Sean was the customer service rep that helped her, he was extremely impatient & seem as though he didn't have time for me. My experience was very underwhelming to the point where I had to sit down and do my own research in the store because my questions that I had were not getting answered. This store is so pushy and shady. Do not accept the offer for VIP, or let them test your feet for the right sneakers without asking questions. They'll be slick and give you these black socks to try on, and then charge you at the end unless you say no. They'll charge you $150 for orthotic type inner soles at the end too without telling you the price upfront. I had to tell them no to everything. I can get my own custom made orthotics for nothing. The salesperson did say that my orthotics from them can get reimbursed through insurance. If that's true, great if not, we have a problem if she gives out false information to customers. They FORCE the VIP club down your throat, it's disgusting. I would not come here again. read more

These thieves started charging my credit card for someone else's account because I bought something giving that person the points, that was it. It was discussed in store and everything was fine. Now, a year later her card was declined, so they went automatically to my card not listed on her account as a member just purchased something and started charging me. Do yourself a favor and don't get involved in their memberships. This should have never happened. Her card was declined. It was her account and her account card should have been charged, not mine. If it were declined, you notify that person. You don't charge a card that bought something on the account that has nothing to do with the other person's membership. read more

I've been a loyal Road Runner Sports customer for over 5 years, but this has been the worst experience I've had--and it may be the last time I order from them. I purchased a pair of Men's Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 (size 11.5 4E). I've consistently worn size 11.5 across many brands, but the pair I received was clearly oversized and not true to standard sizing. I had to reorder a size 11, which fit exactly like a typical 11.5--confirming the original item was materially off. When I contacted customer service, I was told I would need to pay for the return--even though the product did not match expected sizing. This is both unfair and against core consumer protection principles. Under basic consumer law--including the Federal Trade Commission Act and state consumer protection laws--companies are prohibited from deceptive or unfair business practices, which includes selling materially misrepresented goods and then placing the burden of return on the customer. If a product deviates from what was reasonably advertised or expected, the seller is typically responsible for rectifying the issue, not the buyer. I've filed a dispute with my credit card company and plan to report this to the appropriate consumer protection agencies. After years of ordering from Road Runner, I'm truly disappointed. Unless the company rethinks how it handles product discrepancies and return fairness, I won't be returning as a customer. read more

This place was recommended to me, but I don't know why. I've never seen a place with such a huge number of ugly shoes. Seriously, who the heck would want to be seen in public with those things. They make you walk barefoot on a treadmill, and I didn't see any procedures in place to disinfect it. Can't wait for a raging athlete's foot infection to develop now. The staff was uncaring at best. I was in the market for new sneakers and Road Runner Sports was recommended by a coworker. I stopped in on a busy Friday evening and was very impressed with the time, care and professionalism that I received from Paul. He did not rush me, explained everything yet did not pressure me to buy and even put up with my corny mom jokes! In the end, I did buy a pair of Hokas and an insert. The effect was immediate. I went for my first long walk this morning and my feet feel great. Not a bit achy as often experienced before. Paul is a credit to the company and I will personally recommend him. I'm not sure how they have such a high rating. I came in for running shoes in early July. I came in the middle of the day figuring they wouldn't be busy. Instead, I had to wait nearly 40 minutes while twelve servicemen were fitted and purchased shoes. Why they had every staff member helping one group is beyond me, but fine. I was fitted, pressured to purchase insoles and socks, which I declined several times. Fast forward to last week. I had purchased the VIP membership last July, and went in with my other half. The guy fitting him misread his gait, sold him stability shoes, which we needed to return four days later since they were impossible to run in. Here's where things really went south. We had to wait 20 minutes to return the shoe since no staff waited on us. One actually said when we finally got to the register, "You'll have to wait a minute." It was an additional ten. The girl in line behind us had to leave without seeing anyone since she was there on her dinner break and it was over. Then we waited another 20 to have his gait analyzed again. This time he's a neutral gait and again, the hustling of the insoles. After nearly an hour, we left without looking at more shoes. This location has some unknowledgeable staff and lacks basic customer service skills. It's a money grab here. I will return to the other local, independent running company that may cost more, but is interested in fitting you properly. read more

I'm relatively new to running and have been getting my sneakers at a running store in Philly. I heard about Road Runner and I'm training for my first Broad St so I went to see what it was all about. Addie filmed me running on a treadmill, measured my arches, got a 3-D representation of my feet and ankles, showed me the natural bend from my ankles up to my knees, made custom molds, gave me a foot roller and ran an analysis of which shoes would be best based on all of that. I spent two hours with her and she was so patient and wonderful and I left with items I think will help me stay injury free through my training. Thank you Addie! read more

I will not buy my running/walking/hiking shoes anywhere else. The service is excellent, very individualized, and provides an excellent assessment of your needs. I was experiencing back pain while standing. My sales associate, Donyeah, was able to analyze my problem and provide orthotics that stopped the pain! Fantastic experience all around at Road Runner Sports in Cherry Hill. My husband and I stopped in to check his shoes because he was having shin splints, and I wanted to get new shoes for walking. All employees we encountered were pleasant and helpful, but Rebecca, our fit expert was The Best! She was super personable, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful in answering our questions and concerns. She helped us find the best shoes for our gait and foot size/shape, and even fit us for custom insoles. I heard about this store from a friend who loves it and I am I was looking for a new running shoe and gave it a shot. I am just getting into serious running and wanted a shoe to do a upcoming 10k. First impression is important and I was greeted by all the staff walking in the door. I was helped by Addie who was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They help you by putting you a treadmill and taking a video of you running to learn your stride. They 3D print your feet and Addie actually gave me some running pointers to fix my stride. After all the technical stuff she brought out 4 different pairs of sneakers to see which one suited me best. I have shopped at this store only once before, and I was signed up for a 'VIP' program (I don't remember doing it, but I do feel like I was told it would allow me to receive information on my feet sizing, so I'm assuming I agreed to some sort of signup while I was there). I was absolutely not made aware of any charges associated with this sign up at all. I never would have signed up for this program had I been made aware of charges associated. Almost a year after my one-time purchase at this store, my credit card was charged $59.99 for a 'Membership Fee'. Without my consent, Road Runner Sports illegally kept my credit card number on file and charged me $59.99... 365+ days after I shopped at their store ONE TIME. I will never shop at a Road Runner Sports store again, and this store should be ashamed for withholding information from a customer about the details of what exactly a program signup entailed. I had the perfect Visit to roadrunner today. Went in because I needed some insoles to help my flat feet and torn tendons. Kristina aka. Kristi helped me with everything and helped so much I ended up leaving out with a pair of sneaks because they felt like "HEAVEN" . This is my first review on Yelp. This week I went to Road Runner with hopes to buy another pair of New Balance sneakers, the same kind I've bought previously. The pair I like was now updated, and I wasn't a fan of the update. Taylor, a store supervisor, worked with me patiently for over an hour to try to find some shoes that fit nicely. I have unique feet (women's 12 wide with no arch), and I always have to buy men's sneakers. Though my size was not in the store, Taylor used the men's versions of shoes to compare what the women's would be and ordered them to come to my house. Of course I was I nervous that they wouldn't fit because nearly everything that I order online does not fit. The shoes came quickly, and I tried on both pairs. Both pairs fit wonderfully, and they are women's shoes!! The secret? With the 3d technology in store and her expertise, Taylor told me that I don't have a wide foot; I have a wide instep which causes me to need wide shoes. She looked for shoes that she knows have a wider instep so that they'd be comfortable. My mind was blown! I've visited Road Runner before and was underwhelmed. This experience with Taylor changed that, and now I will go when she's there because she definitely knows what she's doing and has a passion for finding the perfect shoes for customers. The 3D technology is pretty cool; I definitely advise anyone who has a hard to fit foot to definitely check out Road Runner Sports and ask for Taylor. read more

Pro: This is how one should shop for running shoes! The staff at RRS was prompt in executing a computerized gate analysis to determine how I place and what shoes suit my running style. (Say that fast 50 times!) I was presented with about half a dozen options and have been completely satisfied with all my subsequent visits and the products obtained. Another option worth checking out is the custom-fitted insoles that RRS offers. No more plantar fasciitis for this guy! Con: Pricey, but you get what you pay for! Bottom Line: If you're comfy in your Sketchers as you take a leisurely stroll around the block, maybe you should stick with that. But for the "5K run a few times a week" crowd, invest in yourself here. If you're a marathon veteran, you probably have been here more than I have! read more

My friend needed new sneakers for a half marathon that she is training for so we came here for her to get fitted for new sneakers. The whole staff made our experience a spectacular one from start to finish. I believe Glen was the fit expert that helped my friend find the perfect pair of sneakers and she got the custom insole made. While I was waiting for her - I couldn't leave things well enough alone and bought yet more stuff. It's the service!! You can't find better service, you just can't! You could go to a big box store & have someone go in the back and bring you a pair of shoes or you could come here & talk to a well trained highly engaged runner who is passionate about the sport. As a professional career server, the one crucial tool of the trade are my feet! I discovered Road Runner after developing Planters Fasciitis some years back. A coworker suggested Road Runners specifically for the custom insoles! I was sceptic but the moment I walked into the store to the moment I put them in my work shoes, I had no regrets! Worth every Penny! Years later and now retired, that pesky Planters Fasciitis reared its ugly head again and lo and behold I found myself right back at Road Runners! I made an appointment to make it more convenient and Marla hooked me right up! Seriously! She took her time getting me comfortable and answering my questions and concerns! Not only did I discover I was wearing the wrong size shoe, she had me try on a few sizes and styles! She even refitted and remolded a new insole to fit the shoe correctly! I've been wearing my new sneakers for over a week now and have already felt a vast improvement! My daughter in law was so impressed by my experience that we went back the following week for her! Upon arrival I expected a quality experience from knowledgeable staff. What i received was condescending remarks and a bad attitude from the salesperson. The computerized analysis (Shoe Dog Analysis) and recommendation for shoe type was a different/cool experience. It was informative to see how I was walking and take recommendations based on several factors. The pleasantry ended there. I was looking for a hybrid walking/running shoe. If you're working in a shoe store, your jurisdiction is limited to ringing up items, smiling and meeting the customer with an agreeable demeanor. Being informative of other options is obviously a granted. The salesperson impeded my experience and denied his own company a sale - and beyond that - a customer who would have returned if he had a positive first experience. I understand you 'recommend' shoes based off several factors. The bottom line is if I want a shoe for aesthetic purposes, it is not your place to be condescending in response. I mentioned running only initially, but when mentioning I might just use a pair of shoes to walk around work with, I quite literally was told "This is a running store." I am not oblivious. I can see that. As if I didn't get into my car and drive to the store to deliberately buy a pair of sneakers/shoes. Totally disrespectful and sleazy experience. Thanks Ed ! Came in with my dad for both of us to get new running shoes! We were both extremely satisfied with the service and the Shoe Dog analysis that they do here! I have never had better service than I did here! Peter was great and helpful! He was a wealth of knowledge when completing the Shoe Dog analysis and so helpful with assisting us on choosing shoes! In addition to the service, the Shoe Dog analysis is great in helping find the perfect fit! Peter made us custom insoles with the results from the test on how we stand and our run. They are optional to buy! We did both purchase them because the VIP membership gave us a good discount so that are shoes & custom insoles were the same price as they would be at other running stores! Absolute worst customer service in this store. If you actually get someone to speak with you to help you (and that's a big if because often times they will ignore you to speak with each other instead), the first thing they will do is try to either get you to join their VIP program and/or purchase molded insoles for $70+ Then if you say no, they will treat you like garbage like you've done something wrong. After I said no to the sales pitch, the woman pawned me off on this poor new employee who had absolutely no place being on the floor helping customers since she knew so little about any of the shoes or technology and was constantly looking around at her coworkers (who were standing around doing nothing) desperately for help with every single thing. After I said I was fine because I just couldn't watch this girl flounder any longer, the rest of the team decided I was enemy #1 and were all incredibly cold, rude and snarky to me. I asked one associate to try the treadmill and asked how that process worked (I was trying to be polite and not just hop on there in case they had a process for that ie a line, permission, anything), she literally laughed in my face and sarcastically said, "you get on the treadmill and press start and start running." Sarcastic and rude. I will never, ever return and will be happy to share my experience with my family, friends and network. This store is a mess. read more
