Dr Dubin was my medicine man. I came in with various problems and he fixed them all. I am ticklish therefore I can't get any massage but he kindly made it painful upon my request so that I wouldn't be tickled. Result of his deep tissue massage is amazing. And most importantly, his extensive experience of working with Olympic team really met my needs as an athlete. It is really hard to find doctors/chiropractors who are familiar with sports injury and Dr Dubin has answers to all questions I had. Not only questions regarding of sports injury, but also he gave me various good tips on athletic conditioning as well. He is also quite a comical fella. He and I once dreamed about forming a tag team in pro wrestling. He has very strong thumbs and I have pretty fast kicks. I was not sure that a chiropractor could help me at all, but he did! I had been experiencing various running related injuries (sciatica, hip pain, muscles strains) for almost a year. And, I am currently training for a triathlon and was sick of it hurting every time I ran. So, I went to Dr. Josh Dubin because his website said that he is a triathlete and that he also works with the Team USA triathlon team. For the record, I'm not THAT kind of triathlete. I just do it for fun but I figured it would help to go to someone who treats "real" athletes. It did! And the best part is, I had gone 3 or 4 times before he even cracked anything. And even then it was a gentle spine twist that I often do myself anyway. What he did do was pretty much sports massage. It hurt but it was effective. And he also used the ultrasound thingy that really helped. My insurance covered the majority of my treatment which was nice. And, Dr. Dubin was very professional, very personable and funny. He was also helpful and gave me biking and running magazines, gave me training advise and several pamphlets on sports related injuries that he wrote. And, even though he had to work on a sensitive area (let's just say the problem was in my "glut" muscle) I never felt uncomfortable about it. I highly recommend him. read more

Best I've ever had ;) Seriously, I wasn't even able to sleep, and I was banished to the couch so I didn't wake the significant other. It took some time to hash out my problems (whooole left side from neck to foot and right side back), but I can say I am sleeping in my own bed. He does something electrical (?) that is magic. I usually end up drooling, half-asleep. His receptionist is such a doll. She always chats with me while I wait - which isn't ever long! My only qualm is that it is so expensive :( However, unlike that other review, everyone was very up front on what the costs were. There were even times I forgot my checkbook (credit cards not accepted) and everything was okay - good ol' fashioned IOU. I do wish they accepted credit since I'm a poor college student that livvvves on credit ;) I recommend this place to everyone! Plus, like a previous reviewer - free parking, for two hours! read more

If you're looking for a chiropractor, you just found the only one you will ever need. Overworked athlete, accident/injury or just plain slept wrong and can't unkink yourself? Josh gives you 100% attention on your visit, targeting what you say hurts most. And, I mean, he works on that problem the entire time. Every one of his manipulations helped fix almost all of my back pain in my first visit (that would fire down the inside of my elbow and numb out my thumb). I saw a common practice chiropractor 4x and never came close to that. Sounds too good to be true.... I'm still amazed, and I experienced it!! There were no hidden fees; everything was explained before the first session even started. Some techniques are not covered by my insurance's copay, but those things do not break the bank. When an athlete refers you to someone, LISTEN, because they know how invaluable that person is. . Invest in your body, get fixed, maybe learn something (if that's how you roll), and leave his office knowing your body is getting some repair. Erase all your pre-conceived notions about what a Chiro does. Its not all about cracking backs and "adjustments" Dr Dubin is well known in the athletic community and that he should be. As he has served on the medical staff for the USA Triathlon team for many years now and uses his experience in bodywork,taping, TP, Graston etc to help get you healed up and ready to go. I ran a half marathon in October that I pushed too hard in and didnt have the hip strength and balance I should have had. As a result my psoas and ITB tightened up , BAD! The tightness caused hip snapping and brutal ITBS in my right knee. I went to Josh to get treatment and I could not be happier. Not only did he utilize release therapy, bodywork, deep massage and E-Stim/Ultrasound he also gave me some exercises to do at home that I should have been doing all along and I would have never been in this boat. I went to him 3x/week for a couple weeks and once per week after that for 2 weeks, I am back to running many miles pain free and feel stronger and more balanced. I experienced the same issue as another poster here. I went for treatment for my back, the Dr. did X, Y and Z, then when I went to check out, I was charged for extras, over and above my co-pay, none of which where discussed by anyone involved. I refused to pay, and after the front desk person called the Dr. , they seemed willing to make it a wash. A business should be upfront about their fees, not after the fact. I was not offered service for free. I paid my co-pay and refused to pay the additional charges that were never mentioned up front. You explained nothing upfront. Pros: Easy and fast to make an appointment. Ease of access. Never had to wait for more than 3-4 minutes. Good / clean facilities. He seems to have an understanding of his profession Cons: It doesn't look like he loves what he does. I never had the sense of dealing with a medical professional. Although we discussed whatever was ailing me, he never discussed his plan of action/justification, but, made a point to mention what the insurance companies would be more suspicious of, and instead focused on other parts of the body. I suppose when you are in a profession that doesn't get much respect from the traditional medicine, considered a sham by so many people, and is used as a vehicle to justify frivolous lawsuits, then I see how the insurance companies would scrutinize the payments. And in the end would cause headaches on the part of the practitioner. But! Would you want to be operated on by a surgeon who is thinking about his fees while you are on his table? Neither good, nor bad. I will seek out some other place if I have to. My back-ache is gone thanks to yoga. I gave it a shot, not dismissing the guy or the profession, as he might work wonders on other people. Just my two cents read more

For the past 8 years I have had pain in my knees when i run, which tends to increase as i try to up my mileage or increase intensity. When the pain first began I was in college and even the varsity training room with all of the fancy machines and attentive staff were never actually able to do anything about my knee pain other than telling me it was tendinitis in my IT Band. Since then i have been able to do easy training runs up to 5 miles so long as i give myself a few months to work up to that distance, however the longest race I was ever able to do was a 5k. That was until about two years ago when the pain became completely debilitating and i could not run at all unless i did a half hour warm up on the bike combined with lots of stretching. Even then i could only manage a mile or two before the pain became too much. Then, i was referred to Dr. Dubin by a friend suffering similar symptoms. Dr. Dubin inflicted the best kind of torture i have ever experienced, breaking down all the junk that had built up in my legs over the years and giving me a new lease on my running life. I am still building strength and getting confidence and fluidity back into my stride, but i recently completed a sprint triathlon and felt no pain whatsoever during either my training or the race. The ART technique is a miracle cure for IT Band tendinitis and Dr. Dubin is a knowledgeable and capable practitioner who will walk you through everything he's doing and give you exercises to do at home to continue the therapy. Located on the only busy street in the little town of Quincy, the free parking in the garage off Hancock street is truly a luxury. Walk into the office and you're greeted by possibly the sweetest receptionist in the business. An affable young woman who makes you feel so at home you want to just kick back and throw your feet up on the table. Of course there would be no time for that as the wait is never more than 5 minutes. The expertise of Josh Dubin has given me a second life with my workout regiment. I sustained a knee injury during a game of basketball. That night I crawled up the stairs of my house screaming in agony (think Exorcist, except I was going up and ummm I'm less depressed than Linda Blair). Prior to this injury I was a gym rat, working out six days a week, twice doing two-a-days. So you can only imagine the frustration of this injury. Over time both of my knees developed patella tendinitis and started to swell despite the constant icing. My buddy recommended Active Release Technique and that's how I found Josh Dubin. Firstly, he's extremely personable and professional. He was extremely accommodating with my financial situation (I was BROKE with no health insurance) which is why I'm perplexed by the reviewers who claim he nickeled and dimed them. Now the actual work he did was phenomenal. I believe he used the Combotherapy method (electric stimulation and ultrasound) to speed up the healing process and the ART work was incredible. The stretching and pressing of the thumbs was painfully good and left me feeling as if I had a new body, like Megatron becoming Galvatron after Starscream banished him...eh nvm. Josh also helped me by giving me a series of exercises to help with the rehabilitation process. Once, I brought my little cousin in who suffered a high ankle sprain and Josh fixed him up and lent him a stretch band. Yuck. Slick operation but soon realized leans more toward shyster slant. Dr. Dubin, well, not really a doc, was charming, but seemed interested in going through motions and collecting his pay. Also, nickel and dime you on the fees along with promoting own products for you to buy. Ultimately I feel he takes advantage of a person in pain and has a God complex. I WAS a patient of Dr. Dubin's for several years in which I continued to see him then, given the fact that I did not believe in chiropractic care/quacks. I will admit that I received relief from my pain due to his treatment. I referred several family members and they all have similar stories in relation to their visits to Dubin's office. One family member was seen for a motor vehicle accident. Not only did Josh persuade this family member to say what body part hurt, making it clear that he had to have radiating pain in order for him to get an MRI. He did not have radiating pain. Josh stated he would receive more out of his settlement if he had a positive MRI. When he continued to pressure him during the treatment he didn't want to say he had radiating pain and Josh told my family member, that he was "F***ing up his case". Please note that this family member has a language barrier. The reason I know the details to this is because he recorded the conversation due to the language barrier so that it could later be translated for him to understand better. Josh also had the gall to force his own private attorney that he highly recommends, wonder what he gets out of that deal. I'd like to make it known that I work in the law field if you were to question my opinions and facts stated on this review. After many visits with Josh I realized he was very scandalous in his practice after telling me what I NEED to tell my health insurance which was that my back hurt, although it was my Achilles tendon that I was seeking treatment for. Little did Josh know i work in the law department for my health insurance. So often Josh would take phone calls from his wife while I was in agony. For example, he had painters at his house that his wife called and said his new Bose headphones were missing during the 30 minute appointment (really only 20 minutes), in which I continued having to listen to him take 4 phone calls from his wife in regards to something that was personal which took away from my appointment. Not to mention I also had to listen about his wife's shock therapy for her post-partum depression, very uncomfortable, not any of my business. In addition to that, I listened to him telling me that so many women hit on him while at the same time he's talking about something entirely different but still a very serious, personal issue about his wife (the post-partum depression). The worst part of him explaining his wife's depression was he was more upset about his wife loosing her $15,000 "push gift" (aka Rolex watch) and the costs of nanny's he had to pay to take care of their children while he was at work. He had to make that known for his own pompous self. So beware when you go in there as he is so self centered. You may feel better physically but mentally, your worst nightmare ever. This review is to forewarn potential patients that this man is so high on himself that the only thing you hear is about himself rather than talking about treatment plans. After months of treatment I decided the only thing I could do is make others beware of treating at Dubin Chiropractic because he does not care about his patient's, all he cares about is making a buck off of them. Never mind the old lady at the front desk with the personality of a rock. I hope this review is enough for other's to stare clear from this pompous / prestigious HAHA office and stay tuned for continuous posts because I have more to write about. I first went to see Dr Dubin because I thought I had a knee problem of course the web diagnose said it was my knee I was having serious pain when running. I was wrong it wasn't that bad. Dr Dubin treated me for tight IT bands and I was back to pain free running in no time which helped me train for a 3rd place finish at the Plymouth Iron Distance Triathlon. Dr Dubin has been able to get me back to training more than once and usually it only takes a few visits. He can identify the problem correctly and treat it quickly. He has late office hours so getting in to see him after work is no problem and the office is located near Quincy Center with validated free parking in the garage. When you go to see Dr Dubin you will not sit in his waiting room waiting to be seen he makes it a point to try to stay on schedule. It makes a huge difference being treated by a fellow athlete he has a unique perspective on what we really need and that is to get back to training not rest and pills. I have been going to Josh for 3 years now, and I truly don't think I can find a better chiropractor around here. My C2 was out of place since a huge weight fell on my head in 1996. I have been to 7 different chiropractors since then, before I had Josh work on me. Some of them helped a little, some did nothing for me. Josh improved my conditions so much that my weekly migraines are reduced to every other month now (and sometimes it's because I'm dehydrated, duh...) I am MUCH MUCH better now, and I only need to see him for maintenance, because my C2 is stubborn and will probably always want to slide back to its "accident setting". But as long as I exercise and keep visiting Dubin chiropractic, I'll be fine. Josh knows the anatomy and has a way to massage away any electric shocks I sometimes have in my nerves between my neck and shoulder / back. He made my sciatica pain go away too. I came to see Dr. Dubin about 12 weeks before the Boston Marathon after struggling with Achilles tendinitis for almost 2 years. Prior to seeing Dr Dubin I went to another Chiropractor and saw no results. I went to Dr Dubin and he had me back on track and training like I was never injured in less than 4 weeks. Which is extremely remarkable for an achilles injury. I would have never even made it to the starting line of my first Boston with out his help. I even walked away with a PR!!!! I currently live in CT and still travel about 75 mins one way to see Dr Dubin for some preventative maintenance; my goal is to run in the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2012, and I know it will not be possible with out my weekly Dubin appointment. I would never consider seeing another Chiropractor. Not only is he a Chiropractor but he is also out there competing in Tri's and Marathons. So he can relate to you extremely well. If you are having any issues you should not hesitate to see Dr Dubin, you will not be disappointed. Whether you are an athlete or not, if you need a Chiropractor you should see Dr. Dubin.
