It is sad that my elderly parent was treated as pretty much of no value at this hospital. Patients should not need family in the room to ask for care when the patient is unable. She was most of the time not fed or provided liquid after she was off of IVs (except family stepped in), and when her room was changed an entire meal did not show up and no one looked into it. An aide forgot to return the blood pressure cuff that was keeping track on the monitor. A physician forgot she was his patient. A nurse sent the paperwork for a crucial antibiotic to the wrong physician causing a delay. The patient ended up with a staph infection she did not have upon arrival. The list of negligence goes on and on. I would not want even a pet treated in the ways I observed. This situation was tragic. read more

I don't care where I am -- if I am sick or injured, take me to DMH!! If I am in pickerington or pataskala and I get in a car accident, take me to dublin!! I love love this place. From the moment you walk in, security is nice and front counter is attentive. The ER rooms are heat controlled, newer beds and nice TVs. The staff and doctors are great and you don't have to ask them twice for anything. I am usually in and out SO quickly that I can see my regular doc if needed. read more

Why the fuck did I come here when they told me everything was ready to go, and then I still had too for two hours for discharge papers?

I went to Dublin Methodist for and MRI that I had to get done due to medical issues I have been dealing with. Free parking is always a plus for me and finding my way into the hospital was easy. The gentleman at the information desk was very helpful in helping find the X-ray department. All of the staff in registration were nice and professional. My radiologist that did the MRI was great! Explain the whole procedure and I really appreciate being able to listen to music while in the machine. It was a great experience and I thank the staff for helping me get through my first MRI. read more

My mother was sent to the emergency room throwing up blood and was in serious pain. I went on google and searched for a hospital and Dublin had great reviews so I suggested that. I was worried sick about my mother but she came back feeling a bit better and telling me how friendly the staff was and how fast they were to act! They gave my mother all the information she needed and explained in details the do's and don'ts for her condition. She said it was like a 5 star hotel and she will definitely be getting the rest of her appointments there. read more

No one enjoys 2am emergency room trips but Dublin Methodist made my experience the best it could've been considering the time of day. We were in and out on Labor Day weekend in 2 hours which was record time for any ER visit I've ever had. Super fast getting me back to a private exam room, quick getting me registered in a room with my insurance info and doing blood work. The doc was helpful, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The staff was understanding of my fear of needles and was gentle getting the IV in and not bruising my arm. The results of blood and urine tests came back quickly and the doc explained what follow up was necessary with my family doc. I'll definitely come back due to the quick turnaround time and great care should I need emergency care again. read more

Horrible as always. Walked in thru the ER and they appeared to be filming a commercial... wires across the floor.... not really caring about who has to walk they. They then proceeded to feel on as they were walking by X-ray... not caring hi they filmed or asking permission of those they filmed. Seriously, this hospital is PIMP. That's not a sentiment one often expresses about healthcare. But no foolin' - this place is legit. You walk in the front door and you don't go sign im with an angry receptionist behind a glass window - nooo... you get escorted to a comfy couch by the waterfall - YEAH, THE THREE STORY WATERWALL IN THE ATRIUM - to get registered and whatnot. Oh, and you're not filling out paperwork, either - that's so META - the hospital is (virtually) paperless, so all your information lives in touchpads and laptops. They don't glance at a wristband to make sure they give you the right drugs/procedures - they scan it. When you finally get to your room - you can stop and grab a latte in the atrium on your way, or have them bring you one - you'll probably have decided by this point that you're accidentally at a four star hotel and not a hospital. Single rooms, and only single rooms. Two plasma TVs in each. A pull-down computer for your personal use (or to use to order food/espresso/gifts). A giant, gorgeous stone shower. A soothing, nature-inspired color pallet. Don't even get me started on the meditation gardens. I've never been a patient here. But, I've already decided that if I get shot in downtown Columbus, I'm willing to risk my life and have the ambulance take me 20 miles further to DMH. read more

I had to go to Dublin Methodist a few months ago when I was visiting family. The staff was caring and attentive, and I was out in short order. Ever since then, I have spent hours upon hours on the phone with my insurance company, collections agencies and the hospital to address inaccurate charges. A filing error and an apparently defiant billing manager at the hospital have led to a cycle of being harassed by collections agencies, having my insurance company intervene on my behalf, and then the hospital starting the cycle all over again. I work with clients in healthcare, so fortunately I know how to advocate for myself and that hopefully, 8 months later, this issue will be resolved soon. However I can only imagine the number of people who have been pressured into paying bogus charges by this hospital. Always follow up with your insurance company if you're unsure about a charge, and don't let systems like this intimidate you into paying more than you owe. read more

I just had total right hip replacement at Dublin Methodist Hospital.What a great experience from the time we walked in till we left. The entire staff that helped me (I was in room 4318) from nurses to tech to house care went above and beyond their jobs! Never had cross word, my medication was exactly on time longest I ever waited after call light was on was just a matter of very few minutes.Just love the hospital and staff. I have been in multiple hospitals in Columbus over years this one wins hands down. Excellent job that you staff!!!!! read more

I wish I could rate Dublin Methodist Hospital at 10 stars! An ER experience and an inpatient hospital admission is always unexpected - but, this facility made a visit here very supportive to our needs. The ER wait was about 2 minutes and all tests were completed within approximately 50 minutes and they advised that Dad would be admitted for observation for 24 hours. The ER staff was amazing! The inpatient STNA's, nurses, COPC Hospitalists and the volunteers were attentive, efficient and very kind. Now, lets talk about the rooms ... all private rooms and designed to be family friendly (2 flat screen TV's, a sleeper sofa and a mini fridge). Dad was very pleased with every person that he encountered during his brief stay. Big shout out to the volunteers for bringing aromatherapy to the patients. Nothing negative to say and this will be our hospital of choice for our family members. Thanks Ohio Health. read more

First I would like to mention that my previous review was actually from my ex (back when I was still with her) and decided to use my Yelp account instead of creating her own That said, she wasn't too far off, and being that I went to most if not all of her visits, I have also experienced everything she went through When the hospital first opened, they weren't that bad, and even to this day, there are one or two doctors there that I actually like, but consider yourself lucky if you get one of them, as you're most likely to get one of the bad ones, (there was one doctor in particular that I really like/trust, though his name escapes me at the moment) Most of the times we have went though, we would wait nearly forever (on a slow day/night), then be called back usually to the same room each time (a room back in a back corner away from the nurses desks), then again wait forever for a doctor, who for the most part wouldn't do anything If you happen to ever get Dr. Wilcox-White, run away (if you can) screaming, she has got to be one of the rudest doctors I have ever met, first she leaves you waiting, then when she finally comes in, she rushes through everything and usually doesn't seem to be helpful (definitely if you're in pain) And they seem to have been treating everyone like criminals lately (is this a hospital or a prison?), while it is common for emergency rooms to have metal detectors, Dublin Methodist didn't have one for the longest time (and neither did/does Mount Carmel West, and look where it's located), then just recently (maybe a year or two ago) they just installed metal detectors, I would understand if they had it installed since the beginning, but why would they have to install them within the past few years? This means either something has happened there that prompted them to have the detectors installed, or they are profiling (either racial or behavioral) If you're going for something life threatening, or because something's broken, they may help you, but if you're going because you're in pain, you're better off going elsewhere read more

This is a beautiful hospital, with all of the bells and whistles for long-term care. The staff and ER nurses were attentive and fantastic, but the ER physician was rude and had a terrible bedside manner. Choose another ER if you can, not in the OhioHealth network. This place is a hell hole. The abuse and neglect experienced by my mother was abominable. Treatment of an infection was delayed for more than 24 hours. She was discharged to a rehab center after more than a week in filthy condition having never been cleaned, with tape and EKG stickers still attached to her skin where IVs and monitors were removed. Trays of food sat for hours by her bedside with no one to feed her even though it was known she had no ability to feed herself. The leadership of this hospital should be prosecuted for failure to provide care. read more

I have a chronic illness so I am frequently in the hospital. This was my first time at Dublin Methodist last night. And I must say they were absolutely wonderful. Every nurse, med student, Dr., medic,, was absolutely phenomenal. They were very kind and explain every single thing. Even the respiratory nurse was amazing. My nurse was a very nice Chinese man named shy I believe. ,He was absolutely amazing as well. Not that I want to go to the hospital often. But if I have to go back. Filed a complaint with the BBB about their billing practices. They wouldn't even respond to the complaint. I will never ever go to Ohio Health ever again. Plus look up court documents they sue people over a $1000 I found 3 court documents in a matter of minutes. To me this is greed. I had a horrible experience at the Emergency Room here. I spent 5 hours waiting around for treatment to be told that they could not help me. At the point when they decided to inform me they could not help me, my doctor's office was closed and I wouldn't be able to return until the next day. The bedside manner of the doctors was atrocious - lacking any empathy and not sharing any information with me making me feel frustrated, upset and scared. Luckily, my DR office was able to help me the next day! When I received my hefty ER bill, the Dublin Methodist team was not willing to help reduce my costs despite the fact I was not treated while I was there. read more

My mom was transported here because she was having breathing issues again. She has a pacemaker, on oxygen, many medications and was struggling to breathe. She arrived around 10:00 a.m. and began to treat her with lasix to take fluid off of her lungs and heart. I had to call her heart doctor's office because they took her off lasix due to her kidney issues. I talked with a Dr. in ER in regards to this and he said it is a fine balance. I asked about her potassium level and he had to look it up on the computer. I asked him if he looked at her chart from March when she was in Riverside. I don't think he had; instead he was asking my 76 year old father questions that he could not remember or answer. They said she would be admitted, but there was no room available. It is now almost 6:00 pm and she still is not in her room. My dad informed me that they had not given her any of her medications yet today. She is on blood pressure medicine and they have not given it! I immediately called the supervisor in ER and her answer to me was "we thought she had her own medications with her." Unbelievable! I don't even think they allow patients to handle their own medications. So I told her I could bring her medicines right over; I am 5 minutes away because I live in Dublin. She then backtracked and said they had her medications ordered and they should be in soon and they will give them to her when she gets into her room. I told her that she needs her blood pressure medicine now, not later. It is already past her time to take it. I am appalled! I asked earlier for her to be transported to Riverside where she had THE BEST CARE in March, but they told me that they were full and would not take her. She has also not eaten all day and they've offered her nothing. The supervisor said that if she would ask for food they would give it to her. This is absurd! I am beside myself and not sure what to do at this point. They need to allow someone else in the ER to help older parents; they need advocates so things like this do not happen. I have had my COVID shot- stop this nonsense!! She is still feeling awful, and I don't know what to do at this point; except pray. More to come..... read more

My husband is a cardiologist & I am a retired nurse. I mainly worked at Duke University in the ER & as a flight nurse. We don't expect special treatment. My husband, sick for 9 months with a health decline the last 3 months. 60 pd wt loss, BP is high lying flat, drastically dropping sitting up. He is frail, weak, & cant't walk. 9 months ago an energetic working Dr. now constant c/o nausea, H/A, with many falls. Taken to the ER with a BP of over 200 systolic, & altered mental status, treated with a BP drug, after mental status improved. Every test was done, all negative. No recurrence of his Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Came home W/O BP med. Last night home health nurse took his BP, over 200 systolic, Dr. called & we were told to go to ER with a BP over 160. Went by ambulance, ER full he was sent to the ER lobby. Nurse took BP & down to 137. Sent to lobby where he laid for 3 hrs. while other people who were sitting up looking fine went back. 2 babies went back with high fever, understandable. After 3 hrs. I asked the nurse why he was being seen after other people who had not been emergent. I was told his acuity was low with his BP being !37. When you triage you have to look at the pt. as a whole & ask yourself how does he look. His BP fluctuated, with a previous altered mental status where you have to worry about stroke. I nicely told the nurse I was a former ER nurse & knew about acuity. I asked if he was going be seen soon, she said no. I nicely said I was taking him home & she said that was my prerogative. This should not be the treatment of any person this sick. I called & talked to person experience & am waiting for a call back. read more

I went to the ER with the concern that I had been drugged at a party. The service was terrible and my concerns were completely disregarded. The receptionist told me they could only test me for drugs that are typically abused (meth, marijuana, and cocaine) rather than date rape drugs. While I was disappointed that they didn't have the services I was looking for, I was mostly upset about my feelings being completely brushed aside during my visit. I asked the lady what I should do or where I should go from here to get some answers, and she said "Everywhere around here will just send you back to this ER. But you're more than welcome to take this drug test." (I knew that the drug test wasn't going to do anything for me because the drugs being tested are not in my system and aren't date rape drugs. It seemed like she was more interested in profiting off of me taking the test because she insisted about 4-5 times that I check in and take it.) When I asked her for further advice she told me to "Stay away from the guy that drugged me"................. Thanks a lot!!!!! She didn't ask me if I had been or remember being physically assaulted after being drugged or if I needed to sit down and talk through with it with a professional. But instead, she chose to victim blame me and told me to keep my distance from the aggressor. Finally, I asked for a hospital visit note because I needed one for my work, and I was refused this as well. I asked one last time "So there's nothing you can do for me and you can't point me in the direction of somewhere else I could visit?" and she said "No, but you're more than welcome to take the test here." This was a very disheartening experience. This nurse/receptionist at the ER had no compassion for me and should not be working in the health care field. I wish I got her name because I would've liked to report her to her superior. I hope other patients aren't completely disregarded at this location and have their concerns validated. This was a shameful experience at a place that should treat people with empathy and kindness. read more

Second time here. Fast service yet horrible customer service. The nurse who checks you in treats you like you're in an assembly line with no compassion or respect. An older lady who was having a bad allergic reaction was asking how much longer he thinks it'll be until she gets back to a room. The nurse started auguring with patient and going back and fourth with her while she sat in the lobby. Then he started gossiping with a rude nurse about a patient and their vitals while violating HIPPA speaking on the patients name and vitals for us all to hear. The nurses are just as rude here. Great hospital. My wife and I were planning a home birth when our babe came early. Nurses, staff, and facility are all incredibly nice. It would be 5 stars, but if you are wanting a more natural and holistic approach to birth, definitely avoid Dr Seguin! He was hands down the rudest medical professional I have ever been around. Talked down to my wife and I, and had nothing positive to say about a baby who is healthy as can be. Extremely negative and Rude!! My wife transferred to Dublin Methodist from another hospital with sever pain due to a huge kidney stone. The other hospital called ahead and had a room waiting at Dublin Methodist Hospital. After arriving and checking in, 2hrs+ later and still no dr is available and her pain levels are so bad she's throwing up. Dublin Methodist Hospital is very nice and new so one should expect it to be nice, and well maintained being that it is located in Dublin. Enough about the bells and whistle. I'm more concerned of the care of my father and how the people leading up to security guard to the check in desk person , to the nurse, and registration person up to the Doctor. As a whole hospital in the ER department. The doctor was nice and seem to be very pessimistic about my fathers care being that he's been to different ER's for the same reason. Internal hotness is his chief complaint. The doctor asked if my dad spoke english and apparently he spoke a little but he is hard at hearing that this doctor didn't even consider offering an interpreter service. Instead he looks to me and ask me for the answers bc my father couldn't hear him and note he's standing right near my father. After getting a little background he ask me what should we do with your father? I came to this hospital for help with my father not to be asked on what we should do. Isn't it your job to figure this out and figure out why he's suffering and in pain from his hotness. First off bad impression. I'm already turned off and really considering unplugging all the wires on my father and leaving this hospital. This place is like every other hospital of OHIO HEALTH! false hope and non responsive when it comes to action. ACT so I should expect one in the health care to do. Help and care for and take initiative in your approach. Healthcare is starting to feel like a joke to me. To calm him down they offer to give him a stronger dose of Vicodin! WOW pain medication for internal hotness.. what's the problem with that? Can't take noise so you shut them up with pain medicine so that this patient can have more side effects. read more

Today has totally blown my view on these folks. I have been here a few times for myself due to stupid injury (concussion, sprained ankle, sprained knee, vomiting up blood, and rupturing ovarian cyst) They've always been pretty kind to me, usually pretty quick as well, very respectful and let me keep my dignity intact, even when I did NOT have insurance. My room mate has generally been with me during these crazy times too, and tonight he needed to be seen. He's had a cyst growing IN his eyelid, it's been there a couple months, he doesn't have insurance or a job at the moment either, but over the past couple days this cyst has doubled in size and it's starting to affect his peripheral vision and such. We get there, the guy checks us in, triage... the woman asks a couple questions then pops off "Well you know this is an emergency room and uhh this is not an emergency." I kept my mouth shut but I did stare her down I used to work in healthcare. I don't give a crap if a guy has a papercut! The law states you treat a person with dignity and respect. You don't know his situation, you do not judge. You see how you can help the person and move on. We went back out in the waiting room waiting to be seen we finally get back there, the guy who brought us back says for my room mate to get in a gown (to check his eye?!) the guy leaves, my roommate decides not to get in the gown. The PA comes in a moment later, checks my roommates eye with the light they use to dilate your eyes, and asks some questions, including insurance questions which he says he doesn't have any that's why he's there. Says we'd start with warm compresses and a cream. She leaves. Then the doctor comes in, as she's starting to type stuff up in the computer, and says she's gonna run a test and such, the guy who originally brought us back comes in very loudly "GET UP BUD, YOU'RE LEAVING, GET OUT, LETS GO. I'LL DO YOUR EXAM." Now this guy is the guy who's essentially the bitch of the hospital as I call it, they do the simple easy jobs, and the dirty jobs. The doctor herself at that point had this majorly surprised look and was like, um nice to meet you guys? That's a bit quick don't you think? Wow. Anyways my room mate does the test the guy flings the papers at him and says get out. I am in disbelief of how rudely he was treated. We will be contacting their complaint line tomorrow, letting them know all of this, and if he gets a bill for any of this lack of treatment medically and the heaping dose of loss of dignity and severe disrespect, we're intending on fighting against it. read more

I had to go to the ER for a situation that ended being a two night stay. All I can say is wow. Everything is new and state of the art. The ER wasn't crowded and the service was outstanding. The rooms where more like suites. They had a comfortable couch that turned into a bed for your visitors if need be. Two flat screen TV's in every suite. No double occupancies. Single rooms for the price of a double ( and that's great when your talking hospitals) the Doctors and nurses were great. You would think I was at Disney World the way I'm talking. But no, I've been to Disney World too, it sucks in comparison. read more

From nice front desk people to the best nurses it's about 15 miles from my house but I will be going back everytime something happens. 5 years ago I thought they were going down hill when I had a tech miss my spinal cord for an epidural 6 times before finally getting it the 7th time. While the nurses in maternity were awesome and very helpful that tech is my biggest memory of giving Birth to my son. Then they struggled to diagnose my father with a stomach problem that almost killed him. But now I'm fed up, I have never misused drugs in my life in fact most of my painkillers expire with more than half the pills still in the bottle most times, like when I had my child, so when I went there a while back k and was treated like a drug user looking for relief from a three day migraine I was furious. Not to mention they never sent me a $1000 bill, i only find out about it when collections mails me so i didn't have time to apply for financial aid. A month ago i had to go in, i had a double ear infection, the doctor acted like he would much rather be somewhere else. And now I found out last night my brother went there in extreme pain and after letting him sit in the waiting room for hours they took him back and didn't help him. Treating him like an addict and saying all they will do is a urine test. No scans, nothing to find out why he can barely walk?? This emergency room is a joke. Go somewhere where the doctors actually care about helping people instead of assuming you are on drugs. read more

We recently lost our mother on Easter of this year. She went into Dublin Methodist Hospital with complications due to Hep A. The PCAs, Nurses, and Doctors were wonderful to my mother and on the day she passed they were all there with so much support taking care of our family during such a horrible time for us. They honestly felt like they were part of our family that day. Caring for her and caring for us like we were their own family. I can't remember everyone's name but I am forever grateful for all of the love and support from every staff member we encountered at this hospital, you guys were truly amazing and such a blessing. read more

My daughter was sent to Dublin Methodist E.R. because she expressed she was very depressed to her therapist and having suicidal thoughts. From the time we got back to the room area I felt like the attitude was "oh boy here is another one". As she is an adult I was asked to wait outside while they talked to her. I had no objection to this as she deserved her privacy. But while I was waiting visibly upset in the hall one of the nurses/techs was talking about how he couldn't do blood work on another patient because he was "babysitting" meaning he was watching the mental health rooms. Only the PCA even talked to me and no one told me anything but that it was going to take hours to decide anything and I should go home to wait. I dozed by the phone all night and heard nothing. My husband called to check in the morning around 6 and was told that they found a bed for her around 2:30 in the morning and she was being sent by ambulance at 8 AM. When he got there to see her and support her, he found out that she wasn't even told that they found a bed for her - where she was going - or that she had even signed herself in with the paperwork they gave her when I was out of the room. By the way she had given consent for me and her dad to receive information. Poor Communication with Patient and Family. It had to be terrifying to be shut in a room with nothing and left for hours with no news! Bad way to treat anyone let alone a depressed and severely anxious patient. DO NOT GO TO THIS ER UNLESS YOU ARE WEALTHY OR DYING. I went as the suggestion of the urgent care in the same complex because antibiotics did not stop the pain I felt from a UTI. The urgent care was stumped and sent me to the ER to get a scan for kidney stones. The ER did some lab work and determined a scan was not necessary. It took a long time but I was understanding because, as they put it, I was still breathing. They did the exact same tests as the urgent care across the street, wrote me another antibiotic, and sent me on my way (after 3 hours of waiting/being told I wasn't priority). Then the bill came. My bill breaks down to some lab fees (that's fine) and a $1,975.00 standard fee just for walking in the door. I asked one of their phone reps repeatedly what the charge was for, and they said it was the standard fee just for walking in the door. She xfered me to her supervisor who said the same thing- standard fee for daring to occupy one of their rooms. They have completely drained my spending account and are after me for another $600+. For all the same treatment I could have gotten at urgent care. Amazing how nobody had a problem telling me how non-emergency my case was, but they never mentioned that their identical treatment costs about 10 times that of a non-emergency facility. read more
