done. I brought in my vehicle with a check engine light on at 6:00 pm on a Friday night (yup, after the shop closed) and he worked on it for forty five minutes, fixed the wiring issue and treated me fantastically. Ace wasn't on the insurance company's list of "preferred" shops; the insurance adjuster went as far as trying to talk me into sending my vehicle to another shop but I'm glad I never did!! It is very apparent that John and his Team at Ace Auto work for you, with your best interest in mind and not the insurance company's!! John kept me updated every step of the way while we waited for the insurance company to send out appraisers and rework their reports (he provided me with far more information on the status of my repair claim than my insurance company ever did!) Although my Durango ended up being totaled and Ace Auto didn't complete body work to it, John provided excellent customer service and went above and beyond to help me navigate my insurance claim that involved two insurance companies, 3 appraisers and 2 months of insurance adjusters dragging their feet handling my claim. John guided me to make sure I received a fair valuation of my vehicle, helped me research comps and valuations and helped settle my nerves when the insurance company was trying to strong arm me. He was available by phone, text and email even while on vacation, on a National Holiday and after business hours; you'll never find that with an insurance company's "preferred" body shop!! When it came time to clean out my vehicle and release it to the insurance company, John and Joe helped remove and load all my belongs into the car I was driving. Joe made sure I took my ezpass transponder and carwash pass that I would had totally forgotten. The first experience was having the business do an oil change on the car that I did not ask for. When I addressed this initially the owner told me that I did ask for the service. However, he did not persist and told me there would be no charge. My recent experience was going in to ask for the AC drain to be cleared because it was clogged. They cleared the drain and called to tell me that my AC needed to be charged for $468. I was working and not thinking so I agreed. That was the mistake that I made. I had recently returned from a 14 hour trip in the car and the AC was working fine. Nice and cold. Since they charged the AC i no longer have AC in the car. I have addressed this with the owner. The first time he stated that I asked for the service and told him my AC was not working. That is why they did the AC charge. This was not true. I left the car to be worked on and the owner stated that they overcharged the AC and the condenser kept starting and stopping because of this. He removed freone and it calmed down. This week the condenser is not firing at all. I returned to the owner and told him of the problem. He said it would take 2 days to work on the car and figure it out. I asked for a refund and told him I did not want to do business with him anymore. He informed me that he could not process a refund. I told him I will be sure to post a review. He said he did not care because the neighborhood trusts him. This business is not honest. You will pay for service that is not needed and have new problems with your car.
