I've had this insurance for the past eight years and up until recently I've been satisfied. We lived in Cape Coral for eight years and had DTRT Insurance for most of those years but recently sold our house so wanted to obtain a refund on our recently paid homeowners and flood insurance policies. This insurance group is great when providing quotes or selling you insurance but absolutely terrible if you cancel any policy. We sold our house in June and it took a full three months to get a refund on our homeowners insurance premium (around $2,000) and still haven't received a flood insurance premium refund after four months which is another $2,000. Still waiting!! Yesterday I canceled our renters insurance and was told that they'd send an email to initiate a cancellation of that policy. Again still waiting!! Insurance companies sell a "service". It is not a tangible product and that being said if I were you I'd take my business elsewhere. read more
