Nice people but money grubbing. We hit a bad pothole and it pushed a bracket off the muffler where it attached to another pipe and it was rumbling. We explained to the gentleman @ Mass Motors that the car was being traded in soon and could he see it the bracket could just be put back into place. The only answer we got is that we should make an insurance claim because the repairs would be over 4k. We went to a different mechanic (Hannibal's......honest people!) and he was able was able to put the bracket back in place for $40.....no mire rumbling! Yes Mass motors wanted $4000 and we were able to get it repaired for $40!. Tell me there isn't something wrong there. :( read more

They are the worst in customer service, worst body shop I ever dealt with in my 56 years! I have been dealing with shops all my life and this place was recommended. It's a blue Honda Accord, the clear was dripping to the point it looked like the car was crying everywhere, I brought it back there for them to wet sand and buff it, they refused to do it because the insurance company had already paid them. Once they got the money they did not do as promised. I ended up having to leave and bring it to Boston Body Works who ended up doing it for half the money, and did an excellent job. I wouldn't even give Mass Motors 1 star but that is the lowest. Hands down they are the worst effing body shop there is. I will never go there again. Please do your research, Boston Body Works is much better. read more

Wow... they are a life saver. I actually called them in tears because my breaks gave out on my way to work... Toyota was booked so, of course i came on yelp and checked for shops with good ratings. The people: Everyone here is super nice. I'm not a dog person and they had dogs here that were well behaved (and super cute lol). Before the work: I am so happy that they let me know from the beginning that they wont do anything to my car without asking me first (because lets face it, females still get played at auto shops...). When they called me to let me know what they needed to do to get my car back on the road, they gave me the run down on everything - what was wrong, what parts i needed, the cost, how long it would take. The cost: talk about affordable! With everything that needed to get fixed I am surprised it didn't cost over $500.. whew... And, to make sure I wasn't getting played, I asked my brother what he thought about the price. He told me i was getting a GREAT deal!! The extra: (yes, extra) Dude.......... they cleaned my car! inside and out!! i NEVER get this at toyota !! I came to Mass Motors with a very, very limited budget and a car that looked like Godzilla had rolled it on its side, stomped on it, and then flipped it over and raked the other side with his claws. I told Tommy that I realized I couldn't afford all the work my car needed, and asked him to do as much as he could with the money I had in hand. When I came back a week later, my car looked almost new! The icing on the cake was that my car had been washed and the interior cleaned. Based on past experiences with other body shops, I know that the work done on my car would have cost at least twice as much anywhere else. Another thing that I like about Mass Motors is that they have two friendly and gentle dogs. Nothing to do with body work, but it makes visiting the office fun. I went to Mass Motors on the recommendation of one of the people at my excellent general auto-repair place, Columbia Road Gulf. Highly Recommend!!! These guys did a great job, and helped save me money. They are smart, informative, and explain things so you can understand. They also seemed to recognize my unhealthy obsession with my car so they didn't treat me like I was crazy even though I am. My 2011 Mustang got hit 3 times before I even owned it a year. Each time they gave me a good idea about what I needed to do to fix it. They were great about communicating in general, and about when the car would be done. They always returned my calls same day. They always told me what work they were doing. Awesome. I would definitely take my car there again. They were simply great. I will recommend Mass Motors. My beetle was struck by a truck and I needed it repaired ASAP. I brought my car over and after a quick conversation I was set to go. I left my car, and I am under 21 years of age so I was not able to order a rent a car. The owners son came out and gave me a ride to the redline so I could get home. They seem like a honest company and I could say trustworthy. My cars bumper was replaced and paint was touched up, done in less then a week!. I also was given free paint to do more touch ups myself. so i was upstairs at my office when my boss comes running up to me with a frantic expression boss: walter! i've been looking for you! me: why? what's going on? boss: that's your beige camry parked out front on the street?? me: yeah. why? boss: well you're not driving that home, that's for sure! turned out some guy was trying to park, caught my bumper, and damn near ripped it off my car. LOT of damage. $2100 worth as i later found out. jury rigged the bumper so i could at least limp her down to mass motor (smashed headlight notwithstanding) and left her there with the insurance appraisal. the rest couldn't have gone better. paul (owner or at least GM. not really sure) took care of all the insurance hassle so i barely even had to talk to them - just got the checks in the mail. and when i picked up my car about a week later it looked better than when i'd gotten hit. all fixed up plus washed, detailed, etc. i had such a good experience that when my alternator quit a few weeks later i didn't even think twice before telling them to tow it to mass motor. paul is THE MAN. my kinda guy. old school - straight shooter. and when he shakes your hand you know it means something. only word of caution is that i wouldn't come here if you're a snooty entitled douchebag becuase i get the impression that they don't have a whole lot of patience for that. however if you're honest, hardworking, and respectful then you'll be in good company. tell 'em walter sent you. read more

It's Dorchester, and they guy at the front desk can be a little grumpy, so don't expect to be treated with kid gloves. But I would not think to take my car anywhere else.
