We popped into Nordstrom Rack to browse today and, though they have a good selection, the unbearably long line almost caused us and quite a few other patrons to leave. We waited in line 20+ minutes to buy a single pair of shoes. The shoes were a good value and were something we needed, but the tension in the store was palpable with a line of 25-30 customers waiting to check out. They have 6 registers and 3 were manned with not very much urgency. They definitely needed to pull someone off the floor to man 1-3 more registers. read more

I left my wallet at the check out. When I went back to retrieve it all the cash was missing. I'm very disappointed a Nordstrom rack employee would take the cash out of a wallet that was left behind!!! Honestly, I'm pretty much done with this place. Yelp tells me I've checked in here 18 times since April 2014, so I've had ample opportunity to see how crappy they've gotten in just two years. From the get-go, I knew not to expect the same level of brands that Chicago gets - yes, that disappoints me but it's reality. My complaints have nothing to do with that - this store just plain sucks. I rarely stop these days, and when I do it's even rarer than I end up buying a thing. Why? *Despite signs every 5 feet saying "Let us know if you can't find your size" staffers are completely useless. I was looking for a specific size for the Mister and asked an employee who replied "I have no idea". When asked if it could be ordered (like the signs promise) she recommended I just go online later. FINE. *Even when the store is empty, it's a goddamn jumbly mess. In the men's area, the size tags on the rack were completely useless. Every single rack was a total mess of sizes meaning a person has to go through Every. Single. Item. NOPE. *When the store opened, the checkouts were staffed with competent and friendly people. Today, there were 4 people up there - 2 were tagging clothes, one was jackassing around on an IPad and ONE person was working...slowly. WRONG. Right now, the only real difference between this crappy Rack and the messy shitshow of an Old Navy a few doors down is the price tags....and the preponderance of spangly jeans. I'm pretty sure than when Real Nordstrom opened, this place just gave up. read more

I'm spoiled. Used to live in Arlington Heights where a far superior Nordstrom Rack was. And downtown Chicago, even more so superior. This one is... well... just "ook". And Nordstrom Rack is usually way more than just "ook". My first visit, the prices were way too high and it was very difficult to find something to buy. Weird. My second visit (to return the one thing I bought the first visit) was much more fruitful. I grabbed some good finds. The shoe prices were nothing less than laughable insanity. Clearance for $50 $75 for some basic walking shoes? No thanks. Speaking of the return, that process was seamless. They took the item back swiftly and didn't question the 5 months it took me to get back there. I'll return I just really hope the selection and prices improve. Excited that a TJ Maxx is coming soon. Discount retailers can always kind of be hit and miss and unfortunately it feels like this this particular Nordstrom Rack is more miss than hit. While it's fairly large and has a decent selection, unless you're there right after it opens it gets messed up pretty quickly. There just isn't enough staff to keep the store kept up throughout the day as well as assist all the customers. And while I'm thankful that (for the most part) the staff focuses on helping the customers, you can lose your cool pretty quickly with as disheveled as the store gets. Since there is a full blown Nordstrom just down the street, there is a pretty good supply of Nordstrom pieces coming down the pipeline into this Nordstrom Rack. If patience is your strong point then I think you'll be able to handle this Nordstrom Rack. However if you get flustered easily and don't like digging, this may be your worst nightmare. Compared to other Nordstrom Rack's I've been to, this one misses the mark. read more

Used to shop here a lot. Waited over 15 minutes for assistance. Missed their return deadline by a few days and even though I was trying to exchange gifts for a store credit they refused so I guess that's on me, but there are plenty of better options out there if you'd rather refuse someone politely asking for a store credit and telling you that they are planning on spending quite a bit more, then I'll just donate the items and know not to buy anything else here (and definitely not a gift for someone that might not be familiar with the policy or counting the days from when I made the purchase). read more

I was so pleased when Nordstrom Rack hit the Milwaukee area. I have always had to travel to Chicago or visit while in another state on vacation. This one has great location and the store is kept very well especially based on how many people visit and mess things up throughout the day. Comparing this location to others the selection can be a little bit sparse which is a bummer, but if you stop by frequently you are sure to find something that you are looking for. I am partial to the shoes! The staff is always circulating about asking if you need help, they are friendly, attentive and available. I have had some especially kind clerks on the way out commenting on "cute finds" or offering suggestions on when to stop back to find new deliveries. I will keep frequenting this Rack and hoping for more variety! read more

I'm so glad to have a Rack in our neighborhood. They have always been known in our family of big-feeted people for their extended shoe sizes. I've had both positive and negative experiences at this store, related to stocking of said larger shoes. Having visited and maybe been spoiled by the Chicago area Rack's - they have always had, maybe not the largest selection of shoes, but certainly a wide array of pricing options and good deals to be had. I kind of feel that the Rack is heading towards TJ Maxx and the like - that they are just manufacturing cheaper items to be sold here and then keeping them all the same prices. If so, that's a huge disappointment and I hope it's not true. The upside of the Rack has always been the employees for me. They have been consistently kind, and despite the vastness of the store and the probably overwhelming futility of keeping it clean - very friendly to customers. I'll keep returning to this store hoping to find good deals on shoes! read more

I picked up two dresses at the store for a pretty good price but it took a lot of sorting to find them! Even for the items NOT on clearance the majority of the items just had one or two sizes. The fitting room staff were very friendly and helpful and good service doesn't go unnoticed. I'd probably come back if I was in the area with some free time but I don't think I'd make a special trip. Nordstrom Rack in Wauwatosa has good merchandise, good workers, and good prices. As a stand alone, I would likely give the store three stars: it is okay. But, as part of the Nordstrom family of companies, I like it quite well. For example, when I buy something online from Hautelook and I don't like its quality or sizing, I can just take it back to Nordstrom Rack. While there I can also shop men's shoes where I usually find something I didn't know I needed. I also shop the store for athletic wear which is generally a third less than Dick's which is just a couple of doors away. I hope that the merchandise in the store improves a bit with the opening of the new Nordstrom at Mayfair. Men's clothing at the Rack remains limited in contrast to the stores in Illinois. I have shopped the Rack in a few states, and generally things for the home like towels and sheets are limited, but this location has the least selection. When I shop the Rack here with a friend who is a young adult we generally find more for him because that seems to be the price point of merchandise the store stocks most for men. The parking at Mayfair Crossing leaves a lot to be desired. I sort of wonder what the zoning and building boards in Wauwatosa were thinking. Good luck during holiday shopping season. Sound like a fairly mixed review? It is. But overall, I appreciate the store where it is right now in its development and am hoping for more soon. read more

Ok, MKE is not a big city, but the people buying at this store want to be as fashionable and have good quality clothes as the buyers in big cities... Is it just me or is this Rack going downhill fast??? I don't understand why we don't get the quality goods that other stores get. Maybe it's cause usually the Rack gets items from the local Nordstrom store and ours is lacking big time. I get we are not the Chicago market, but we still have money to spend. The inventory at this location has gone way down since they first opened and it feels more and more like the rejects that don't sell at other stores. I love a good sale. I mean, who doesn't, really? You'd have to be a full-on crazy person to not want to buy a thing for less than it cost originally. Here's the rub: Discounts can be tricky beasts. Flaky mistresses. If this thing was originally $250 and now it's $150 because you want to get rid of the thing, what is it *really* worth? ::throws serious side eye:: Capitalism. AM I RIGHT PEOPLE? Nordstrom Rack is full of things from Nordstrom proper that apparently can't be sold there, or that people don't want, or are out of season and are now marked down from their original selling price. This pleases me. I like things to be cheaper than they were. I'm a bargain baroness. I like getting nice things for cheaper than you got them for. I have no shame in this game and I know what I like, so this all works well for me... *when* I have the extra hour or so to spend perusing, that is. So! A list of pros and cons re: this particular Nordstrom Rack location: PRO: If you spend a little time rifling through the racks you can find some great pieces and solid brand names for relatively little, comparatively speaking. CON`: Sometimes the selection isn't so great, it's sort of a crapshoot. PRO: This location's got lots of stuff for the ladies: workout gear, purses, outwear, shoes, apparel (some solid brands too!) and housewears in the form of bedding, frames and shit, makeup, etc. CON: Not a ton of apparel for the menfolk. They have some other stuff dudes might like, though, including shoes. PRO: You'll probably find something you needed or wanted but had forgotten you needed or wanted and that thing will be cheaper than it would be at the mall. CON: Because it's a "discount" shop, I'm all "I need this and I need this and oh I needed this and it's cheaper here so that's awesome and also I needed this." But did I really need all that? Debatable. The lure of the discount is a powerful thing, people. IN SUMMATION: If you have some time and you're so inclined and you come with an idea of what you might need/want, this place could be your jam... especially if you're a lady. read more

Maybe the Nordy's Rack experience is wasted on me, but I just wasn't impressed. The selection in my size was minimal and one of the few racks that was there was completely inaccessible because the sales associates had draped a bunch of coats over it while doing inventory and restocking of another rack. I literally kept picking up things and moving them around to try to see under them and the two associates never said anything, never apologized and never offered to help or move anything to facilitate my shopping. Maybe I would have found something to buy, but we'll never know. I might give it another shot if I have a specific thing I'm looking for that they might have, but I can't see going back just to browse when it was clear they weren't interested in catering to me on a lot of levels. read more

Before my trip to Nordstrom Rack, I had never been in any Nordstrom store, ever. I had always heard that they were pricey and high-end, and I was hoping to score some good deals at Nordstrom Rack. Overall, I was pleased with the deals that I found on my recent trip. I scored a pair of Calvin Klein heels for just under $50, a pair of Coach shoes for just under $80, and a sweater for $39. The store was very well kept and organized, and the staff was helpful. So overall: Some of their things are on the pricier side, but you can find some nice deals there. I will definitely be back in the future (much to my husband's delight). read more

The store is alot more expensive than TJ Maxx- so lets just say you buy a purse for $40 at tjmaxx,you will be paying for the same purse there for $80. Where should I start,so its very pricey, but they have an AMAZING shoe department,with a wide range of sizes for big feet girls like me-you can spend hours there and I did :).The shoes are expensive,the accessories department is fantastic, I was drooling around the purses (Kate Spade, Coach-I never wanted one but I do now:) and that Dooney Burke wallet; I need you in my life :) The purses are really,really EXPENSIVE. I did score a pencil skirt for $11 scouring the clearance section. I will be going back. read more

It is great to have a Nordstrom Rack within the area that allows certain brands at a reduced price accessible to more people. I've only been exposed to Nordstrom Rack a few years ago while in Chicago and fell in love with the selection of product and reduced prices. Naturally, I was thrilled when this location opened up. I've been here a handful of times - the staff is very friendly yet usually do have to flag someone down if you're looking for something specific. The shoe selection takes up the majority of the back wall, sports is in the front corner, and then men's and women's splits up the rest of the stores. Having all of the Nordstrom product yet that is either discontinued or reduced gets moved here so you can grab some amazing deals on some awesome product. There is more than enough parking since this location is in a newly developed strip mall. They are extremely easy to return and exchange items with, which Nordstroms is known for. Definitely check out this location for some great deals. read more

Good quality, cheaply priced, men shoes. Great location right off of the freeway. It was very crowded though. The designer shirts and pants are very pricey but good quality. I liked it overall, however I don't like some of the choices of shirts because there are some very bold colors and designs. I hope to go again! read more

Wow. Stopped by the Rack last night to take back a return from their online store. I haven't been in a few months. What the heck happened? It looked like the worst kind of bargain basement. They have moved things around and changed up the check out area - which is fine - but the rest of the store was a mess - literally. Clothes on the floor, racks so full you couldn't even pull out a hanger without breaking it in two (happened to me), all of the plus sizes crammed onto a few racks, no section of designer shoes, minimal accessories, etc. Plus, a lot of off brand, cheap clothing. I left without buying a single thing and I was looking for some basic pieces. By comparison, I went down the mall to TJ Maxx which is usually less than impressive, it was - gasp - immaculate. Organized, shoppable, pleasant, well-staffed and decent selection including some nice name brands. I hate, yes hate, that the Nordstroms in our are are so dumbed down. I get that it's hit or miss type of shopping at their bargain level store, but this experience was so off brand for Nordstrom that I was shocked. Two stars is a gift because based this on being okay in the past. (And if anyone from their corporation is reading this, I basically buy stuff online and use your local stores as return centers. I would spend twice as much if I actually had a location I could shop at. What I wouldn't give to have service like I've had at locations in Seattle.) read more

Well Toto, I guess we're not in Chicago anymore... Prior to this store opening, the Frau and I spent many a Saturday trekking down the I-94 corridor to shop for cool discount clothes and sweet piles of size 14 shoes that didn't make my feet look like Herman Munster's. We joyfully anticipated the opening of our own store in the 414 until eventually, that day came. Sadly, the inventory of this store has always been a notch or two down-market from the Chicago area Racks. Do I not deserve the same quality and selection? Am I to be mocked by the Nordstrom Rack Marketing department as a fly-over state bumpkin who deserves Kohl's Store quality and 4 year old fashion faux pas? Did you think I wouldn't notice the abundance of pleated khakis? What, were you out of rolled cuffs? During our most recent visit I noticed that they seem to have ceased to stock any pants larger than a 36" waist. Hello?? Have you noticed how many of us there are in Cheeseland that are a bit more "amply proportioned?" The only thing that has prevented this store from completely falling off of my radar has been their shoe selection. There are more size 14 (my size) shoes here than I have ever seen in all other stores combined and I'm not just talking Air Jordan-esque high tops. I'm talking Italian made loafers, hip leather boots and even the occasional Allen Edmonds pair or two. I've noticed that the friendliness of their employees has slipped recently too. When this store opened, you could tell that their customer service etiquette had been recently coached up. It's definitely time for a refresher. read more

Went last night to return a boxed tie that was purchased for a wedding and never used. Clearly, the box was not even opened. I wasn't aware of the 45 day return policy and the associate at the check out counter refused to accept the return. I walked out, looked at my receipt, and walked back in to ask where was the return policy. Was told it's on the back of the receipt--Ohh, you mean that tiny print that no one can read? I will no longer shop at Nordstrom Rack, and likely Nordstroms, especially when there's a very nice TJMaxx and DSW a short walk north in the same strip mall--with much better return policies stated on the FRONT of the receipt. read more

I lovethat we finally have a higher end retailer here in Wisconsin, I can't wait until the actual Nordstrom opens next year. Until then I like to shop here they have pretty good deals on handbags, and shoes. So far I haven't found much in the way of clothes I like but I keep hoping and checking.I do like their charge card as after $250 spent you get a $20 certificate also when you have their credit card get free alterations which is nice. read more

As someone who loves tj maxx, I would of course love this store too. Things I like about Nordstrom rack.....the cleanliness. Things in here are folded, presented properly, and displays look neat and inviting. The staff is very friendly and not abrasive about signing up for the beloved store credit card. I'm one of those annoying shoppers who will buy a bunch of stuff and show up 6 hours later to return half of it. They don't care...you always get a smile here! What I do wonder about is this: am I TRULY getting a good deal? Is it really that remarkable to get 60% off a sweater or pair of jeans that couldn't sell at the first run store? I think people need to be careful in these types of stores because the pricing can be misleading. Do your homework! That being said...I have found some absolutely great deals here. A pair of TOMS for $18, nikes for $33, a $200 sweater mine for $38....those are good deals. I wish I knew what days the new inventory comes onto the floor. Or maybe I don't ;) I always leave here spending more money than what I intend to going in. Happy treasure hunting--go be a shopping genius! ;) read more
