I'm liking coming to shop for shoes at DSW now. There's always plenty of parking and I signed up for the rewards program. Everything is self-serve with open stock shelves under each sample model. Women's shoes are on the main level when you enter and men's & children's shoes are on the upper level, along with the clearance section. Just ride the escalator up. There are not a lot of floor sales associates around, so you're mostly on your own to try on anything you like. I got a great pair of Skechers casual slip-ons for work. I never liked Skechers at other stores before because they never had the right size or were a bad fit, but I was surprised when DSW had my size & width. This pair is a perfect fit and gives a bouncy spring to my step! My wife went bananas and bought 3 pairs of casual sneakers in both canvas and leather, plus a pair of winter boots, since they were BOGO 1/2 off. At the register, the associate offered us shoe treatment on the boots to coat with stain-resistant/waterproofing for $8.99, but also gave us a discount on the boots that covered the treatment. She stuck the boots in a machine and was done in a few seconds. That was some good service! read more

My husband and I went to this dsw store today, because irrespective of me celebrating an amazing birthday last week, he still wanted to get me three pairs of shoes. He loves buying me shoes. We got there and were in good spirits, however, that did not last. No sooner than we entered the store and started browsing, I noticed that we were being tailed and I mentioned it to my husband. There is a very dark skined male with dreads (and I should also mention that we are also African Americans) that kept following us. Every where we went in the sections he would present himself. Mind you, we were one of the few, if not the only African Americans in the store. I said to my husband, let's go to the other end of the store on the first floor. No sooner than we went to the other end, here he was walking by us and stopping close enough so he could see what we were doing. By this time, I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable because most of the customers in the store were of other races, but he was just on us! After another moment I told my husband to let us go the second level because I wanted to get some flats and I also wanted to see if he was really trailing us. No sooner than we got to the second level here he came, and came walking by us. Were we the only ones in this store that were capable of stealing? Is this the policy of this store? The whole experience was very disheartening and I will never go back to this store. Mark you, I'm a female with a great job and I was dressed moderately. I'll ask this question again, is it the policy of this store or is it this very dark skined man with dreads personal behavior? Go figure. I returned a pair of defective sneakers that the heel was coming off. I had the box , receipt and the sneakers. I bought the 31 dayx prior. I was told and they were firm that footwear can't be worn outside.If they are they can't be returned for credit for store credit no matter what happened to them. Everything is sneaker style, boots were limited, shoes were rugged reminding of construction boots, nothing famine, pretty, and unique. I notice the price discounts no longer exist. Had to make a quick trip for an exchange which was well handled by Justin. I usually make all my purchases online therefore rarely feel the need to go shopping at the store itself. But for those who love in store shopping this location has free parking, kids section, and great inventory. I liked their selection of heels and boots which were very nice. I had purchased a pair of wedge sneakers from online which were slightly loose therefore I went to the store for an exchange. I was given the same discount that was applied to the previous order and free shipping to my house. Customer service is good as everyone was working efficiently on the floor and at the registers. I love DSW selection of shoes and accessories. At this store they have accessories scattered around in different sections but also a small section upon entering the store. I felt the store was clean but I know weekends and afternoons can be busy leading to mess. My trip was at 11:30am luckily no mess yet. read more

I like this location as it is nearby costco and the mall. Very spacious store, multiple floors and a pretty good selection of dress shoes for man. I only buy rockport shoes with the adenipreme soles made by adidas. On this trip i got lucky and i found a pair of black rockport colben oxford shoes for under $80. I figured they were good because of the adidas soles. I have to be honest, i stand in my feet at least 8 hrs, so i have to change my shoes 2x at times and i only wear Rockport shoes because they are comfortable, reliable and look great with my suits. I also bought a pair of wingtips with the same adidas bottom which, i actually on my 3rd pair of the same shoe since they are reliable, comfortable work. UPDATE: The colben rockports are not a very good shoe for standing and walking, i had ti break the shoes in for about 3 weeks, the insoles were supportive, comfortable and they lasted about 3 months. Afterwards, the shoe had no arch support, bought Dr Scholls sport insoles but since i did not try the insoles when I first bought the shoes, it was very tight fitting. Overall, the quality of the leather was very poorly made. After a few scuffs the leather literally lost the black dye, so the shoes developed spots that even if it was shoe shined, you still see the damage on the surface of the leather. On the picture, take a closer look at the wood color particle that separates the sole from the actual shoe. As that wood color band actually makes the shoe have leas flexibility all around. As I entered, there were 2 employees at the door talking to each other but yet managed to greet people as they came in. Wonderful right? Well, not really!!!!! When I was at the register with the pleasant cashier, there were 2 employees talking near me, to my surprise and disappointment one of them mentioned how "Spanish people are the laziest people she knows" They noticed I heard them and quickly lowered their voices. One of them came around the register as she appeared to be leaving and all I saw was the embarrassment on her face. Shame on them!!!!!! This DSW store is much better then the 14th St-Union square location which rarely have wide sizes and the place is always a mess. Two floors and high ceiling make shopping here less claustrophobic. There is a decent selection of winter boots (what we were looking for in our recent trip). They have brands like Cougar, Sorel, Columbia... prices seem competitive to what I've seen online. Sometimes DSW is even cheaper than Amazon. DSW is generous with their coupons and their rewards certificates so I'd recommend signing up for their rewards program. read more

Yet my friends, swear that never find anything they like. Idk. There are a few kinks. Biggest horror is the parking lot. One way in/ one way out on the busiest intersection on the planet. Traffic backs up and you are essentially stuck. Choose your shopping times wisely. At my most recent visit the entire store was flipped upside down.... Boxes strewn Willy nilly.. I am not a gym teacher nor have I ever been; I am a leader and so want to dress the part...but let's be real, I have to walk like 40,000 steps a day. I found exactly what I was looking for and got a cute pair of Dr. Scholl's black slip ins. I saw several others that I liked too and would have bought them but when you're a size 7, it's hard to always find that size in stock. I think they should stock more in the size that is generally average since I'm sure there's plenty of us out there who need that size! Overall, the store was clean and there were several people who worked there on the floor offering help and making sure that things were tidy and put back in their rightful spots. Every couple of months when the weather changes I'll stop in to see what DSW has to offer. The store is big with lots of room to walk around and not feel like you're on top of someone. DSW has heels, boots, sneakers and work out shoes. They also have scarfs, handbags and wallets. DSW has both men and women items for really good prices. Some of the prices can be a little high but the shoe is good quality. They also have a clearance section for men and women. For every woman it's shoes galore! I came here a lot in my past life and DSW offers the Rewards program. This is one of the better locations I've been to. It's a whole building all devoted to DSW. This location has a lot of brand name designers for shoes and styles to choose from. Every woman can spend hours just browsing aisles and aisles of sneakers, dress shoes, sandals, casuals, boots, etc. as the choice is endless. There are shoes for nearly every budget. This location has their own private parking lot which is near a catering venue. I rate it four stars because the only way to access this location is by car. read more

I had made a purchase online to curbside pick up at this location. By the time I made it to the store , it was 6:30 PM and curbside pick up was only available until 6 PM. I decided to walk in and pick up the shoes myself. As I approached the cashier, a teller by the name of Genie helped me. Although she was wearing a mask, I could tell she was going to be a easy experience. She was friendly and patient with me, especially because when I opened the first box of shoes, it seemed one of the shoes had a rip on them. I was able to swap the shoes for the same exact price. I live in Yonkers, NY and I have a DSW very near to my home but if I am ever looking for a particular shoe that my store doesn't have, I know I can find it at Carle Place. They have some of the friendliest and most helpful DSW staff out of all the stores. Their clearance aisles have the most styles I've ever seen out of all the DSW stores I've visited. You would be doing yourself a service if you shopped here occasionally JUST for clearance. I am almost guaranteed to find a cute pair of shoes in clearance EVERY time I've come here. The other day, my sister and I stopped by to exchange a pair of shoes I purchased at another store and I followed my sister upstairs to the clearance section and found the perfect pair of half-off ballet flats. This is my favorite DSW location. DSW is shoe heaven. This store is bright and huge! There are shoes everywhere! There are 3 important reasons to shop at DSW: 1) Anyone can shop at DSW. They have many different name brand shoes for men and women.....sneakers, casual, trendy, dressy, flats, heels, boots and so on. I do not recall seeing kids shoes in stores, but they do have them available online. 2) Really good prices. The regular priced shoes are already underpriced. They show what regular price is right on the display label. Then you have this huge clearance section where shoes are 30%-80% off, and it's not a shabby clearance section at all. 3) Their membership. It's free to become a member and once you do, you get points for buying regular priced shoes and shoes on clearance. Once you get to 1500 points, you get a $10 coupon in the mail. There are certain times in the year where they offer double, triple, 4X, or 5X your points so that coupon can come around a little faster or they'll double it and send you a $20 coupon. They also have free bag events with a purchase, a coupon on your birthday, and other offers. I love the free bags! They get jazzier every time! The clearance rack at this location is awesome! I walked with away with six beautiful pairs of designer shoes for $150, which is about $25 per pair of shoes. One of the pair of boots (black leather and come to the knee; sexy :-) was iriginally $211 and I paid $23 dollars for them! On my last purchase I saved over $400 dollars. Shadia looked up the shoes at several stores in the area and got us the shoes reserved at the broadway location. I liked my visit here, first off its two floors the main floor is all womens shoes and the second has mens. Now the selection itself was decent all around the dress shoes was my reason for coming and i walked out with a pair i was happy with. The store also was decently kept there might of been a few boxes of shoes left lying here or there but it wasnt chaos. Staff was friendly even offered me a discount of 10% if i signed up for the rewards. Trash location. I live in Suffolk county, so I usually go to the lake grove or the syosset locations. I've been to Manhasset once and Carle place 3 times in the last few weeks. Manhasset is fine, it's just a very small store. However, this one is subpar. It's a large location with barely any shoes. Very little mens and a million high heels. The staff seem pretty friendly and always eager to help. I met two managers, one was a guy (I forgot his name), and another manager named Lily. The man was very nice and helpful when I had a question about the clearance prices. However, I asked the woman manager a question about the boots they carry, and she gave me a MAJOR nasty attitude. For a manager, she should have a little more respect. Overall, this location fine if ur a woman. Looking for mens, they're useless and have a rude manager. This DSW location certainly excels in it's selection. However, I still can't seem to find shoes that fit well and are made well. They have a large selection of shoes but I felt they lacked in the sneaker area and this is not just this location but DSW in general. For such a crowded location I would also think they're shoes would have more size selections. While a bigger selection is better it's also a bit overwhelming at this location and it's very crowded on the weekends. Of course in the Westbury area that's to be expected but it makes for a very irritating browsing experience bumping into people, and having to struggle to see the shoes. People also have no common courtesy and sprawl out there shoes and bags in the isles. Perhaps if they made a separate area where you can sit and try on that would make it a bit easier to browse the isles more freely. I would come back here but it wouldn't be my first choice of a DSW location simply because I like less overwhelming places to shop. Of course a wider selection is a plus but for me the parking, crowds and dizzying shoe browsing is a bit much. If you like a large selection and don't mind putting up with a busier shopping experience then go for it. read more
