Dan is the consummate professional. Found the parts I wanted, didn't over charge me for them (I price shopped around). He did additional research to make sure the parts I picked out were even compatible, and would work with the Eco Boost option enabled. I had a blown subwoofer and then help me figure out what would be a good replacement. Can't really express how hard Dan works to get you exactly what you want. I installed a pretty basic radio/CD into an old car. Dan is incredibly efficient, came out to look within a day, ordered the equipment and even rushed over here to install it the afternoon before my 8 hour Thanksgiving drive. There was one minor feature we thought the system had and Dan did so much research to figure out why that feature wasn't working. It turned out to be incompatible with my somewhat obscure phone brand. He then offered to swap out the entire stereo and start over which I had no intention of doing over a minor feature but it was nice to have the option. He knows his stuff. Dan is THE man!!! I recently purchased a '93 Cadillac DeVille that is in excellent condition (only 51k on the clock), and wanted an alarm/remote start unit installed to protect my investment. Living in NYC, there are a TON of fly by night operations out there - here today.......then when a problem crops up - out of business. Or they try to blame you for the problem and want to charge you to fix it. I started searching Craigslist to see if anyone advertised on there that did this type of work. I prefer to deal with the independent businessman as often as I can. That's where i found Dan. After a few emails back and forth, I decided to use him - fair pricing and a lifetime guarantee on his work. Plus he comes to you, which was a major plus in my book (I myself am a mechanic, and I know that it is possible to do just as professional a job outside of a shop as it is inside a shop. We agreed on a time and place to meet. Dan was slightly late due to a personal circumstance that was beyond his control. I can totally understand and relate to that - no biggie. Dan arrived and went to work. Right away I could tell he was a professional just by the way he methodically started to disassemble what needed to be taken apart. He does not do a rush job - he takes his time ensuring that everything is done correctly. After about two hours, the job was complete. Totally professional job - no hanging wires, etc. (I once had an alarm installed years ago by a so-called professional shop. One day I had to remove the under dash panel to do some work and EVERYTHING just fell out - wiring, control module, etc.) Dan then explained the operation of the unit to me in great detail, and answered any questions I had. I paid him, we shook hands and parted ways. Fast forward to a few days ago. Out of the blue my alarm unit started acting up.....doors would start unlocking themselves, etc. I contacted Dan, and the next day he came straight out to look at it. Once again - no rush job. He took his time and went over every wire he ran, every connection he made, etc. Turned out that the control unit needed to be 'rebooted' Now all works fine. Dan told me that if it acts up again that he will come out and replace the control unit. After he was done with that, I also had him install a radio that I purchased in my '93 Caddy Fleetwood. I usually do radio installations myself, but the Fleetwood is a weird setup. Wiring has to be run from the trunk to the dash,and a plastic panel behind the dash has to be cut out to accommodate the depth of the radio (which is why Crutchfield lists no radios that fit that car). Once again, Dan did a professional job. Took his time to make sure the wires were run correctly, and mounted the unit perfectly. Even though it was a unit that I supplied, he still took the time to make sure everything worked properly. Next project for the Fleetwood is to replace all the speakers, as one is blown resulting in any radio sounding like cr@p when the volume is turned up. Crutchfield lists a whole different range of sizes - Dan made suggestions on speakers that will sound good and will not break the bank. Sometime after the holidays, I'm going to have him obtain and install the speakers. On a scale of 1-10, I give Dan a 20!! Real nice guy to deal with, and does very professional work. Comes to you, and is very fair in his pricing. And most importantly - he stands behind his work 100% Forget Best Buy, forget the fly-by-night stereo shops - Call Dan. You will be treated like a person, and most importantly you will get a PROFESSIONAL job done at a reasonable price. I'm a little late getting to this review. I was busy doing all the driving that i couldn't do while my car was disabled before Dan of DTS bailed me out. on 5/15/13 The needed service was a disarm of my alarm because my remote was old and ragged(it was installed in July 2000) First of all, he responded to my email, BEFORE business hours. This is particularly useful when you have a job, and have to call out to handle personal business. He met me at the car in NYIT parking lot on short notice before another appointment. He had me up and running before i could even finish the story about how i'd gotten stuck!!!! He even had a spare remote in case i preferred that over the disarm. I contacted Dan to have front and rear door speakers as well as a 5 channel amplifier installed in my truck. The quote he gave me to do the work was very reasonable, especially since I did not have to leave my house or purchase an additional wiring kit for the amplifier because he used all of his own wiring, which was included in his price. He also told me if I have any issues he will come back out and fix it. I did have a small issue hearing some static noise but it was my fault from adjusting the amplifier, nonetheless, he came back out as promised and fixed my mistake. Thanks Dan! I hired DTS to diagnose and repair a problem that was only occurring intermittently so it wasn't going to be easy to identify. Dan acting as a true professional offering to come by and spend as much time as it took to identify the root cause of the problem. Luckily for both of us, the symptoms occurred soon after he arrived. He honestly told me that he wasn't 100% sure of the root cause, but felt strongly about what he had diagnosed. He recommended a part to obtain and said he or I could try and shop around for the replacement, telling me that it wasn't really a cheap item. I insisted on a new part, but he also told me to consider a refurbished, used part especially because of the price difference. Turns out the provider he recommended was very good and filled my order in a timely and accurate manner. And the price of the refurbished was less than half of the new. As soon as I got the part, Dan was hear to install the part and this has solved my problem.
