Ask the Community - DTS Performance

Is DTS Performance still in business? I have called and left three voicemails with no return call. I have also send e-mails through Yelp and directly through DTS website.

Yes, Phone contact didn't work for me. Contacted him thru Yelp and was answered in 20 minutes. Keep trying. He's the best.

When I arrived, I spoke to a man at the front desk and explained again what I wanted. However, he quoted me a different price that was significantly higher. Although I was frustrated, I decided to proceed with the service since I had rearranged my schedule and had someone drop me off. After two hours, I returned to pick up my car, only to discover that the price had increased even more. When I inquired about the increase, I was informed that the quoted price was for each window, not for all of them. This left me even more confused, as I had specifically asked for the price for all of the windows. The whole situation felt strange. All I can say is that if you're going to take your car there, make sure you do your homework and ask lots of questions. It might be a good idea to have them write down the quote they give you before you have the service done. I would not recommend Tint World

There was already a backup camera that was wired in and working. They were also able to repurpose the adapters that were already there. Good news !! So $200 to install was not too bad IMO. I got the jeep back by the afternoon and all was working. Backup camera and stereo all worked....until I got home and turned the jeep off. When I got back in the carplay would not connect. Not sure why but I found that if I reset to factory settings it started working again. Also the backup camera went out. It was intermittent to start but finally stopped all together. Seems like some loose connections maybe? Called back up SNS and agreed on a time to come back in so they could check their work. After looking it over they found the wire running to the backup camera had came undone. Apparently they did not check the line when they installed the radio. Also as I was driving over the carplay started working. Still not sure what happened here and hope it keeps working. I'll chalk that up to a flaky iphone connection. This is mostly all good with the exception that I was charged $37 to look at the jeep again and 'fix' the wire to the backup camera. I was told this was because they did not install it. BUT they did install the radio and signed off that everything was working when I road out of the shop. This to me would make them responsible for the everything, including the backup camera functioning properly. If they did not check the wire then that is on them. For this reason I gave them 3 stars and I am not sure if I will go back. If I am in the wrong and you are reading this thinking I should have been charged and you have been charged in the past in this scenario then that is OK. To me it did not seem right the more I thought about it.

I had selected this place based on a referral from a Automotive Lighting website who has this business listed as an installer for their lights. After making a 2nd appointment, the first one not being honored due to shop staff issues (understandable), I took my car in to get the Daylight Running Lights replaced inside the headlight housing, fog lights to be installed (easier to get to when the bumper/headlight housing is off) and new high beams (require the removal of the headlight to replace). The appointment was set around noon so that I could drop the car off during my lunch break at work. Prior to me signing off on the work, I wanted to speak to the owner about the warranty/guarantees that are included with the work as my car is a newer car (less than 1 year old/less than 12k miles and still covered by bumper-bumper warranty). I was advised that the work comes with a lifetime guarantee, on the work performed not if it gets hit by a rock or in an accident. Great! That shows me you stand behind your work and that I can expect great things. I continued the check in process where I walk around the car with the office manager who didn't note anything wrong on the car and left. A couple hours later an email is sent by the owner (while I am at work) stating that visible evidence of moisture is observed inside the headlights. Because there is evidence that there was moisture/liquid inside the headlights there will be no warranty on the work. Pictures of scratches on the bumper (from regular driving) are attached as well as pictures of the headlight in which the moisture/liquid are located. He also invites me to come see the moisture damage in person as it might be hard to see in the pictures, which it was as I couldn't tell. As soon as I got off work, I checked my email, looked through the attached pictures and called the business. I stated that since the work wouldn't be covered under their warranty, I would take the car back to the dealership to get the damage fixed under the bumper-bumper warranty before getting the work done so that I am covered. I verified that the damage is visible from the outside so that I could show the dealership easily which was confirmed. The owner told me that he would have the car ready for me the next day to pick up which I told him I'd be by once again over lunch. I figured this was to remove the tape that was visible in the pictures and since it was close to closing time. When I went the next day to pick up the car, I asked the office manager to see the car and to see the damage that was stated the day prior. We walk outside and the office manager says that you can't see the damage because it is inside and you would have to take it all apart to see the damage (drastically different from what the owner told me the day before). So I asked to speak to the owner as he told me differently. The owner comes outside with a flashlight and starts showing me the damage through the clear part of the lens and I agree that it was visible under the light and would get it fixed prior to coming back. I go back inside with the office manager for what I think is to pick up my key, instead he states that I have to pay $160.50 for the work done on my car and shop supplies. When I asked what work as nothing should have been done once the damage was found and they wouldn't honor their warranty (change in the contract as agreed upon). Supposedly the bumper and headlight had already been removed by the owner. All of the pictures that were sent to me (including the ones where the damage is noted) are of the car untouched other than masking tape being applied. Even the high beams hadn't been replaced (which would have been a 30 second swap once the headlight assembly is pulled out). There should have been no work done on the car once the damage was found and you sent an email stating you wouldn't honor the lifetime warranty anymore. I shouldn't have to pay for unnecessary and unapproved work!
