However, this was the closest location for LL Bean so I gave it a shot. This store is much larger than I expected, but the staff were very kind and helpful. I had never been to an LL Bean before so it was a tad overwhelming trying to find the exact pants I was searching for on my own. I was thankful for the help, and also for not judging me based on my size. As a bigger gal, these kind of outfitters are not always friendly to the plus sized crowd. However, the gentleman assured me that whatever wasn't available in my size or color preference in store could be ordered as long as it's in stock. The clothes are a little pricier than what I'm used to. I rarely buy clothes, but when I do it's on sale at a big box store so I know I'm not always getting quality stuff. I will say that everything I tried on actually fit well so shopping here wasn't the usual painful experience for me. I found the pants I was looking for, tried on a variety of others just to make sure I liked the ones I wanted, and was happy with my decision and overall experience. Honestly, I might go back to get a sweater that I fell in love with but don't really need. But it was sooooo soft and comfortable. I'm not what I would consider the typical customer for LL Bean, but I'm no longer counting it out as a place to find the right sporty gear that I know won't be available to me at REI and other outfitters.

Measured, put on a treadmill to see my steps and then recommended a larger size than I had ever bought. He told me I needed to accommodate the larger of my two feet more than my sizing had in the past. He brought out about 4 different pairs/brands and I tested them all out on the indoor track. Eventually we settled on a pair of Saucony. This was a brand I had never bought before and so I was hesitant. But I'm now a month into running with them and they're easily the best running shoes I've ever owned. Price was pretty standard at 150 or so but they're totally worth it. Will be back when visiting my family in Milwaukee. That's how much I loved the store.

There was a young employee there and as the manager was processing the transaction, she was talking down to her and telling her what to do as she was supposed to know. I could see that the girl was embarrassed and I felt bad for her. This made me uncomfortable. What I would like to say to this manager, is micromanaging does not work! Google it! This young girl would make a better manager as maybe she already has more experience on how to treat people. I will most likely never go there again because of this experience. I love this location because I feel they always have a size run in the newest styles, whereas other locations may be sold out of an item - and similar items - in a particular size. Anytime I'm in the mood for a new outfit for work, every day, or vacation, I head to Maurice's. They also have cute jewelry and shoes. Catch them at the right time and they have amazing clearance sales! I often have a difficult time envisioning outfits, and Maurice's does a superb job with their mannequins and displays. I usually end up purchasing the outfit/items on display and sometimes right off the mannequin. The sales associates, particularly at this location, are very friendly and helpful; I like how they offer suggestions once they see what you are looking for, and if you aren't having any luck in the fitting room. If you are just browsing, they are not pushy - which I really appreciate! This store is, on average, pricey than Kohl's. However, the items are of better quality and are targeted to being a more "timeless" fashion rather than what's hot right now. I have gotten *so* many compliments on my work outfits that I purchased from this store; and even after years of wash and wear, they still look great. If you can't tell, I'm definitely a fan!

I got some service though and selected my first pair of on clouds. BEST shoes I have ever worn! Literally put some spring in my step. I got in the line of perpetual sadness and about 10 years later as I finally got up front I needed a walker not the shoes... just kidding!!! Let me first start by saying that Devon could sell snow to an Eskimo; he knows his stuff and Taylor is just extremely helpful and always goes the extra mile. I came in there one day before my trip to LA and they literally put me together. They gave me four different looks with shoes and jewelry. I told them what I was shopping for and they had maybe 12 different outfits for me to choose for from waiting in the dressing room. They made me feel like a celebrity LOL. I walked into Akira as a first time customer in a bit of a panic after being told by my fiancé this morning that his huge holiday party at work is THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. Ugh. Right upon walking in I was greeted by Shaina who asked me if I needed help finding anything.. And oh boy I needed help! She was sweet, attentive and overall wonderful. She brought me dress after dress and really listened to my feedback until we narrowed it down to 3 different dresses (all of which I ended up purchasing)- one of them was unavailable in this store in my size. Shaina quickly tracked down the last one in a size small for me in a store nearby and had them hold it for me. I was so happy bc I'm love with the dress! I ended up staying and shopping for over TWO HOURS haha and when Shaina had to leave to visit another store another amazing employee, Sparkle, took over for her and helped me find a bunch of other pieces that I really love! She listened to me explain my style and what I was looking for and brought me items that were exactly my style as well as some that were a little different and I'm so happy she did bc I got some beautiful items that I never would have tried on if she hadn't suggested them. Then when I was checking out, Vanessa the cashier had the patience of a saint as I went through my 20+ items and she made sure that I got all of my discounts with their awesome buy one get one 50% off sale.
