I found this wonderful store on my visit to Long Island. There are multiple locations and they have shopping online too. They have 2 smaller buildings with accessories and shoes, and a large 2 story building filled with clothes. The selection is amazing. Casual to dressy clothes in many, many styles in so many different fabrics. They had so many beautiful winter items on sale but I was concentrating on spring. The salesperson Sheila, was very helpful and made called another store to see if they had a certain jacket in my size. Some great sales but hit or miss recently. Customer service is good- someone offers to assist or to put your clothes on hold in the fitting room. Maybe it's the pandemic and business being slow but lately I haven't seen any big sales prices. Fox's is one of those hit or miss places but sometimes when you walk in and there's a really good sale, well, you can't deny yourself! I've been a bunch of times and have always had differences in service. My biggest gripe with the business remains with the dressing room situation. No curtains to change with or anything... it's a little much. On my most recent trip I ended up going when they were having a major dress sale, and walked away with a perfect dress for my birthday in a few weeks... for $20! I've had both good and bad interactions with the staff, more recently it's been better. However, I was in the store for a good 40 mins to an hour on this last trip and not one associate came up and asked if I needed help or anything. Kinda weird. The sales associate was super nice at the register. Same deal with Fox's shoe department across the street, no onw asked to help me and I left empty-handed since I wasn't sure what to get. read more

I shopped here whenever I feel like I need "alone moment". This place wow me (even how many times I'd been here) every time I come by. I am always overwhelmed with what they offer , from their artistic displays, to their fashionably sense selections, to whatever designer names they carry. For others, it is a disorganized store, for me , it is making sense as I continued browsing. Today , I concentrate on handbags to match my party dress that is in plan to wear one of this days . I am supposed to buy one only but can't help myself to get another one of different color. Why ? Because the price is unbeatable. Anyway, girls always need bag to match her dress. This place is the kind of "what you see , is what you get" store . Grab it before you won't see again. But be sure of what you really want. when you score here, it's always big. I have bought several coats here ,all unique and reasonably priced. Love their shyloh line they carry, and their french line fait pour vous though they have not had it since summer so hoping it's not obsolete anymore. very few places to shop anymore that have clothing I like--everything else is utilitarian beige, brown, black, navy uniformed generic drab--but fox 's have beautiful detailed and embellished ecletic womenswear that suits my style. This location has much more extensive selection than forest hills, and they are much more customer oriented here, but sometimes you can get lucky at forest hills too. My mom loves this store. She can literally shop for hours here. I absolutely cannot. It's not particularly my style but they have a really good coat selection. Everything else seems to be random you know what. Prices are pretty good though, if that's what you're into. However, calling the clothing "designer" is pushing it. They might have 1 or 2 racks with popular brands, otherwise its brand's I've never heard of. On the plus side, there is usually fresh coffee and pastries in the morning so if you're forced to go here, grab a bite and have a seat. No credit cards-only cash, debit, and checks. 3 day return policy also sucks. read more

I'm indifferent about this place. I mean, they have some REALLY cute stuff but their prices are still a little over my shopping budget. I found two coats that were twenty dollars less in Century 21 so I ended up leaving empty handed. The store/accessory shop across the street is good. I don't do department stores...their sales, coupons, power-hours, door-busters - they drive me nuts! You'll usually find me at Marshall's, TJMaxx, and the like. So discovering Fox's is like discovering secret hiding places as a kid! Great brands in every size...casual, dressy, seasonal - they have it all (well, all for the ladies....no kids or men's section). Be prepared to spend an hour or two going through the racks on two floors to find a few unique items. Definitely not for those who like a few items on a mannequin and a sales associate to run and find your size - you have to search! But it's really not too hard...they have great items and decent prices. Not as cheap as Marshall's, but definitely not as expensive as department stores! If you want to find some designer clothes at 60% retail price; this is the place. The salesperson are very helpful in the clothing store, not in the shoes/ accessory store. The wait at the cash register is very annoying. The brands include pink tartan, Gerard darel, beauty marks, Lafayette, Catherine malandrino, etc. They also have regular department stores brands...the quality is unequal. In winter they have nice mink coat for $2400-2800, a real bargain. The sizes are 0-12. You don't always find matching top and bottoms. The prices are reasonable for brand names. Employees here suck, I asked for an equivalent size on an Italian skirt. The woman at the register promptly told me, "That skirt is too young for you!" That was so rude! I don't think it's a salesperson's place to comment on my choices. I agree with other reviews that thei customer service needs improvement. I am only giving them one star because yelp won't let me put zero . It's a shame too because I actually did find one dress I liked (that I will now be finding on my own thank you internet!) so why the low score ? Service... Clearly no one ever heard the motto "customer is king" at this place. There was a "lady" behind the counter that was literally yelling at a customer who was asking about the no credit card policy. She was yelling at this older couple across the store and was so unbelievably rude. I literally couldn't believe what I was seeing or hearing. My aunt was talking to the older couple to just say that she thought the "lady" was wrong for treating them that way then she got yelled at too before this girl stormed off the register. Still wanting to salvage the experience by getting my dress I get to the front , get passed off to someone else only to find my dress didn't have a price tag, there were no other dresses and it would take a few days for them to talk to the warehouse to even find out how much the dress is. Today was my first time shopping at Fox's. I've always seen it out of the window whenever I took the train in for work. My two coworkers wanted to and I had to find a dress for graduation anyway so I tagged along. We stopped first at the Shoe and Accessories store. It's a little messy in there but I immediately had a sense of sensory overload. I didn't know where to look first! Since I didn't have a dress in mind yet, I casually browsed their stock. I liked the variety of necklaces. I didn't have need for shoes so I wasn't inclined to look, but they seem to have a lot there (not nearly as much as say, DSW though). I went over across the street to their apparel shop to get a head start on looking for a dress. They have a small section dedicated to dresses and other dresses scattered throughout the rest of the store. I managed to find a really cute Ellen Tracy dress for $60, which isn't too shabby at all. I tend not to buy dresses over $100 so I figured this was a good find. The only complaint I have is the open dressing room. I mean really? Is it that much more expensive to get sheets or drapes to cover up the little cubbies?? I mean I don't really care, I change in the gym lockerroom all the time but there are individual slots for fitting rooms, it wouldnt be hard to install a pole and a curtain! They also don't accept credit cards so make sure you have enough cas on you (luckily I did hehe). read more

All my coworkers rave about this place, so I decided to do some browsing during my lunch break. It's a little disorganized, which irks me. The racks hold random mixed items in no particular order. They don't seem to carry smaller sizes or more modern designs for younger women, either. And the fitting room is open-style - which makes me a little uncomfortable since I like having privacy when I'm trying on clothes. I do admit that the quality of their items is great and the prices are decent, so I ended up walking out with two cardigans and a dressy top for around $20 each. Not bad, but the fact that they DO NOT accept credit cards is a dealbreaker. read more

While I was on Jury Duty I ended up shopping here a lot on my breaks. I was on Grand Jury so I spent a month in Mineola, despite the fact that most people hate Jury Duty I really loved serving. I'm a weird one. Fox's is basically two stores right across the street from each other. They are the equivalent to Loehmann's in Hewlett and the magic sale price they use a lot is $19. I bought one pair of sandals for the summer here and every time I wear them I get complimented, I also bought a bag, a sweater and some presents while I spent time serving. The shoe store is one floor, there are many pairs of shoes artfully placed around the store, they have a clearance section in the back of the store. In addition to shoes, there is a decent bag selection and a lot of jewelry. The clothing store has two separate floors, there's so many dresses to choose from and a variety of different prices. I really liked this one dress I saw but it was $300 way above my price budget for a dress. Fox's is definitely a shopping treasure trove of goodness. read more

I usually stop into the shoe store first, and its a hazard trying walk in the store. Its very disorganized and the brands they carry are mediocre. Not much of a selection in the front. The back is usually sale items. The jewelry is costume and occasionally I find something fun. The apparel store is great if you catch it just as they're putting out the new goods. Its hard for me to find and pants with the matching top. Never enough inventory but the staff will try and locate it for you. Ive found some great pieces here, so Im a fan. I actually enjoy the "search" The no credit card policy is probably to keep pricing lower. They do take a debit card. As far as the dressing rooms a little privacy would be greatly appreciated. All in all, its hit or miss for me at Fox's. I live nearby to stopping in few a quick stroll isn't a problem. read more

I went into their shoe store today about 11:00am. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. I had finished work and I was waiting for my train back into the city. The moment I walked in, the woman behind the counter saw me and came out from behind the counter. There were two other three other women in there. At first I thought nothing of it, but then I realized she was following me around. Just to explain why I felt uncomfortable... I am Hispanic and the other costumers in the store, including the employee were Caucasian. I didn't want to jump to conclusions, I kept walking around the aisles purposefully just to be sure I wasn't being paranoid...and I wasn't. She followed two steps behind me the whole time. So I stopped in front of a mirror to see what she would do and believe it or not she stopped and stood there watching me. In the meantime, the other Caucasian women were walking around freely and she did not pay the any mind. I was furious and although I should have recorded it and said something the fact that I was experiencing this made me so angry that I just walked out with pain in my heart knowing that if I confronted her I could have been thrown out on top of feeling discriminated against. I am a 42 year old hardworking woman and I cannot believe I am still experiencing these things at this age. I will never ever step foot into fox's in Mineola again and I will make sure everyone I know.. is aware of what I experienced. Shame on that woman and shame on Fox's for employing this woman. I really wish I didn't have to give this place one star, but yelp doesn't have a zero star rating. read more

They have a good selection of shoes that changes with the seasons- however their employees could improve. Theres always so many stacking boxes and taking inventory while you are shopping so they are constantly asking you to move out of the way- this makes the whole shopping experience unpleasant. Stocking items and inventory shouldnt be done while people are shopping in a SMALL store. Also one of the ladies has a lot of attitude both on the phone and in person. read more

Going to Fox's is like visiting a designer's flee market. You can always find something for a reasonable price, but you have to search for your perfect piece. The clothing and jewelry selections are always nice. The shoes, bags and accessories are also very nice. This store is great to visit at least once a month or weekly if you can because they get new pieces all throughout the week.
