DO NOT GO TO THIS ER UNLESS YOU ARE WEALTHY OR DYING. I went as the suggestion of the urgent care in the same complex because antibiotics did not stop the pain I felt from a UTI. The urgent care was stumped and sent me to the ER to get a scan for kidney stones. The ER did some lab work and determined a scan was not necessary. It took a long time but I was understanding because, as they put it, I was still breathing. They did the exact same tests as the urgent care across the street, wrote me another antibiotic, and sent me on my way (after 3 hours of waiting/being told I wasn't priority). Then the bill came. My bill breaks down to some lab fees (that's fine) and a $1,975.00 standard fee just for walking in the door. I asked one of their phone reps repeatedly what the charge was for, and they said it was the standard fee just for walking in the door. She xfered me to her supervisor who said the same thing- standard fee for daring to occupy one of their rooms. They have completely drained my spending account and are after me for another $600+. For all the same treatment I could have gotten at urgent care. Amazing how nobody had a problem telling me how non-emergency my case was, but they never mentioned that their identical treatment costs about 10 times that of a non-emergency facility. read more

My wife gave birth here at Dublin Methodist a week ago. The staff here was great and it was a beautiful and soothing place to give birth. The halls are quiet as there are no PA systems and there is beautiful earthtones and nature pictures as well as atriums and Gardens on every floor. The rooms were great and all of our needs were met. We will most likely come here again for any hospital needs. read more

This place is terrible, came in with my mom and waited almost three hours and still haven't seen a doctor. Even worse that none of the nurses even had a clue we hadn't seen a doctor. What kind of operation are you running Ohio Health. OSU wouldn't have made a 73 year old in severe pain sit and wait three hours to see a doctor. I don't care if I'm in the parking lot of this place, if I need a hospital drive me to any other hospital. Ohio Health get your act together, this place is awful. read more

Dublin Methodist hospital emergency room has the most incompetent Dr's in the immediate area. My daughter was sent there by a Urologist for a suspected kidney stone. She was in excruciating pain. Not only were they rude to her, they told her no kidney stone (only did one test) and told her to get over it they couldn't do anything for her. They put her in a cab and sent her home. My daughter was so upset and didn't get any relief. When we looked at the release paper it said she should stop drinking alcohol and should lose weight. What????? She doesn't drink alcohol and weighs 115lbs at 5'4". Nothing mentioned about her complaint when entering the emergency room. I felt horrible for my daughter because she got no relief and started to think maybe it was all in her head. Her regular Dr. was trying to get her into see a specialist, which isn't easy to do but prescribed pain medication until she could see someone. Fast forward one week, she was taken by ambulance to Dr's West hospital and is the sickest I've ever seen someone. After a battery of tests, her pancreas and liver enzymes are extremely high and she has suspected pancreatitis. They're trying to get her stabilized to do surgery. As a mother, I'm so mad at Dublin Methodist for not exploring this further and treating her so badly. Now she's in a life threatening situation and I pray she has a good outcome. I wouldn't take my dog to this hospital and will share my story with as many people as I can. I don't want anyone to have an experience like she had. read more

I will give this hospitals 5 stars any day. My Dad was admitted here in an acute condition. He is a visitor from India and not all the nuances of the medical insurance we had for him were ironed out when we had to rush him to the hospital. E.A.C.H. individual in this hospital starting from the information desk, to registration, to the gift-shop manager, to the nurses, to the attending doctors, to the surgery nurses - EACH one of them was very pleasant, attantive, caring, efficient and outstanding in what they do. I agree with every-word that people in other reviews have written about the Hospital being no less than a 5 star facility. But most of all I am astounded by the wonderful medical service they provide. We were in the hospital for 2 days and a night and during all our time there, there was not even a single-event-single-person that brought frown to our faces, such perfect is their work-culture. In fact, we caregivers were given all the comfort and all our concerns regarding the health of our patient and others were very reasonably attended to. When a Doctor makes phone-calls to you from his personal cell-phone and makes every arrangement possible ASAP for your Dad's care; tells you to get admitted to the hospital and understanding your personal financial situation converts an ER case to a "direct-admit", and makes sure despite this the case gets the most urgent attention of everyone involved; when you see nurses stading for more than 12 hours a day with an unfading glow on their faces; when the night-staff comes in and checks vitals every 2 hours without fail; When you meet a gift-shop-manager who goes inside the cafeteria after it is closed to get chocolate-milk for your 18 mo who got ignored between all the hustle and bustle of getting to the hospital; when you are escorted to a nice waiting area given a coffee while the surgery is on; when the post-surgery recovery room nurse gives you the key information that the doc said "everything went well" inside the OR before the surgeon arrives with results; when you see your room-nurse welcoming you with a smile when you return to your room; when you see that the person from "financial services" rushes in panting in your room before you are about to vacate to give you the good news that your insurance company has agreed to bear their share, without catching a breath, you KNOW that FANTASTIC people make a FANTASTIC system!!! This was the worst brutal experience I have ever witnessed . .almost to the point of seeking legal recourse. I feel bad for having my daughter switch her hosptal for this one for her labor amd delivery. Her delivery was nothing short of a nightmare!!! There was only 1 nurse who was supposed to come in every half hour to administer med to start contractions. She git busy only in time to come hours later when the lady who's last name is brown pretty much butchered her on epidural. From the whole time we weren't allowed to talk to her or touch her or stand by her. The father went crazy for hours being told to stay away. She will probably have permanent injury to her spine and back. She was thrown forward getting yelled at amd my daughter wasn't doing anything. She is very quiet not saying a word so I always had to read her mind. She wasn't straight so they shoved her n yelled at her. Meanwhile all I saw were tears. The epidural didn't not work. During the whike time the nurse was supposed to help hold her up she was on computer with other hand covering her ass that she had been there every half hour to check. I'm so upset I can't even continue. My daughter got to the point of being non responsive from all the unsuccessful drugs she put in my daughter and was ready to give her more she even stopped and looked that she was non responsive and unscrewed the vial. I wasn't allowed to say 1 word. When she almost fell to the floor cause the nurse was on computer I had to try to grab her from falling and git yelled at.....it was all a huge nightmare!! I want that footage secured where she stabbed and pounded the needle into her back back and forth like a punch ...I've seen epidirals plus over 100 YouTube videos and what she did was less than being butchered read more

I was having pain in my ovaries and was on my period for 3 weeks so I went to this ER. It was New Years and everything else was closed. I should have gone to another ER. The wait was long (to be expected) but finally I was seen. The didn't give me any pain medication before trying to do an ultrasound. I was in a lot of pain so I couldn't handle the pressure from the machine. She then tried to perform the ultrasound where they put the stick inside you. She was very rough and when I told her I wanted her to stop she argued with me, with the tool inside me. I honestly feel as though I've been assaulted. She told me that they didn't have any treatment that wasn't pain and that even sex is supposed to hurt? After this exam I see the doctor and he gives me pain relief. Thank god. Soon after, the gyno lady comes in and is also rough with me so I have to stop that exam as well. They say its my fault and that I can't be helped but they did nothing to make me comfortable during these uneasy exams. I get that it's not going to be fun and there will always be some discomfort but you can at least pretend to care about your patients and be gentle with them. I have been a victim of sexual assault in the past so this was extremely hard for me. I walked out of that ER more damaged than when I went in and I still haven't been able to bring myself to see another doctor for my ongoing problems. I want to, but I feel traumatized. I need time to heal after this experience so all I can do it hope that my body isn't sick and in need of immediate help... Anyone in need of women's healthcare... PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I don't want this ER to hurt anyone else like they have me, and some of the other women who have left reviews. read more

I have visited this hospital and it is incredible. It looks more like a health spa or retreat center than a hospital. It is part of the pebble project www.healthdesign.org/research/pebble/ which links the healing experience to the characteristics of the facility. There are many elements of bringing the outside - in. Let me get to the point, I am a wireless access reviewer and normally I do not post until I have tried it firsthand, but I will post on the Dublin Methodist Hospital with the caveat that I haven't tested it yet. This hospital opened in January of 2008 and has an innovative digital document system, almost paperless. They provide visitors with wireless internet access in the cafe area and possibly other locations throughout the hospital. Also, unlike most hospitals, you are allowed to use cell phones. I will elaborate on my wifi test upon my next visit. (Hopefully for a meeting or a well visit). read more

Best hospital ever. Started at the ER, pleasant staff and hardly any wait to get into a room. Every nurse and doctor that entered the room was so kind and truly seemed to care. Eventually we moved to the second floor to get emergency surgery and again everything/everyone was so pleasant. After surgery we moved up to the fourth floor to the nicest observation rooms I've ever seen. They are private and have 2 tvs, a couch (w/ pull out bed) and desk. All the nurses were so helpful and made the overnight stay very comfortable. Would recommend this place to anyone! read more

I am beyond upset/angry. My mother went in to the Dublin Hospital's emergency room... at 6am monday morning... They sent her home saying she had a bad flu virus. Later on her pain escalated and was too much to handle. We took her to OSU the same day, monday evening and they did a CT scan with dye. They found she needed an appendectomy. They did the surgery and found out her appendix had already ruptured. The surgeon said they caught it just in time & we were very lucky. If we would have listened to what the Dublin "doctors" had said my mom wouldn't be in the best condition and it could have potentially killed her. Dublin should have done the CT scan to begin with... instead they just did and X-Ray..uhhh which was stupid to even think about doing considering her symptoms. I will never go there again. Thankfully OSU caught it and made sure she was alright. read more

Good care but outrageous cost. Charged "$1195.00" just for the use of the facility!!!! Overall cost was billed at $2175 to treat and wrap a first degree burn to palm and fingers. Insurance company reduced the charges to $1475 but this still included the ridiculous facility charge. A visit to this ER was DISTRESSING! read more

My wife was in for a back issue last May. They messed up my insurance so I didn't get the adjusted rate. I didn't realize until after I had paid. I've been trying to get it re-submitted to my insurance ever since. I've been on the phone with them 4-5 times. Every time they say it's already been paid and I have to go over the entire situation again. My insurance company has talked to them several times as well. Still they refuse to get my insurance proper information. It's almost like they know they will get paid less money through insurance so they are purposely doing nothing hoping I will give up and they will make extra money. read more

Pregnant mothers and why you shouldn't birth at Dublin Methodist. Here's my personal and true experience.. 2010, we found out we were going to have a 2nd son and decided on Dublin Methodist due to the relative newness of the facilities and the natural beauty that the architects did a great job creating (probably one of its only perks). We met with a doctor beforehand that we liked and had great feedback from other moms and buckled down to get ready for "the day". So, day of the birth, we arrive and my wife is having contractions fairly far apart, though we check-in. Immediately, a younger man comes up with a wheelchair to take her to her room. She sits down but immediately cries out during a contraction, the young man tells her to please sit back down in the chair. She says, "no, I'd like to walk to the room, thanks". He says "no, I'm sorry, I need you to sit down before I'll take you". This goes on about 3 or 4 times until I lose my patience and firmly tell him just to let her walk to the room (an early indicator of things to come). Get to our room, time passes, contractions get shorter, until it's time for the actual birth. We paid for a doula to help her through the birth and she arrives as well as helping us stick to the original birthing plan provided originally to our doctor (i.e. no c-section we can wait it out, please let the birthing cord "pulse", etc). At the time of the birth, our doctor is nowhere to be found (understandable, it happens..) and an older sub-doctor who will remain unnamed (likely in his 60s) comes in to take on the birth. We provide him with the birthing plan, he skims over it briefly, and gets to work. Baby comes out, immediately our doula is like, "He's clamping the cord". I immediately tell him, "sir, don't clamp the cord, please let it pulse, we want the last of the stem cord blood to move through". He huffs and puffs, though doesn't take the clamp off, "if I undo this clamp, she can bleed out". Needless to say he won't do it. The overall birth was without complication and NOT clamping is a simple method practiced for centuries. Some mothers even leaving the cord on until it falls off. The reason we were wanting it done is that Florida University studies had shown benefit in letting additional stem cell blood to flow seemed to enhance health of the baby with those studied. Anyways, later that night, I ask the nurses politely if I could talk with the doctor when he was free, not explaining what about. About 6 AM in the morning, the doctor comes abruptly into the room and (not mincing words) says "I heard from the nurses you have a beef with the way I birthed your son"? I explain to him (with my sleeping son on my chest) that "yes, I wanted the cord to stay on for a few minutes until it stopped pulsing". He replies that "he doesn't believe in these new fangled university studies and that he only practices tried and true methods of birthing" and that "if I had known you wanted this done, I wouldn't have birthed your son". I explained to him that "YES, I did have him specifically read over our list beforehand" and he shrugged and said he didn't agree to the non-clamping of the cord since she "could have bled out" and "did I want my wife to die from a loss of blood?". Again, non complication birth, about 12 hours overall, NO reason she would have "bled out" as he suggested, he just simply didn't want to do listen to our request. So that was our first experience... 3rd child, again, we decided to get an 2D ultrasound done at the hospital. I should have learned first time around. At that time our insurance wasn't that great, best I could pay for (pre-ACA) though still at a 3,000/6,000 deductible. The basic ultrasound (no kidding) was like $1200.00.. Let me say that again, the 2D ultrasound was like $1200.00. AFTER insurance negotiations behind the scene they "lowered" the payment to $750.00. Several-hundred-and-fifty-dollars out of pocket. We needed a secondary ultrasound and visited a private run firm and paid $90.00 for a 3D ultrasound afterwards. More advanced tech, at 1/7th the price. Fast forward to present, I just read on a facebook post regarding a midwife who was "not allowed" to stay in the room with her client parents. DESPITE the request of the stressed mother, they wouldn't let the midwife stay with her. I imagine because of experiences like we had where we have an advocate helping us keep an eye on what we had previously asked for in care. These statements are true to the best of my ability in recollection and while not verbatim, represent our experience at the hospital. read more

Not only this is a great hospital, it was more like a 5-star-hotel!!! we ended up staying there for 2 nights and 3 days. They treat us very nicely and took a good care of us. The staff and ER nurses were attentive and fantastic. They were checking on us every few minutes to make sure I am not in pain and I don't need anything. The room that we stayed in was very specious and nice. Most importantly, you see smiles on their faces all the time!! overall, a great experience!! read more

I gave birth to my daughter at Dublin Methodist. A couple of things that outraged me there. I noticed that the cleaning lady who came to the room cleaned everything with one and same cloth - shelves and tables in the room. Then she went to the bathroom and did shower walls, shower floor, the towel bars, the toilet seat, the sink and then the handles of the faucet and the faucet itself, in this exact order, spreading germs everywhere. She tried to do everything quickly. Another lady who came next day mopped the floor starting from the entrance door and going to the restroom, finished in the restroom. On other days I had to supervise their cleaning myself and ask them to do the cleaning properly. The other thing - the food at the hospital was absolutely nasty. Everything that was brought to me seemed to taste like warmed up, out of a microwave processed food. Since they charge so much the food needs to be fresh and organic without pesticides, juices need to be freshly made, especially for new moms and actually for all the patients! read more

My son was very uncomfortable the entire time we were waiting. He threw up a few times . He was leaning on me in the chair. He was having bad stomach pains, diarrhea and fever. The other kid on the other hand was on his cell phone the whole time. That family also arrived after we did. We waited for three hours and I kept going to the desk telling them that my son wasn't feeling well and is feeling worse. I was told well did anyone ever explain to you how triage works. He also said if I told you people could manipulate it. My son was feeling worse and worse and finally we just left. The other family being white and we being black and Muslim (head scarf) makes we wonder if there wasn't a privilege thing going on. When the person that came out to call who was next, he had an unusual smirk on his face. He also flexed his muscles. This shouldn't being going on in hospitals. It's unfortunate perhaps it's was an opportunity to discriminate . I know that we were discriminated against when it came to him making a choice between someone white and Christian and someone Muslim and black. We have a long way to go and let's not pretend these things aren't happening. read more

I go in for an xray and give them my medical card ask them to be sure I'm in network they tell me yes. Then a few weeks later I get a bill and it's way higher than it would be if it were in network so I log into my insurance page and sure enough its out of network. I contact Ohio Health and they were rude and said it was my fault for not checking with my insurance.WOW!! I'm sorry I was told by your staff who inputted my card info that it was in network. What a joke. I wont ever deal with these liars again. SHAME ON You for lying to make more money off of sick people. read more

Hands down,dublin methodist is the best hospital to have a baby!I have delivered at 3 other hospitals in columbus&this is the best experience I've had!.I didn't wanna leave bc as other reviewers are saying,it was more like a hotel rather than a hospital!.ALL staff from assistants,kitchen staff to nurses were all great.They are willing to do anything to help you&are super nice!.One of the young women every morning even asked me if I ordered breakfast yet?!how sweet!.speaking of food,they have room service,where instead of them jus bringing u some day old veggies like other places,you order what u want from a LARGE variety&they serve breakfast all day.Birthing suite is beautiful&huge!!.only thing that could of made my stay a little better was if i could have stayed just one more day!!:).other than that,it was awesome!!.no other hospital will give you better service if you are expecting,go here!!!! read more

Incredible staff and very thorough. While I didn't get to see much if the pretty parts of the hospital that are spoken of so highly, I did get an awesome staff. I went in for a kidney infection early this morning. I have had a kidney infection before, and my experience at the hospital that treated me for a (severe) infection then wasn't even close to being as thorough and attentive as the staff at Dublin Methodist. The doctor took her time, had a great bedside manner, and covered every base possible to make sure that I was taken care of properly. She asked about my life and daily routine, which may seem like general chit chat, but actually used that information to determine the best pain prescription to fit my needs. She did something similar with my other prescriptions as well and the whole time, she had a warm smile on her face. The nurses were friendly, funny, and very caring. Even the man who came in for registration asked if he could get me anything before he walked out. I have never felt as cared for in any other hospital as I did at Dublin Methodist. There are hospitals closer to me, but I will drive the extra distance again and again to make sure my family and I get hospital care the way it should be everywhere. read more
