I'm surprised they even have two stars. We live in Dublin, and wanted to stay in Dublin but other parents whose teams are in the competitive teams suggested us to advised us to start fresh elsewhere given their own terrible experience but they had to stay because their kids had already made friends. Our experiences in recreational team was a reflection of what our friends warned us. To be fair, recreational teams are often taught by teenagers, so we didn't have high expectations--but they managed to sink even lower. Here is a breakdown of what happened: -At one point, there was only one coach, Gary, for over 30 kids. This was the only thing they actually apologized for. -They switched the program days from Mon/Wed to Tue/Thu. We signed up a month in advance but were only notified two days before it started.Broken Promises: Saturday games were supposed to be included in the fees. Once we started, we were told they were canceled due to a "waiver issue." There was no formal notice or apology. Most parents only found out because they proactively asked for Saturday's schedule. Meanwhile, they charge competitive teams extra to play on Saturdays. If they remove a promised service, shouldn't they offer a credit? - We had different coaches every week. After about a month, they finally assigned the same college students consistently, which was the only slight improvement we saw. - It's not just about a shirt, but Gary kept promising they'd be ready "next week." The program ended, and we never saw them. We don't need more T-shirts but It's just another example of them cutting corners. As much as we wanted to stay local in Dublin, we've decided to drive further for a better program. This organization lacks basic integrity. Imagine your kids making friends and being stuck paying for high-priced tournaments year after year, knowing the club shamesly cuts corners at every turn. Avoid them at all costs. read more

DUFC is just a money making organization. What they promise on signing up for the league cannot be relied on. They can change anything any time they desire, no promise is honored. The leadership is constantly changing and you cannot trust this organisation for their word. When we signed up, we were told the team will have 3 trainings a week, they started with that but randomly reduced the trainings to twice a week because the coach had too many teams under them and were having a hard time managing their schedule. They are known to overload the coach with a lot of teams. As a result the practices get combined with 2 teams. How can a coach focus on each player when 2 teams are practicing together. And is that what we paid for? They do not focus on the players development even after repeatedly bringing up the concern to the coaches. The coach heavily relies on the parent coach helper. After every game, the coach just leaves, there is no discussion of what exactly a player could have improved on. No feedback given so the player knows what exactly to work on . The lower level teams are funding this organization. We had been in this league for 3 years, the 1st year was the best coach, has been deteriorating after that. We gave them too many chances and now we are just done with the way this club operates. Our season started a month late than promised and ended 2 weeks earlier than promised. On top of paying for the coaching, we had to purchase the soccer tent and chairs on our own to provide to the team. In other leagues this is included as part of the fee and their fee is lower than this club. Do not waste your money if you child is in a lower level team. read more

The whole organization is a scam. Any and every excuse they will cancel the class -- or they'll move it up 10mins before the earlier. You had a class at 6, you'll get a message at 4.20 that the class is at 4.30. This is just an example of the creative ways to make sure that most kids do not show up and the class is not officially "cancelled". In addition these creative cancellations, over 25% of classes are outright cancelled, and over 50% of the matches do not take place. There are practically no coaches, no trainings, most matches are cancelled and the "coach" Gary who IMHO runs this place is an absolutely fraudster. read more

my best friend loves this club, and always has fun with her teammate. she has made so much memories and she also gained so much confidence from being on her team. The coaches are very delight but also is strict when messing around or not trying in a drill. read more

Do not join DUFC. Just a money grabbing machine , This club focuses on quantity of players rather than improving the quality of players and because of this we have at least 4 teams while other clubs against whom we compete have 2-3 max. So if you are in the lowest level teams white or yellow which are the level 4 teams don't even think of joining , since the competition will be with higher ranked level 2 or level 3 team. This is what happened to my son's team , the yellow team he was part of lost all but one game and the worst part the margins were 0 DUFC to 15+ goals by the opponent. The boys were so demotivated and lost their confidence. Worse there was nothing the coach did to improve the skills and they even reduced the training from 3 to 2 days. There are better clubs nearby. read more

My wife and I have two kids in Dublin United FC, and we all love it. Both of our kids started in the recreation program and have since advanced on to their competitive teams. They both advanced as players, I strongly believe, because the club focuses heavily on both player and coach development. It's very well organized and run by a great group of dedicated people, who we trust with our kids completely. Because the coaches are so well trained and the managers are on top of things at all times, I rarely have to do anything besides drive my kids to practice and cheer them on at games and tournaments. Our kids train hard and often but I truly think it helps them both as players and as future adults as they are constantly working on teamwork, communication, leadership, discipline, and social interaction. We also love the community aspect of the league, as we've made (and our kids have made) some great friendships along the way. Fallon Sports Grounds is a beautiful place to play, which is a great perk to the league. If you're in the area and your child is interested in learning soccer and becoming part of quickly growing and thriving sports community, our family highly recommends Dublin United FC. read more

This soccer club is becoming less competitive, and the management is disorganized. The director left, came back, and left again. Some coaches are unprofessional, and the training sessions are very poor. During practice, some coaches just sit in chairs and text on their phones instead of coaching. Many players can join without tryouts, which makes the club lose its competitiveness. read more

The coach of the Boys 2013 Yellow team, Ren Doo, has been involved in theft and harassment. He took the team's soccer portraits, who are minors, and refused to return them until a fine for forfeiting an October 2024 game is paid on his / league's behalf. These are paid portraits by parents. Coach Ren doo later confiscated the portraits, creating a web of lies by claiming they were taken by mistake. The entire conversation between parents and the coach is documented on TeamSnap. In the days leading up to a match in Brentwood, parents repeatedly asked if they should proceed with only 6 available players, because the game was posted last minute and the coach agreed--only to forfeit a the match due to insufficient number of players?! I have contacted the organization's chain of command as listed on their website and am awaiting their response. I definitely recommend avoiding DUSL. It seems very convenient for Dublin residents but it's expensive and poorly run. There are plenty of better options in surrounding areas like Pleasanton, Danville and San Ramon and some are half the price for rec. Competitive programs for older kids may be okay in Dublin (I've never stuck around long enough to find out), but rec for the little ones is a s**t show. The league refuses to accommodate coach/friend requests even at the youngest levels and the reason they give is to avoid stacking teams, which is totally reasonable, but certain teams still end up being completely stacked. Enrollment is way down, at least compared to a few years ago when my older kids played, so they combine ages without notifying parents ahead of time. Our current rec division has Kindergarteners through 2nd graders and the league made ZERO effort to distribute kids evenly by age. The 10 minute drive to Pleasanton is worth it...and you'll save $300. read more

Horrible "company" who view themselves as some type of professional soccer team instead of for kids. Recent experience: took son to soccer tryouts for 7 year olds. Absolutely horrible experience for parents and kids alike. No coaching, no communication, no assistance for kids or parents. "What age group?" 7 "Here take a jersey, you kid is #1000. Son, go out to pitch #3 and wait ". Fields had caution tape around them keeping parents 50-200 yards away from where their child was playing. Kids thrown onto random fields and given a soccer ball. Told "go play'. Coaches watched their favorite kids and ignored the other fields. Watched two of 5 fields and gave no assistance or guidance to the others while cheering on kids they knew on a first name basis. Practice ended and the kids were told to go home. Myself and other parents had to go find the coaches and ask her what happened and what's next. Son told me kids were cussing each other out and pushing each other (7 and 8 year olds!) And coaches did nothing. This was a horrible experience and showed these coaches are llnot looking to help coach kids. Pretending to run like a professional soccer team. No thanks. Take your kids somewhere that cares and will coach and mentor them. read more

Save yourself some time, money, & frustration! It was convenient for me to enroll my daughters here but should have checked yelp before. The 09 Girls competitive coach was a joke & appeared to be incompetent in addition to not having people skills. My girls have been doing soccer since they were very young. We've been through numerous leagues as we've moved throughout the years and this one I have to say is the worst of the worst. Poor management along with unexperienced coaches. They have little regard for creating a welcoming, learning, nurturing environment. It's their way or the highway. We joined for Fall season, practiced throughout summer 2023, only got to one game (the very 1st game of the season), my girls were not being challenged their level was higher than that of the team, we made the decision to leave early on because #1 they weren't feeling the coach, #2 the team appeared to be a level lower (skill wise), #3 one of my girls got injured. Everyone was notified of our decision. I stopped paying on the payment plan. Fast forward to April 2024, we are trying to get back to soccer with another league and Dublin United does not want to release my girls until the entire season fees are paid for! read more

Save your money, this was absolutely the worst experience on all levels; coaching was terrible, and organization is super disorganized.

Dublin United has recently gained some new momentum. The biggest changes I've seen are the new DOC and the board. The club now has curriculum that the coaches are following. I've witness the number system, phases of play, technical and tactical skills being taught and used on both of my daughters teams. The focus is really on developing kids and their skills. It's refreshing to see the renewed energy in the club. Kids, parents, coaches all seem happier and the teams are preforming really well because of it. The club even did a seminar for the older teams a few weeks ago on college recruiting. I can see our future being here in Dublin and my kids benefiting from it. My daughters both love their teams, we do lots of team bonding events together. Their coaches are wonderful and the parents are super friendly. This is definitely a community we are proud to be a part of. It's true there are lots of clubs in the area and we've looked at most of them, but from what we have seen, most focus on winning and titles/status and not on development. Dublin really aligns with our values and focuses on development first. Pricing seems to be very similar to other clubs once you factor in registration, uniforms, tournament fees, etc. Fallon is also a beautiful location and nice fields with lights. I highly recommend checking them out. read more

I am sad to have to write this review, but our efforts to resolve this issue have been dismissed. We signed up our son for this soccer season back in April, 2020. We have had him in this league for at least 5 years. We had hoped the Covid pandemic would have been under control by now, but it clearly is not. The state and county have banned all youth contact sports (no games or scrimmages or any contact less than 6 feet from one another). Our coach pulled out due to Covid fears and we have about 6 or 7 kids left on the team (not nearly enough for the 11 player minimum required for a soccer team). So, we politely asked for a refund this season due to the pandemic and the fact that legally we could not play any games and we don't have a coach or enough players for a team. Todd Barnes flat out refused any sort of refund saying they have a no refund policy and always have. He said they had expenses incurred already. (We don't have a team yet, there has literally been no spending of any kind, no practices, nothing.) Obviously this is a pandemic and we are not in normal times. So, they're expecting us to just lose $500 dollars when we have no team, no coach, and legally can't play any games...? Really? read more

Our son has played for DUSL for 4 seasons now (going on his 5th). He loves soccer. Has a great time. And has made some great friends. We play Baseball and Jr. Warriors too. All that matters is that our kid has fun. I know that teams will be formed and schedules will come out. I try not to put my expectations on what they do. All I want is for my kid to have fun, meet new friends, and score some goals. He does that and for that they get 5 stars. read more

I have to be careful what I write so as to not open myself to legal action, but suffice it to say I have an extremely low view of this "organization ". My son has been involved with a number of area leagues and without a doubt DUSL is by far the worst one in my opinion. We've had issues with how the recreational league is run in each year my son has been involved (3 not including this year). It seems to me that very little effort is put into providing an quality experience for participants and perhaps the recreational league is more about making money than giving the kids a great experience and value to the parents. Unfortunately it is the only recreational league in Dublin and perhaps that allows DUSL to ignore it. At the root of my issue with DUSL is a poor response to communication. I've tried on numerous occasions to contact someone to resolve a seemingly minor issue and have not received even one response. This definitely our last year dealing with this league, even if it means my son can no longer play soccer with his friends. I advise you stay clear and avoid the frustration and disappointment of dealing with DUSL. read more
