My daughter has very wide feet and is incredibly hard to fit, so finding hiking boots can be a challenge. We had just left a well‑known outdoor recreation store feeling completely discouraged. On a whim, we stopped at Michael's after noticing they carried a brand that specializes in wide widths. She chose a pair of Irish Setter boots that felt great in the store, but after wearing them around the house for a while, they started to feel too narrow. When we called, the associate told us to bring them back and explained our options: we could try the next wider size or have the boots professionally stretched. After trying on the wider pair, my daughter decided to have the original boots stretched instead. She wore them on a hiking trip shortly afterward and found them to be very comfortable. Dropped off my Sorel winter boots on Monday to get have the heel mended. It was quite rundown, but the rest of the show was in good shape. I saw several good reviews of this store so I reached out to the owner and sent some pics of my shoes to see if they could be mended. They could! I picked them up the following Saturday, and they looked wonderful! Definitely will return if there is anything else I need repaired. Friendly and professional service. If you have the kind of expensive shoes of classic never go out of fashion style, then you have no choice. Prices are good, he doesn't seem to raise prices though his costs must be going up. Located in a small strip area this place offers not only shoe repair, but some actual shoes for sale! The staff were very welcoming and explained all the options I had for repairing a pair of shoes and what what they thought was a good direction. The repair was completed over a major holiday season and was timely and very reasonably priced - like you can't beat that for a shoe repair reasonable! When I went in to pick up the order a few weeks later, I forgot my ticket, but it didn't matter as they actually remembered me from the first encounter! What excellent service. Tiny little store tucked among the fray along Hwy 100 in Hales Corners, but the only place, after 8 phone calls, that carries a specific type of kitchen shoe made by Birkenstock in the entire city of Milwaukee. And it was on sale cheaper than anywhere on the internet. The sales guy was friendly, helpful and not at all concerned about the amount of flour I was traipsing into his place. This type of ma and pop place is fading fast, but I'm so glad I was able to give them my patronage and walk out with the shoes I needed asap. My feet and checkbook were happy. Super happy with my experience. I needed the heels or lifts redone on my boots. I dropped them off last Saturday. I was told I could pick them up the following Friday. Boots were ready on the day I was told. I picked the boots up, was shown what was done. Even though I knew what was repaired, it was nice to see the boots in the store without just being given the boots back and rushed out of the store. I just took a pair of boots to Michael's Footwear for the first time and could not be happier with the quality of service. I have a pair of boots that needed new heel lifts (aka heal pads). In addition to the new heel pads, they threw in a free shine and dyed and polished my edges. All this for a very reasonable charge and good turn-around-time.
