My husband and I purchased a small SUV about a year ago. When we purchased the vehicle it was…read moreleaking a fluid. We were told it was coming from the transfer box and was not a big deal. We paid good money for this car and did not know that the air conditioner did not work when we bought it. I guess we were naive in believing. My husband had just been through some very bad medical issues so getting a "good" car was very important as he had been on disability that set us back. They also told us we could bring the car to them if it ever needing service and they could fix it for half the cost of a regular shop. Well, it turned out the leak was not coming from the transfer box. It was coming from the power steering pump. We had the car diagnosed as being the power steering pump and as we were told we could do; we bought the pump and brought the car to Denver Fleet to repair. Unfortunately, the car still leaked and we with held payment. They told us to tow the car down at Denver Fleet and they would fix it. This is a long way for us and we left the car there several days so they could fix it. Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed and the car literally emptied itself of all power steering fluid shortly there after. We called back and we were told by Denver Fleet to tow the car there and they would fix it. We made the long trip down again, left the car, only to be told they couldn't fix it. Then we took the car to be diagnosed by a certified mechanic near us and he told us the hose going into the pump had been cross threaded and that is what caused the car to leak the power steering fluid. (He took photos and I kept the part). We had to pay 480.00 dollars to repair the pump that had been cross threaded. Denver Fleet paid for the pump but that doesn't make up for the fact that we were told the leak was coming from the transfer box when we bought the car. It doesn't make up for the many trips we made down to them and being told they fixed the problem and did not. It doesn't make up for the fact that we paid good money for the car only to find out that a major system did not work; the air compressor. Additionally, there were new tires on the car when we bought it, however, I am not sure if Denver Fleet put them on or not but the car was not aligned afterward. We were not aware of this and three months after buying the car we had to put two news tires on the front and have the car aligned. I even offered to sell them the car back for half of what I paid for it. I cannot in all good conscience recommend them. We wasted much valuable time and money. We were told our car was fixed when it wasn't. Did they know? It's a shame that we believed and trusted them because we wound up the big losers. We were taken advantage of in during a very difficult time. My husband's medical issue was very obvious. Now we are stuck with a car that was sold to us without air conditioning and we can't sell it for a fraction of what we paid them for it. The air conditioner should have worked for the price we paid for the car or we should have been informed that it did not work.
