I went in to look for low calf or ankle boots (which I knew was a long shot so close to summer) and a new pair of workout sneakers. They only had a few pairs of boots and the only ankle boots weren't comfortable. The did, however, have about 2 or 3 long aisles of sneakers. I did find a pair of Asics. They really had so many to choose from. The aisles were very clean and organized. I didn't really see too many employees on the floor, but the cashier was very friendly and offered a service to waterproof any shoe. Most box retail spaces don't have very many in store options to try on anymore so it's great to be able to come here if you need something quick or even for a specific event. Bottomline: If the have the shoes, great, buy them. If you have to order them, forget it! It's a huge waste of time. Recently purchased shoes from DSW near Target on Dale Mabry. I usually save the box but the box was damaged when we bought the shoes so it was put in the recycling bin at home. My husband never wore the shoes. I tried to return the shoes with the receipt. The store manager would only offer a store credit because we didn't have the box. Huge selection that's well organized. I hate buying things at full price. I just enjoy the thought of getting a deal. This is why I'm a huge fan of outlets and usually do most of my shopping there. Unfortunately, my sandals broke and I'm the type of person who lives on the edge and didn't have a second pair of sandals that were suitable to the long walks I like to take. Yes, I should use tennis shoes, but we are in Florida, it's hot. My husband magnanimously told me to take the day and go shopping while he watched our son. You don't have to tell me twice. Actually, you have to tell me at least five times because I worry that nobody can care for my son as well as I can. Instead of driving all the way out to the outlets, I decided DSW would do just as fine since I only needed shoes. I always go straight to the clearance section. What's better than sales, even more discounted sales! I tried on all reasonably nice looking walking sandals, found two pairs that fit the bill, made a decision between those two pairs, then checked out. It cost me less than $40! I always notice that this DSW is brightly lit, clean, and well organized. After reading Yelp reviews it seems like I should sign up for their club. Located in the same plaza as Home Depot, Nordstrom Rack, Target, Whole Foods & many more businesses, one can accomplish many shopping objectives without even leaving the parking lot! However, getting OUT of the parking lot often requires a great deal of patience. There are basically two main ways in and out, and that is just not sufficient for a business plaza of this size. Regardless, DSW makes the trip worth the hassle. They have a wide variety of women's shoes and bags in plenty of sizes and colors at incredibly reasonable prices! Their sale section is located at the rear of the store which is similar to most locations, and the shoes are all in pretty good order. If you're looking for something particular, you can try to hunt down a DSW rep (which can be a little hard to do if they're real busy). I have also noticed that the employees don't exactly seek you out to offer help after you've been greeted at the front entrance. Being part of their Member Rewards program is completely free and for those looking to save a few dollars, I have found it to be very beneficial as they mail discount coupons and cards to your home. You also get a birthday coupon during your birthday month which - if memory serves me correctly - is a $10 certificate to spend in-store or online! Also, if you are ever searching for a shoe in your size that DSW doesn't have in stock, they will offer to order it from their headquarters and either mail it to your home or you can pick them up in-store. While I find that DSW sells solid brand-name shoes of high quality, today I discovered that two of the pairs I purchased had some defective marks around the toe area (something that I missed while in-store). I took them back as soon as I noticed and switched them out for something comparable with no defects. Don't order online for pickup at the store! I get an email saying my order is ready for pickup- only to find out theres nothing there when I arrive. Then later in the evening I call and find out only half the order was ready- and I'm supposed to, what, go to the store now THREE SEPARATE TIMES?? Hire a software developer and go back over logistics. The current setup makes absolutely NO sense, it's like asking someone to come back for the other half of a haircut three days later! This is a long post so apologies in advance....I gave this place 3 starts because while the assistant manager is the rudest person I think I have encountered in customer service in my adult life another employee had such great customer service skills that she kind if redeemed DSW for me. I went in just to browse, I went to the back to look at some clearance deals. I found a pair of shoes in a random box and tried them on and loved them. They had a price sticker stuck on the actual shoe so I just took the shoes to the front since I believe the box was not actually for the shoes since they were Calvin's and the box said something else. Anyhow, I stood in line and when it was my turn I got to deal with the assistant manager. No hello how are you or anything. She grabbed the shoes rang them up and just said "just FYI next time we need the box" I was like ok well the shoes were not in the correct box. She ignored me and started talking to another employee through her walkie then just said "Ok then well now you know for next time" in the most sarcastic tone I have heard from an employee in a store completely unprovoked. She then started talking about how in that area there is a lot of theft blah blah blah, I had stopped listening because as someone coming in after work to just browse for cute shoes I really don't care the reason why internally as a company they need the boxes for the shoes even if its not the corresponding box for the shoes you are purchasing. Further more I am not there to steal obviously so not really my problem that others steal. She then told me my total again the whole time acting like she was annoyed or angry or something. I was so pissed off I just told her I didn't want them and then she was like oh don't be upset as I was walking out. I have a hot head I had to walk out as to not go over the counter and snatch her face so she needed to stop talking. I called back to find out if she was going to be working the next day so they could just hold the shoes so I could purchase when she was not there. Employee I think Britney or Brianna maybe was super nice, I explained what happened and she completely understood and placed the shoes on hold. I went the next day, purchased and she gave me a $10 discount for all the trouble which I appreciated. She didn't have to do that nor was I assuming I was going to get anything but the clearance price they were at but she saved my experience of DSW as a whole since my issue was with that one assistant manager, who I think was named Jenn, and not the whole company. She needs to be demoted and the girl who helped me promoted. This location is one of the better DSW stores. It is conveniently located near the expressway in a popular strip mall. I always find what I am looking for and then some. I like how this location is clean and neat, other locations are not as well kept like this store. I also like how friendly the employees are no matter what. I shop here regularly and never once have I experienced poor customer service. This is a big deal to me it is like the icing on the cake. Finally, there is ample parking available. The best time to shop here is Monday through Thursday before 3pm. Anytime after that is near rush hour or busy weekends. read more

This was my first experience at DSW. I ordered a pair of shoes that weren't avaialable in store through a sales associate. The sales associates recccommeneded online ordering. Therefore, I took their advice and ordered at the front desk. The shoes were supposedly delivered to the address that I gave the sales associate. I never received the shoes! I've been in contact with both DSW and the delivery company. Both companies have been unhelpful to the point of incompetence. DSW and FedEx revert blame to one another. No one is able to locate my shoes. No has apologized for this inconvenience. Now I'm left to reorder the shoes. Very dissatisfied with this company's performance! Will not be returning. read more

Shoes, shoes and more shoes, that is DSW. It's a shoe outlet that sells shoes at a decent price. But... It is like so many other stores now. Men's shoes account for maybe 30% of the inventory. And they do not carry any kind of work boots for men. I have bought some pretty snazzy dress shoes here however. The staff are what get the points on the review. Super helpful, professional and friendly. My last visit was stop in my seven store "boot quest". When I could not locate any boots, the girls went out of their way and actually googled several places specializing in men's work boots. That is service! read more
