Our lunch that I didn't get a chance to even taste.

EAT YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU GO TO THE GATE!!! You hit PASSPORT/IMMIGRATION/CUSTOMS before the gate and that's a BAD THING!!! For our last meal in Dublin, I bought two types of beautiful ham and cheese croissant baked goods from the nice folks at our corner Centra market. They looked so delicious and ... I will never know. I had GOES (Global Entry). There was absolutely NO LINE. I had the food and was going to get us all set up for a last picnic at the gate and SHE MADE ME THROW IT AWAY. I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO TASTE IT!!! May I at least eat some of it? I'm hungry and that's my family's last lunch. My husband and mom were so hungry they had started on some on our walk, but I was carrying it and didn't have the hands to eat any of it, yet ... the gate is right over there ... I just want to eat something ... NO! THROW IT AWAY NOW! There's not even a line ... there's no one else here except me! NO! She even had me open up a sealed and labeled "buttered roll" so that she could look very closesly in all the corners and check that it was really just bread and butter. I was painstakingly carrying all the other food we had bought on our trip, had laid it out and taken a picture of it the night before, and she didn't even look at my picture and waved me through. The other food had seeds and dried fruit ... nope ... no fox given. I was almost in tears ... AND HANGRY!!! YOU MADE ME THROW AWAY OUR LUNCH!!! NOT COOL!!! I DIDN'T GET TO EAT!!! Dublin is no longer my favorite city ... I thought the idea of going through customs and immigration before boarding the plane was a good idea ... FECK THAT!!! What a crappy end to my vacation. NOTE: The Aer Lingus crew came through, got me some chocolate and crisps, and said that the signage should be better that says EAT YOUR FOOD BEFORE ENTERING!!!

Outbound, Charlotte - Boston - Dublin and returning Dublin - Boston - Charlotte. I was here twice on this trip and once before in 2016. It's the same as it was when I was through here then. The Preclearance Operation is awesome because you don't have to deal with it when you get to your US airport and you don't have to pick up and recheck your luggage when you land at your first US airport. So that's nice though you'll wait in lines either here or there regardless. Yes, lots of queues for departure security and yes, they have a shorter one for those of us with Global Entry. In big letters - THERE IS ALMOST NO FOOD ONCE YOU ARE PRECLEARED. The Terminal is devoid of fast food and completely devoid of cheap food. There are a couple of sit down places which were packed this afternoon. And they're expensive. So that's a major downer for me. Some vending machines but they're also expensive and limited. Buy your food before you go through preclearance. If you're flying First Class and have access to it, great. If not, you can try purchasing a pass for the 51st & Green Lounge which runs €41 per person. They sell the tickets online but they're sold out about three weeks in advance and they're non-refundable. Worth it for two hours of peace, food and drink, comfort and a view of the ramp. [Review 2003 of 2024 - 178 in Republic of Ireland - 23025 overall]

Dublin Airport Terminal 2 is small and limited, especially when comparing it to other international airports. I was surprised by how small it was when I came here to fly back home as I spent a few hours before my flight here; it was lacking a lot of amenities that could be helpful for travelers. They say for an international flight, you need to arrive to the airport three hours prior. And the day I was flying out, there was news of a protest that was to take place at the Dublin International Airport, so it was advised that I leave early. With that said, I had hours to spend before taking an evening flight home, so walked around the entire terminal, looking for restaurants and shops to check out. Some positives is that they do have a good duty-free store that's massive and has many local products, which is perfect for gifts. I was able to get some gifts here, including Irish whiskey that isn't sold in the US. I also found another store that sells many Irish products, including aran woolen products, Waterford crystals, etc. It was nice to go there for last-minute gifts. But if you're looking for a place to chill and get some cocktails, there's only one restaurant inside and it was crowded because everyone was trying to just chill over cocktails. The eating options here are very limited. And there was not enough seating for all the travelers here. Also, where the heck are the water filling stations? For US-bound flights, there's a pre-clearance area, which was the first time I've seen this at an airport. It was a very quick process, going through the pre-clearance area and because this occurs at Dublin, you don't need to go through customs when you land back home, which is so nice. But be warned that after you go through pre-clearance, you're then at your gate area, which has even less seating and eating options. Therefore, I suggest you shop and eat at terminal 2 then do pre-clearance before your flight since there won't be much else to do here when you're waiting for your flight. Not a terrible airport terminal, but also far from the best.

Looking for my buddy Connor McGregor. Gonna go pound some beers. Nice, small, quaint easy to navigate airport. Love me some Dublin.

Dublin Terminal 2 offers a ton of shopping and some places to eat. But in the summer it can be dismally hot. HVAC system is totally underrated. Dress light for this airport in the summer. Also, it's pretty crowded at peak summer travel.

Lackluster airport that had some rude staff. So odd as the people of Ireland were almost without exception incredibly kind and pleasant.

Whiskey Bread at Dublin airport . Limited menu , food is average or below . Tables dirty and tacky even after cleaning. This place needs a serious revamp . Used to be great , not anymore. Unless something is done I will never come here again ! I'm Irish living in USA and I'm disgusted. Wonder what our international tourists think of it . Their last memory leaving Ireland !

Dublin International Airport didn't offer a wide selection of restaurant options, but it was nice to see Irish food choices available. There are also options for last-minute shopping. If you're flying to the U.S., you'll need to go through the U.S. pre-clearance gate. I recommend not buying food before passing through, as it will be confiscated even if purchased within the airport. Overall, I had a positive experience in Dublin, and returning to JFK was seamless. I just had to grab my luggage and head home, skipping the long lines. I would consider returning in the future.

This is the International Terminal for Dublin including flight to and from the United States. Prior to our trip to Dublin there were a mountain of problems reported here for more than a month on Twitter and National News including long lines for security, lost baggage, and dirty never cleaned restrooms with no one tracking anything or giving a S. They were overwhelmed by the volume of tourists in June and on top of that agreed to accept 1000's of Ukrainian refugees, but had nowhere to put them so they camped in the airport. The US Gov't, the US Airlines that fly here, and other countries filed a formal complaint with the Irish Gov't to get their S together and by the time we arrived and departed--things went very smooth--really fast! Our bags were waiting for us by the time we finished with Passport Control on arrival. And Passport control went very fast and organized even with 5 flights arriving at the same time. On the return--almost no wait for check-in at American Air, no wait at Dublin Security and no wait at US Customs which unusually has a presence in Dublin so when you arrive in the USA you arrive as a domestic passenger--you are done with customs. Just keep in mind that that you have to go through Two layers of security and bag and metal detector checks in Dublin when returning to the USA so don't make the mistake we made and got dressed and had to undress again for US Homeland Security here. PIA! The airport is old, has food, but not a lot after you go through double security. After you go through US Customs in Dublin you are in a special secure area and don't mix with the other International Passengers. It's kind of like entering the USA in Dublin. They even have a special airline club in this area for all the airlines combined if you have that status with your airline. We picked up a Subway on the way to the airport and that helped a lot. The restroom I used was clean and I was able to even wipe myself down from sweating through the whole process. Unfortunately, American Air, which has been always on-time from Dublin to DFW for a month, had a technical problem with the 787 and we were two hours late leaving causing us to miss our DFW connection back to LA and then our bags did not make the late flight they put us on. That is a whole other story. Just a note about the Irish/Dublin Security--I have been traveling with the same exact Tweezer in my toiletries bag for 30 years through security all over the world and USA and this was the first time, I was called aside and subjected to an inspection. When I asked what she was looking for? I could not imagine because I fly all the time and I am so regimented for security checks. She said it looks like a tweezer on the scanner. I helped her find it and showed it to her--she took it to her supervisor who said that is exactly what they saw on the screen. It looked like a sharp weapon to the operator but she said that was fine and let me go. Additionally you have to put all your liquids in bags the size they give you: 1 Liter, not the 1 Quart Bags we use in the USA. Another thing we had to deal with over there.

They have self service kiosks that allow you to check-in, however we were unable to utilize as we did not have boarding passes yet due to the variety of booking through Amex. We did luggage drop and boarding pass printing at the counter. There was no hassle and it was efficient. Once checked in and bags dropped, we hit the gate and the agents there were helpful in keeping everyone updated. The plane arrived and we boarded on time and with ease. I appreciate the boarding process of back to front, I wish more US airlines would adopt this! It makes the stress of using the overhead bins so much more tolerable. The plane was a wide body in 2-4-2 layout, which is the best variety of aircraft for a lovely 7.5 hour flight. The plane was clean and in good condition, with the exception of one of the toilets being out of order in the back. This created a bit of a line at times. The meal service on the plane was better than expected with a full meal including a main pasta or chicken dish, side salad, bread, dessert and water. This was followed by a baked chicken roll/hot pocket and then ice cream later in the flight. All of this was in between coffee and drink services. The flight attendants were friendly, helpful and efficient. No baggage issues from start to finish. Even after a 7.5 hour flight and a 7 hour layover, our bags made it to our final destination without issue. Overall, experience on Aer Lingus was great. When I picked up the rental car at the International Terminal 2 in Dublin, I told the female agent that I was planning to return the vehicle with a full tank of petrol as I always do. She proceeded to tell me that it would be far better to just return it without filling it up as Sixt would only charge the same price per liter as the petrol stations. She thus convinced me to just bring the car back and be charged for Sixt filling up the tank. To my unpleasant surprise, when I returned the rental vehicle on May 30, with a 3/4 full tank I was shocked to see the 81 Euro charge for a full tank of petrol. I went to the rental counter to review this issue but they advised me to contact customer service. I thus contacted Sixt Customer Care as directed but only got a rude response from a "Annie" that no billing concerns are addressed by Sixt. In my view the agent at the Dublin airport was very deceptive and basically did a "bait and switch" on me, which I find very unethical. I had my wife and two friends also with me and they agreed completely that this was not what we were told. I thus see this as akin to being robbed for 60 Euro. I have also now seen other reviews of Sixt, along with Google search results, that indicate that there are very often these kinds of unresolved issues that are customers have faced. In addition to tricking me into buying this "prepaid gas" there were also several other issues with the vehicle (Renault): - The remote for the car was out of battery when we picked it up. We had to drive to the Sixt return to get it replaced. - After only 20 minutes of driving a warning indicator signaled that the tire pressure was low; we went to a petrol station to fill air. - Later during the trip the windshield wipers stopped working so we took it to a service station were the technician jiggled the cables and got it to work again. - At one point the car wouldn't accelerate and seemed to be only on electrical power (hybrid engine), so we had to restart it. Thus, this rental experience was not a good or pleasant one and I cannot recommend renting from Sixt. I am sure Sixt representatives would state that I should have read the rental contract details more carefully to find the bait-and-switch there, but I did not expect to be dealing with unethical and deceptive Sixt staff at the airport.

Even with that, I reluctantly gave the second star as my experience from pick up to drop off was without issue! This location is situated away from the airport and requires a shuttle to and from. Shuttle is easy to pick up at both areas and is constantly running. The line inside fills up quickly as every bus load has around 20 folks, all who are after a car, majority automatic cars. If that is the case, be prepared to wait on those busy weekend days, even if you reserved. We reserved an automatic and initially was told they were waiting, however got lucky as someone returned one as we were getting to the counter. Our reservation saved us, so I highly recommend reserving a car. Service at the counter was fine. They were not friendly, nor un-friendly. It was as efficient as it could be and ended with keys in hand. The car was solid. A Skoda model that got great gas mileage and had plenty of interior space. It was nice, even though odd, to be directed to return with the gas tank empty. Due to our limited amount of driving, I returned with half a tank, and weirdly suspect that has something to do with the additional charges. As for the return, all seemed fine. Pulled in, parked, got it looked at, printed receipt in hand and then hopped on the awaiting shuttle. None the wiser to the pending $250 that was coming my way without explanation mere days later. I have since reached out to Hertz twice, but have gotten no response at all. I am now disputing with my AMEX as an unauthorized charge seeing that I have gotten no response or detail as to the reason for the charge. These are always the same horror stories. Completely ruins the overall experience, which for the most part, was wildly successful and positive. Overall, I won't recommend to not rent from Hertz at all, but be mindful and cautious.

The company you're renting from here is technically a franchise, not Hertz. Not the biggest deal at first, but if you ever run into any dispute at all, you're basically SOL because Hertz customer support can't help you without their permission. You can have literal receipts and documentation from them that they messed up: they will just gaslight you and Hertz will then tell you to pound sand. 2. The cars here are completely beaten up. The first car I was given had a major steering column issue and panels that were completely different colors. I had to raise hell to even get the time of day to get a working car. 3. You need a certificate from an insurer to decline ANY insurance product they offer. For a CDW/LDW, fine, I get it and have rented in many foreign countries before. Whatever, wish I knew so I didn't get my own insurance separately, but whatever. But why does that mean they can charge me for every frivolous insurance "product" they have on their menu with no option to opt out? They tripled my *pre-paid* booking, basically a bait & switch. Front desk was fine, nothing to write home about, but don't expect any customer service from them. Returning the car was the best part of this experience and totally smooth (the only reason why I would even consider this a 1 star review). Go to Sixt or anything that isn't Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty if you're in Dublin.

Superb and affordable way to go from Dublin airport to the city or suburbs…read more We took the 703 air coach to Dun Laoghaire, where we had booked a B&B. We got to the airport bus terminal 7 mins before it was scheduled to leave, but the ticketing and boarding was so seamless we were seated with 2 minutes to spare! Round trip cost was 17€ per adult and 9€ per kid, whereas a taxi would have cost us over 100€ each way. The seats were comfortable and while the bathroom was not operational, we were fortunately not in dire need of relieving ourselves! The driver was gracious and let us know where to disembark. The hour- long journey to Dun Laoghaire flew by, and the return trip a few days later was equally rewarding and comfortable. Air coach is the way to go!

My group had three valid paid tickets for a specific scheduled service, as stated on the ticket terms (valid only for the booked time). We boarded the bus, sat down, and were fully settled when the driver abruptly instructed all three of us to get off the vehicle. At no point did he ask whether we were able to take the next bus. He simply told us to leave. He explained that a pregnant woman--who did not have a ticket--should have priority. While we fully respect and understand support for pregnant passengers, removing paying passengers with valid reservations to make space for someone without a ticket is unacceptable and directly contradicts Aircoach policy. After we were removed, the driver then stated that we could "try the next bus", despite our tickets clearly indicating that they are valid only for the booked time, and even noted that the next service might be full as well. This left us effectively stranded. As a result, we had no option but to take a taxi to the airport. We paid in cash, so we do not have a receipt, but this was an expense we should never have had to incur. This incident caused financial loss, unnecessary stress, and represented a serious failure in customer service and adherence to Aircoach procedure. Passengers with valid tickets should never be removed to accommodate someone without a ticket. I am requesting: 1. A full refund for all three Aircoach tickets 2. Confirmation that this incident will be formally investigated, as the driver's behaviour was improper, unprofessional, and against Aircoach policy 3. Guidance on how to proceed in cases where passengers are removed despite holding valid reservations I look forward to your prompt response and resolution. Kind regards,
