I was unwilling to spend $ on a new "do" and decided to take a trip to Lush to buy a block of henna for $30. Having done henna in the past, I knew that my hair color would drastically change due to the blonde highlights. The color was called "chestnut" which turned my hair bright orange. I lived with this hair for a month and then decided to do the unthinkable - apply permanent dye on top of henna. I won't get into the ~hair science~ of how much henna sucks but I will let you know that you are 100% advised NOT to apply any type of permanent dye on top of henna because it will cause the dye to react differently. For example, if you apply brown dye to your hair, it will turn black with purple hues, which is exactly what happened to me. Not only that, it was crazy uneven. I walked into Boheme w/ approx 4 different hair shades. It was horrible. Yessenia was the one that took care of me for 8 hours and completely fixed the damage i had done. She took her time w/ the base color and highlights and was extremely patient during the entire process. She definitely knows exactly what she was talking about. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a new change or in the need of professional help.

On Wednesday, I had my roots touched up with a single-process color. When I got home, it was obvious that the color was uneven, with one section noticeably darker than the rest. I called the salon on Thursday and explained the issue. At that time, I was told it would be corrected as a complimentary service. When I arrived Saturday, the colorist acknowledged the color difference as did both owners. The owner, Joel, told the colorist it was because she did not pull the color through my hair enough to blend it. However, then I was informed that I would have to pay $100 for a toner to fix a mistake that was not mine. I was shocked I was being asked to pay to fix a color error. I have had this happen in the past at other salons and it has always been fixed without an issue. As someone who has supported this salon for years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles them is what matters. Instead of honoring what I had been told and correcting the uneven color, I was asked to pay more to fix their work. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and undervalued as a longtime customer. Unfortunately, because the salon would not correct the issue without charging me, I now have to purchase color and fix it myself at home. I sincerely hope Salon Council reconsiders how they treat loyal customers when a service does not turn out as expected.

She turned out to be very shady in a recent booking. I've attached the conversation in case anyone tries to call me out for being deceitful. On march 25, booked well over 2 months in advance, we agreed to 5:30 I'd meet her at one of her bookings location, which was a friend of mine who was also getting her hair and makeup done from her. At 4o clock, she told my friend to tell me she needed to to be there at 4:15 or 4:30. I obviously said no because I booked her for 5:30 and I lived in Coral Springs. If you know CS to pines is a little bits ways, especially west pines. So we agreed, I'd meet her at her house instead at 5:30 since it would be EASIER for her. I reached her house gate at 5:26, exact. Mind you, I'm a VERY timely person. Her gate is one of those high tech new ones so it did take 5-6 mins to get through it. I reached her house by 5:31 now. I noticed an auntie getting out of her car and entering the home. I, at first, didn't think anything of it. More of a thought crosses "she has visitors over." Long behold this auntie apparently had an appt with "beautybyZ" for hair and makeup at 5:30, for the same wedding I'm also attending. Once I entered her home, her daughter led to me to their makeup room. Where "beautybyZ" was JUST starting this aunties makeup. She then tells her daughter to "start the curls" (the hair style I wanted has waterfall curls). I was too stunned to speak. I don't recall EVER booking her daughter to do my hair nor a junior artist was mentioned in my booking conversation. A heads up would be professional but that's not out the window. I remember her saying her daughter will start the hair and she'll "finalize" it aka make the two braids I needed and set the teeka. I was absolutely appalled at this business transaction. I asked her how much at the end because at this point I was OVER this whole fiasco. She said she'll message me. She messaged me later at night and wanted $85 for hair. Please remember the hair her teenage daughter did with braids by her and $10 for teeka setting (which was abs outrages because she never mentioned a teeka setting price). The messages speak for themselves (pics of convo uploaded). I was told by SEVERAL people "beautybyZ" has been doing people dirty. But due to my encounter with her back in 2018, i swept it under the rug. Never again will I will be entrusting her with any service for myself and definitely will not be referring her to ANYONE. Unprofessional, deceitful and unethical. What heights people go for money is wild to me. Word to "BeautyByZ," educate yourself on professionalism before claiming to be. This was not close to it.
