This location is huge. The good deals are in the very back- I found some very cute shoes for only about $10!! The employees are nice when I checked out at the register. I really liked how clean and organized the store was, even in the clearance section. Someone was always rearranging the shelves. Bathrooms are pretty clean, and it was nice they have water fountains. My shoes came a completely different color than that shown on the site. They're called metallic gold but presented on the site as a mellow color; when they arrived they're startlingly yellow gold and garish. And I can only return via FedEx, which doesn't exist in my neighborhoos. read more

This location is big and a little messier than other locations where I have shopped. On the Friday afternoon that I was there it seemed understaffed. The associates didn't seem as friendly either. Once you walk in, go straight to the back and check out the clearance section first and then move your way up towards the front. I love that they sell all kind of shoes from heels, to sandals, to tennis shoes to anything you can think of. They always have a sale going on where you can get 30%-50% off, now that's a deal! Here is another first-time place for me today. I have heard about people talking about DSW shoes but have never shopped here. My big conclusion is I need to get out of my fancy department store boxes and come here more often. They have many of the same brands as where I usually shop at much better prices. The caveat is that this place is pretty much self serve which I do not think is a bad thing. Rather than find the person that can run to the back find you a particular shoe size while they're finding someone else 3 or 4 different shoes and waiting and waiting and waiting on the little try on bench this place has the stacks of shoes right there in front of you and you can find them yourself put them on yourself and decide whether you like them without someone staring your down asking you if you want them to box them up for you. Don't come here if you want the high-end experience or the boutique Shoe Shop type of experience, but do come here if you don't mind waiting on yourself a little bit and boxing up your own shoes and taking them to the counter yourself. Your reward will be a great pair of shoes at a very fair price. read more

I know, I know it's a chain store for shoes but it totally is worth a review! Why? Because I have gone to a lot of DSWs and similar stores and this store is just hands down one of the best. Not only is the customer service great but it's neat, clean and organized. If for the rare chance you can't find your size there is always someone around or when you check out that will help you find it at another location or online and ship it to your house for free. It always makes me nervous to purchase a shoe without trying on but there return policy is great. You can bring it back and they still won't charge you for the shipping. Honestly I would say there customer service is up there with Nordstrom but they prices you can't beat. Definitely sign up for their rewards program as you get discounts and gift certificates to spend in the store. I was just there to use my birthday reward but left it at home and they girl gave me my $5 off without any hesitation. She didn't even check to make sure it was my birthday and I was impressed with her eagerness to do it. The other great thing is that even if you buy shoes on one of their great sales they will still let you return if it doesn't work out for you. This has to be my favorite department shoe store because I always find exactly what I'm looking for! The sale section is either a hit or miss sometimes because you may find a discounted pair of heels or shoes which is still $70 and it's bad quality but I always look through the isles then go to sale section because I go here with a plan so I don't end up buying hundreds of dollars worth of shoes. The cashiers and staff are extremely kind and attentive and if you need a personal shopping assistant, go ahead and ask one of the staff members and you will be assisted. I made a purchase partially online and in store because I saw that it came with a free weekender bag with a purchase of $49.99. The day after I placed this order I received an email that my order had shipped, this being the 14th of March. I then informed two other people to place orders to receive this bag and they did. One in NY, and the other in Georgia and I'm here in Texas and haven't received mine and it's the 19th of March. I called DSW on the 17th of March when I saw that there was no progress of the shipment and the chat representative basically blew me off but stated that they'd give me a 100 points and no this didn't happen. I didn't make a big deal about it because I didn't really care but the conversation that I had today with a supervisor really upset me! FedEx stayed that they never received an item just a notification for a shipping label and advised me to call DSW and let them know. Long story short she/supervisor offered me a $25 credit that's BS considering the amount of money that I spend here! Placed me on a long hold to come back and offer this to a so called Elite VIP customer who by the way NEVER get my packages 2- day shipping! Canceling this account and will get shoes from the actual stores or shoe manufacturer website. I cannot deal with this sub-prime customer service. read more

I am a guy and hate shopping, especially for shoes. However, I do not mind DSW. Why? HUGE selection of men's casual and dress shoes, reasonable prices and attractive women! I always see nice looking women shopping and sometimes working there and it is always good to have a woman give her opinion on what looks good on a guy. The prices are right on as compared to other stores, even online. I looked up the price of a pair I was interested in on Amazon and DSW was cheaper. The only thing I am not a fan of is the only shoes they have for sale is what is out on display. There are no shoes in the back, so if your size or color is not out front - they do not have it. I prefer shopping here later in the evening during the week. It is not so busy then. Oh, and don't forget the sale racks straight back in the back. A few good deals can be had there. read more

I found a pair of shoes for $45 that I fell in love with, but not in my size. I asked if they could order-no. While in the store I found exact shoe on Amazon for $26. I asked if DSW could price match-no. I bought them on Amazon. DSW prices are not as great as they claim. I price compare and while they're cheaper than the mall, they're still high. You can actually walk down the isles without bumping into other people who are shopping or trying on shoes. They have sales often and a good selection of name brands. The staff is helpful, and they can call another location to find your shoe. For as much as this place has to offer, it stays very organized. This is not your average bargain shoe shopping experience. There all all sorts of brands to buy, more than you would find at a typical department store and the prices are much lower! You can join the free "club" and get even more discounts and coupons in the mail. There are shoes for both men and women, for every occasion. They also have accessories like purses, socks, and hats. Great customer service sets this store apart. I'm not a shoe shopper ... or any kind of shopper. Okay well, I do like grocery shopping but anything else is a bother to me so I keep shopping trips to a minimum. I digress. Recently, I needed shoes for this thing and I did my usual routine of shopping online. I found a shoe I loved at the online store but I had to go in to try the shoe on. That's when I discovered I like this store. In case there's someone who doesn't know, this is a store that offers hundreds of name brand shoes at discounted prices. For me, that's perfect. That means I should only have to go to one store to find something I need. Long story short, I ordered the shoe through the store, someone stole the shoes from my porch, DSW suggested a replacement order because I needed them right away, the replacement order came in the wrong color, I went back to the store, the store ordered them next day delivery in the correct color, that somehow resulted in a small credit in the form of a gift card, and I eventually got the shoes I wanted. Three months after the aforementioned montage of events, I visited the store because I needed shoes for a different event. I found the perfect color match, the shoes were 40% off, and they were even patterned in such a way that made them look like my dress maker also made the shoes. As I headed to check out, the same GORGEOUS guy who helped me during the 1st two visits appeared and I remembered I never asked for a refund for the stolen shoes. Montage: He reminded me, I'm like oh yea, he called customer service, they said they'd refund the $$ to my card, he rang up my new shoes and told me that if I didn't see the refund in ~ 3 days I could come back and he would call for me again. I love that nobody in this process gave me a hard time. Everyone was all about fixing MY ISSUES. I love that this manager took my issues personally like it was his responsibility to make sure it all worked out. I will shop there again. read more

I've had a lot of success at this location--usually the size 6s are all gone when I go to DSW, but I guess the people with little feet shop elsewhere in Addison. Yay! In any case, I've found the quality to be pretty hit or miss, but then I can be pretty hard on my shoes, too. The selection is bountiful, the prices are mostly reasonable, and in the fall they usually have a great selection of tights. Can you say SHOES? Biggest selection in Dallas, and I've been to quite a few DSW's in the Dallas Metroplex. They even have upscale shoes in the front (for those who like designer shoes). Since I've been back, they've expanded their store to include designer purses. They also have a large clearance section in the back (that I go to once in a while when I have the time since they can sometimes have great deals, with up to 50% off shoes). Take the time to look, because there are TONS of shoes. If you sign up for their free rewards card, you'll start accumulating points to receive discounts to shoes after you've spent a certain amount and a gift certificate the month of your birthday! Definitely a place worth going to if you're in need of a shoe. It was definitely quite helpful when I was looking for shoes for special occasions like my wedding, my friend's wedding (when I was a bridesmaid), and shoes for travel (when I went overseas and needed a warm shoe for the winter). read more

The one thing I like about the front of the store when you walk in, is that it could look overwhelming, but they have done an amazing job as to how all the shoes flow in the store. I've been coming to this place for years, purely because of the deals. They have mens and womens shoes of ALL styles. I can get shoes for work as well as work outs all in the same place. I like that they carry most name brands! It gets very crowded and takes a lot of hunting by you as the shopper for the perfect shoe, then the correct size. Most of their staff is at the front, so tracking someone down can be difficult at times. They also need an update on their POS system badly! We ordered shoes from them last week and it took several minutes for each page to load on their screen. Outdated technology for sure. read more

Don't ever ask them to HOLD or Ship a order to their store!!! I asked them to HOLD a pair of Marc Fischer shoes for me until the 2nd pair I ordered came in due to the ones IN store had a snag in the fabric. I clearly stated no matter what I needed either pair because I was in a Wedding!!! Needless to say they SOLD MY ON HOLD SHOES and the ones I ordered didn't come in after a full week of waiting to be shipped! I've bought 3 pairs of shoes from this place in the past three months. I have also exchanged a pair of shoes without any hassle. The certificates (birthday, welcome and reward), if you can get them to add up around the same time, are great, total about $25. While I am kicking myself for getting shoes at full price instead of waiting for them to go on sale or even clearance (at the very back of the store), the shoes were great quality and DSW really does stand behind their products. When one pair of shoes started to fall apart within three months, they took it back without any fuss. I was even able to get the receipt from their online customer service after one email.
