Beware. I would rate my recent experience as minus 10, were such a category available. I had only good experiences with this store for about 14 years, until May 5, when I attempted to return a pair of ordered online on May 2. The shoes were too big and when I attempted to return them on May 5 , the return was rejected with no explanation other than a rejection receipt telling me to call The Retail Equation. The shoes were unworn; undamaged; boxed, and not treated or subject to a final sale. They were returned within three days of purchase. The Retail Equation website says the retailer determines the return; the DSW manager said it's up to the Retail Equation. I have filed a complaint with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs for violation of the statute governing , among other things, posting of return policies. I sent a certified letter to DSW on May 12, requesting a refund and explanation. I attached full documentation of the purchase and the rejection receipt . Then, I contacted my credit card company and today received a response stating DSW claims it never received communication from me about the issue, which is untrue. I sent a certified letter with documentation on May 12. Retail Equation is subject to a class action lawsuit in California for its antics with DSW and other retailers. Tread carefully if you deal with this retailer. read more

I placed an online order for a pair of shoes for pickup at the Marlton location this morning and they were ready within and hour. When I went to pick them up there was a massive line and it took about 15 minutes to get to the counter. I asked the associate for the free cooler since it wasn't provided at the time of pickup and she and her fellow associate got snappy at me. They eventually gave me the cooler that I had earned with my over $50 purchase. I was done with the transaction and took two steps out the door and realized they gave me a size 11 when I had placed the order for size 8. I had to wait in the long line again, and when I told them they fulfilled the wrong size they told me they would need to go look to even see if they had an 8. The store didn't have a size 8 after all and they told me to go to Centerton or Mount Laurel to see if they have it there. They were extremely rude and it was very bad customer service. They didn't offer to call or put it on hold at any other location or order it on expedited shipping for me. I am very disappointed in the service I received and will not be back at this location. read more

Misleading promotions. I received a coupon for $30 off purchases of $49 or more. I picked out two pairs of shoes, a pair of Brooks and New Balance respectively, before being told that those brands along with two dozen others were excluded from the offer. The coupon noted that exclusions applied but I'm stunned that so many common brands were ineligible. The cashier herself gawked at the length of the excluded brands list. What's the point in providing customers with deceptive coupons other than to leave them frustrated? -Disappointed. read more

I ordered three pair of shoes from DSW online on July 5. On July 10 one of the pair was canceled by them. They gave me a code for 30% off on my next purchase. On July 11, the second pair of shoes was canceled by them. They gave me a code for 30% off my Next purchase. I had used the first 30% off and the second 30% off was identical to the first one so it was unusable. The third pair of shoes said it was shipped on 7/7. It was not, it was sitting in some warehouse waiting for FedEx and as of right now on, 7/18 it still is. I called their service number at about 3 o'clock today and stayed on hold for 30 minutes and finally took the option of having them call me back. They finally called me back at 7:30 tonight. I had to spend another 20 minutes on the phone line telling them to cancel the third pair of shoes because they are still sitting in some warehouse waiting to be shipped. This has been an unbelievably messed up transaction and I cannot recommend DSW's online ordering. I do not know why they canceled the shoes. I still see them on their site. I do not know why they said they shipped a pair of shoes that is still sitting in a warehouse somewhere. I do not know why it would take so long for them to return my phone call. I just left the store in marlton , the only person that made eye contact was the gentleman collecting & bagging up trash ! I waited in line for 17 minutes at 4pm , there was one cashier. I was my ext in line which continued to grow. there was another worker next to her doing some type of inventory. at some point she left with boxes of shoes then another women came over , again no eye contact . I later find out she was the mgr , Sandra when asked why do you allow 5 customers to wait in line to take their money ??? she replied , she has to call for back up ? I ordered a pair of shoes on-line and had them delivered to the store. I picked them up and went home and found that they were to narrow. I checked the website and started the return process and found that it showed that I had not picked them up. I checked my credit card account and I was not charged. I did not want to keep them so I returned to the store and I explained the situation. The associate at the register did not know how to process this and she called over the manager. Talk about poor customer service, the manger did not acknowledge me and never "thanked" me for the return, neither did the associate. Every time i go to a DSW i make sure to give myself at least an hour. As you are well aware DSW is a simple concept. it's rows of shoes. up and down you can get lost in all of it, but I've never made a bad purchase from this location. Last time i was here i also purchased the cutest book bag for my trip to Greece. DSW just like most retailers offer a lot of coupons via email/text if you opt for that option. I would definitely sign up if you aren't as the emails include great deals. The month of your birthday you always have $5 off a purchase. One thing about this particular location i would highlight is the fact that they only have about 2-3 registers and I swear it is always packed. read more

This visit to DSW was bitter sweet. Although I was able to find a casual pair of shoes, it was short lived because I rethought my decision about the look of the shoes going with the pants and ultimately had to return them. The goal was to exchange them for another casual pair but with limited selections in my shoe size, I was forced to just ask for a refund. Heres my review of DSW... Positive: Overall, great destination for footwear. The selection of casual and dress shoes is endless. Although I dont come to this store as often as I would like, it truly is a good thing to see how this store has a great selection if affordable casual, dress shoes and sneakers. Casual loafers and dress shoes from Calvin Klein, Aldo, Rockpost, Sketchers, and Steve Madden for instance flood the store from one side to the opposite side. An added bonus are coupons you receive by mail to take mibey off of shoes if you shop often there. I was lucky enough to utilize this. Negative: My only complaint is shoe styles I was intetested in getting at both the Marlton and Cherry Hill has various shoes that were not in my size (13). Thousands of options can be overwhelming, but they've got it organized by gender then style, so you can hone in on what you're looking for. Or maybe you're looking to look. If so, grab a big black tote to hold your findings and don't miss the back room. It's sale central. And while some stuff is tacky and understandably marked down, some of it makes you do a double take and wonder if it's been misplaced. I haven't walked away once without finding something I wanted. This is my first stop when shoe-shopping. Joining their rewards program was a no-brainer for me; every dollar I spend earns me a point and before I know it, I've got a certificate worth at least $10 off my next purchase. Store is nice, clean and organized. Plenty of staff on the sales floor. However, when I went to purchase the sandals I found, there was one cashier and three customers in line. First customer and the cashier were just standing there, staring at each other. A few words were exchanged. But nothing was being rung up or returned or anything. Just standing and staring. Another employee was at the end of the cash register line, chatting on the phone or something. Not paying attention to a growing line. I'm waiting... Tap, tap, tap.... So while waiting, I find the same pair of sandals on line and purchase it, for $6 less than the clearance price. Woohoo! What could have kept me in the store? A few words from staff. "Sorry for the wait. We'll be with you in a few moments". Or, "Thanks for your patience. I'll call up another cashier" Perhaps they are better staffed on other days. I don't know. read more

Stopped in for the wife who was looking for some dress shoes. A large open floor plan with isle upon isle of women's and men's shoes. From fancy dress ware to rugged boots this place seems to have it all. Plenty of space to try on for fit and comfort. Quantities of styles are limited so repeat trips may be necessary to find the right shoes for your needs. Give them a try. Definitely additional visits in the future. read more

Where are the wides ??All those shoes ... rows and rows , including kids . I found 1 wide shoe ( not what I was looking for) in the entire store . Not limited to this location , others are no better . If you're lucky enough to find someone to help you they will direct you to the computer to order them online . Love, love, love it! It's set up like a modern warehouse with all of the shoes out so you don't need a sales person to get your shoes for you. Always can find what i'm looking for and they carry size 11 and mark it with a yellow sticker which makes it easier to spot. They have a very large selection. Visiting here from California and wanted to shop at this location. We have a wonderful DSW in Ontario California. Was very disappointed in this location. They not only ran out of the free yoga mats (cashier said their supply lasted only 6 days). My daughter purchased a pair of shoes and was told there were NO bags available. This is my go to place for shoes! Yes, it's a little pricey, but if you're looking for high quality shoes then you'll find them here. I love the fact that the sizes are right below the shoes displayed. This is far easier than other stores that make you hunt down an employee just to get your size for you. It's also very clean and organized every time I go. There are no boxes or shoes to step over that other customers may have left behind like in other stores. This store keeps the isles clean at all times. Also, do yourself a favor if you want to save money here and there. Become a rewards member. You'll receive coupons in the mail. These coupons are actually good! I just saved myself 30 dollars on a pair of shoes because I had both a 10 dollar certificate, and a 20 dollar certificate (yes, you can combine) that I got in the mail just for being a member.
