She teaches the 3-4 yo class but noticed my daughter was very nervous and shy transitioning out of her class into the 5yo class. My daughter shows up to her class 5 min late with no teacher or any one staff trying to take her to her class. She keeps running around their huge center floor trying to find her teacher and class. Frustrated she keeps coming back to me and I tell her to go a different direction. In the mean time I go to front desk to check where her class is. This lady, Wendy, who has been on phone since we entered continues being on phone, doesn't even a knowledge us even after I keep telling her we can't find her class...15 min later when my daughter finally finds her classmates and realizes they changed the teacher that day, she drops off the phone and still doesn't ask me if I needed help and keeps looking down on her phone. I had to ask her name to write this review. She was super rude and definitely should not work at the front desk to greet clients or ensure smooth class transitions and operations. Edge Gymnastics doesn't care about their students or their staff it all about profits for them. Management elected to keep the gym open during the 1/4/23 storm where Dublin PD sent out messages not to drive and they refused to refund customers who weren't able to attend class. It's ridiculous and not customer friendly. With numerous Bay Area gym choices available I'd highly recommend you select a different gym. ***I wanted to provide an update that following my initial communications and YELP review of Edge Gymnastics management policies they have since agreed to provide a credit for the class missed due to the storm. I'd give a 2.5 if it were an option. Pluses - Nice, large space with various types of equipment. Planned drills that are skills based, and building towards bigger, more complicated moves. Negative - Clearly transactional. They're not trying to build a long term relationship with families. The no makeup policy is not realistic for busy families. Management is brusque and not friendly. Younger gymnasts are teaching the younger kids and are not always engaged, or taught how to keep an eye out on all students to ensure they understand the moves, and do them correctly. My daughter loves gymnastics! She is so excited when she gets there! But when she walks into class the teachers don't even acknowledge her existence. And I see her get so sad immediately. Then the teachers give the 4 year old students 30 instructions at the same time and tell the kids to go do it. Maybe they help if they aren't too busy chitchatting among each other. In short, don't kill your kids desires and bring them here. For the first time I asked my daughter are you ready for gymnastics and she looked down and said I don't want to go. Pros: the program and the coach. My daughter has been taking lessons with coach Shei-Ann at edge for 2 months and overall we are happy with the experience. The lessons in the class (dynamite) are fun with the right amount of challenges for 5-6 year olds, my daughter enjoys every lesson and is motivated to practice her tumblings at home. CON: the sanitation. The carpet at the training center is quite dirty and the whole room smells like stinky socks . We sincerely hope the management team can maintain a good hygiene for the indoor space and improve its ventilation. read more

My 6 year old daughter just attended five classes at this center. With in five classes there were three instructors. How can an instructor know the progress the kid is making if the instructors change so frequently. One week back , my daughter comes back home with a broken ankle. The new instructor doesnot even know if my daughter needs help. He simply asked her to perform tasks without any help. He literally ignored the wounds and other instructors at the center has to carry her back to the office. With frequent change of instructors how can a child progress. My 4 year old son has been going to Edge for a few months. He goes 2x a week and asks to go everyday. The coaches are very kind & patient with the kids. Gymnastics has been great for my sons balance & coordination. The parents of the other kids are all very nice. It's nice to go and be around wonderful people. We are very happy with Edge. read more

First off, I want to say that I never like to write a bad review unless my experience was so horrible that I felt I needed to warn others. This is one of those times where I would suggest that you find another place for your children because the management is horrendous here. I brought my kids here hoping they would enjoy the experience and maybe learn gymnastics. However, my kids didn't get much from the almost 2 years of going to this gym. They love gymnastics and actually learned more on their own in those two years of attending this awful gym. I even spoke to the staff and asked how I can get my daughter into competitive gymnastics, since she is very passionate about it, they didn't give any encouragement or provide a plan for her to get there, instead, they said that it was quite difficult. The staff could not care at all about the development of the children, it seems like they are just there to collect your money, and that's pretty much all. Since my younger daughter didn't like this place, I asked them to cancel her membership. The girl at the front desk said she would take care of it, mind you she had a few make ups that the girl advised I could definitely bring her in to the make up classes. The next month, they charged me for her again and when I asked them to reverse the charge, they said that I never actually canceled her. After going over the details with them about 4 times, they finally reversed the charges. When I brought my kid in for a make up class, they charged me again. When I spoke to Christina, the manager, she implied that I had lied about cancelling my youngest and that I lied about the receptionist telling me she can schedule a make up. This establishment could be has no idea how to speak or connect with their customers. They basically are thieves who are only there to collect $. My advice, stay away! read more

We went for a drop in class last week. Place seemed really dirty. There was a huge water spill on the ground and in the parent/waiting stands & lots of teen workers around that didn't even bother cleaning it. Lots of loud yelling across the gym by the GM to get other people's attention. Music was inappropriate for having kids around. Ehh won't be back. read more

My two nieces and their best friend are learning to do gymnastics at the Edge Gymnastics Training Center. I've had the opportunity to watch their private and semiprivate lessons several times now, though I haven't yet watched one of their group classes. All three girls enjoy learning gymnastics and like their instructors here. According to my sister-in-law, "Edge Gymnastics is a no nonsense gym. If you come here your kid is going to learn gymnastics." And that's what my nieces have come are here to do - learn gymnastics. They take weekly group classes and private and semi-private lessons every week. They are young and just starting out, not yet at a level where they would qualify for one of competitive teams, of which this gym has several. Their private lesson instructor, Mr. Vasili, teaches them discipline as he teaches them the techniques they will need to learn to progress in the sport. He runs a tight ship, but the girls enjoy their sessions with him too. Even the two first graders know that when they arrive they are responsible to find the sheets that track their lessons and progress from the files and start to stretch out on their own while waiting for their lesson to begin. They are very independent and do not need help from us to check in and get prepared. There is an area off to the side where parents can sit on bleachers or hard plastic chairs (bring a cushion) and watch / wait for their children during their lessons. There is free wifi which is accessed with a posted password. There are vending machines for drinks and snacks, though I'd love to see a few healthier options available in them. On this last visit it was over a hundred degrees outside and the air conditioner inside was not doing a great job keeping up with the unseasonably hot weather, but my sister-in-law assures me that it maintains a very comfortable atmosphere with the normal weather variations. There is a small pro-shop with gymnastic sportswear that would do fine in a pinch, but tends to be a little on the expensive side. read more

We only go here because it's closest to home and gives something to do after school. Besides that my kid is not really learning anything. She sort of just hops from one station to another, completely missing the point of the exercises. The instructor doesn't usually bother to correct the kids. Some of the instructors are okay, but most just look bored and stands there and tries to kill some time. Besides that l'm annoyed that this place desperately tries to make money through random things. On top of annual registration fee, they charged 40$ for a "mandatory" t-shirt purchase. The t-shirt came with a cheap stash. We lost the stash and the center requires us to buy a new one for $20. They wouldn't give the freaking stickers if we don't buy the arm band again. What a tacky way of making money. Will be looking for a new center once our annual membership expires. From my experience, i can tell that this place is only after your $$$, doesn't care one bit about actually teaching kids gymnastics and improving their skills. read more

This review is mainly for Coach Keith. He is honestly such an amazing coach for these young kids! My son is currently in the little ninja class (he's 5years old) which I put him in to learn balance strength and flexibility. Coach Keith is very attentive to all the kids, always brings something new to challenge the kids every class, and makes learning so much fun! I can't really say enough! Very disappointing experience today. We have been going to Edge for 2 years. My daughter has been in a specific date and time for the entire time we have attended Edge. 2 weeks ago I tried to talk to the front desk about my daughter because she is aging out of her current class to get her pre-registered for the same date and time in the class above. I was told that we cannot do that and they cannot guarantee the same date or time. Ok, so basically being a loyal customer, who hasn't missed a single session in all of our time being there doesn't matter at all? What's even worse? I talked to 2 other parents who were able to switch their children a week early and got the day and time they needed. If my daughter wouldn't be extremely disappointed to stop gymnastics, I would pull her out because I do not want to support an organization that very clearly only cares about getting paid. read more

My daughter, age 7 was enrolled for a year. On 5/5/14, she was on the high beam, when she fell down and injured her hand. The instructor gave her an ice pack and asked her whether she could find her way outside. She made no effort to help her get to the front desk, where they could have helped her locate her parent. My daughter tried to locate me on her own. Luckily I was sitting on the bleachers on the far side of the gym and it was clear to me that she was in pain. There was an obstacle blocking the exit and I had to help her get over it. I went over to the front desk to see if the ladies over there could help me splint her arm. I asked for a splint. They did not have one. I asked for a magazine. The lady who assisted me was nice enough to hand me two Bay Area Parent magazines and tape up her arm with office tape. I have nothing against her. Is it not the responsibility of the teacher to ensure that her student is escorted safely to her parent or the front desk? If the teacher cannot leave her other students, then it is her responsibility to call for another person to help the child. Is it not the responsibility of Edge Gymnastics to have a First Aid kit (beyond the free Bay Area Parent magazines) on hand and a trained First Aider on site, when there is a high risk of injury? Management tells me that Red Cross prefers them to use a magazine as a splint. But then there should be a magazine in their First Aid kit. What if there were no Bay Area Parent magazines that day, would the office lady have to scramble around for one? Their First Aid is dependent on those magazines. My older girl who was in class after the younger one left, confirmed what the younger one said, that the instructor never asked the girls to gather around so that they could help the injured. The injury was confirmed as a fracture by Urgent Care. I pulled out my girls because of safety concerns and also because I do not trust Edge to look after my girls on the floor. I am disappointed in the way the whole thing was handled since I would have thought that there would be more concern for our kids, when we hand them over to them for an hour every week. This is the second time I have had an issue at Edge. Last year I had to complain about an instructor, whom I saw talking on the phone two weeks in a row. My girls fees were refunded but I had to forfeit the annual fees (non refundable of course) which I had paid just a couple of months back. read more

I was hesitant for my daughter to start gymnastics, I was worried to pay the fee and she wouldn't like it. However, the front desk staff was great, they explained their policy and told us we could sign up for a session, if my daughter doesn't like the class, they would refund everything...some places aren't so generous. This was back in April 2018, my daughter is now in the advanced beginners class and loves it. They teachers are fun and makes class so enjoyable for her that she looks forward to class each week. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because I wish they'd have more class times that are after 5pm, which is more convenient for working parents, but this isn't a deal breaker since my daughter enjoys edge so much. read more

My 3 and 5 year old have started coming to Edge after trying out another local gymnastics studio and being very disappointed. I'm very happy with the low teacher to student ration in the pre-school classes, 6:1. I also like that the instructors are close by at all times and instead of doing large circuits with tons of stations they'll do a circuit with 2 stations and then move on on to another circuit with 2-3 stations. I feel like my children are getting great exercise and learning how to control and be aware of their bodies. We're very happy here! read more

Taking one star away. It used to be very good. Last few months, I see things are not same. - They keep changing trainer /instructor very often. Since new trainer doesn't know background of the student, he/she will not take personalize efforts. - Discussed many times to trainer/ office admin about concerns. I feel they have not taken it serious. This is what I got from the conversation. They generally consider that kids are coming for recreational purpose. That means If parents are serious, they should take effort. Once they see that student can be used in their team, then they will provide talented trainers to take efforts. We used to go to Diablo Gymnastics. Since trainers were taking class very casually and seriousness was missing, we switched to Edge. Now I see Edge is also moving in that direction. My Tip: if you are serious about gymnastic, don't depend on the institute. For recreational purpose, this is fine. Go once a week, let your kid enjoy jumps and be happy. read more

I've taken my 2 year old to this gym at least a half a dozen times, both for classes and for preschool open gym. The facility is spacious with tons of activities for younger children. The staff has never been anything besides friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Cyndy. My daughter loves her and looks forward to the days she has gymnastics. As for people saying this gym is expensive, I don't believe it costs more than any other similar gym or equivalent children's activity. My little one came here for her dance sister's birthday party. Located in an industrial park, there was plenty of parking near the huge warehouse housing the center. We walked in and Mr. Apple Juice(what his nametag read) had us sign waivers while the girls dashed off to the mats where the event had started. The group did some warmup stretching in a large circle. Then they were divided into two groups to try out the trampolines, uneven bars, and foam pit. They were running, dancing, and tumbling away happily. Eventually they were ushered into the colorful party room for pizza and cake. The host and hostesses made sure everyone had drinks and plates and took care of any trash. My daughter was sweaty but giddily happy at the end of the two hour event. read more
