There is a reason Mike has 5 stars and I just had to add another raving review about him and his service. Let me tell you, I would choose Mike again in a heart beat. One of my bridesmaids got married after my wedding and wished she would have chosen Mike instead of her photographer. It's hard to recall specific details from the wedding day (we got married 11/10/12) but I do remember Mike was easy and fun to have around that day. He went with the flow of our day and even took my suggestions when doing some of the posed shots. His assistant spent the morning with my husband and she got amazing shots of the guys too. She ended up coming back to my hotel after they went to the church and I had both Mike and Toni shooting my and my bridesmaids before the wedding. The reason some of the specific details of the wedding day are lacking is because I am a slacker and just received my wedding album. Mike provided the pictures right away, however I had a hard time choosing my photos for the amazing album that was included in our package. Mike was so patient and was there to answer questions and help get everything just right even 2 years after he took the pictures. We hired him on the spot after meeting with him for the first time. We had some really bad luck with weather when we were trying to take engagement photos and had to reschedule 3 times, but Mike always assured us that it would be fine - and he was right! Our engagement shoot turned out wonderful. We have two 11 x 14s framed on our wall from those shots. For the wedding, Mike and his assistant, Toni, showed up right on time to capture some "getting ready" photos. They came to the hotel where we were prepping first and then followed us over to the venue to continue shooting. They took every single photo we asked for ahead of time and many that we didn't. And Mike turned our photos around in record time! We were able to view them only 2 weeks after the wedding. Overall, Mike made us feel very comfortable. Originally we had planned to just ask a friend to shoot our civil ceremony at SF city hall. But the lighting specifically at city hall can be tricky so it was worth it to go with the pros: Mike and Toni of Dubnoff Wedding Photography. On the ceremony day, they showed up early, started shooting photos right away, and didn't charge extra for it. I'm rarely photogenic but with Mike and Toni posing us and capturing us at the right angles, we couldn't be more thrilled with the results. We hired Mike as our wedding photographer for our wedding in October 2010. We are NOT a young couple, getting married for the first time. This was the second wedding, for both of us, we were keeping it fairly small but did want to mark the day with some great pictures. Mike listened to our unique situation... two families being joined together. I am Jewish and my now husband is Christian. This was not your typical church wedding, it was in Martinez at our home. Mike had great ideas about where to take the photos outside, he used the backdrop of our view and trees in ways that I never would have thought of. After making the decision to elope to San Francisco City Hall, we thought it would be a good idea to hire a professional photographer to document the event. We loved them so much we have asked Mike to do another session for us when we are back in the Bay Area in September for our anniversary. I was very disappointed with Mike's service. We just received the the pictures (via online) of our wedding last month, and there were SO many pictures with our eyes closed, our heads cut out of the photo and views of people's backsides. Many of the editing looks like cheap Fair Photo Booth pics. Luckily, there's a few keepers worthy of framing. In addition to the poor photos, his attitude before our big day was less than par. He claims he's available "all day" for us, however, he complained about the time we asked him to be there on the day of the wedding. He finally agreed to send his assistant at the time I requested and THEN SHE DIDN"T SHOW UP! Then... she had the audacity to complain to my mother that I seemed stressed. Our wedding planner also asked Mike specifically not to call me during the morning of our wedding day (to call her instead), but he does whatever he wants and chose to call me anyway (right after our wedding planner said not to). Very disappointed. Definitely the biggest let down of our wedding. :( read more

My husband and I picked Dubnoff Wedding Photography after an exhaustive search for an affordable wedding photographer in the Bay Area, and have been thrilled with our decision. We had a few requirements for our photographer: they had to be able to cover our entire event (12 hours, including 2 ceremonies + reception), be able to shoot some traditional as well as photo-journalistic photos, and be able to work with our budget. We had been told by friends and family to "spend a bit more on the photos, since that's all you have after the actual wedding day"... But when you're getting married in the Bay Area, it doesn't take long to realize you're spending "a bit more" on every part of the wedding and are quickly way over budget. We were starting to get discouraged by all of the crazy expensive photographers out there, or those who maxed out at 6 hours of coverage, until we ran across the Dubnoff Wedding Photography website. On the day of our meeting, Mike took his time showing us his work and was happy to answer all our questions. We loved that he was willing to work within our budget and create a completely custom package for our wedding. While he has more of a traditional style (great for classic shots and portraits), he works with a wonderful assistant photographer Ananda, who has experience with more photo-journalistic styles. When we mentioned we loved her photos, he assured us that she would also work our wedding, along with another assistant. In the months leading up to the wedding Mike was incredibly responsive, sometimes answering emails within minutes of our sending them. On the day of, he showed up when he was supposed to, was professional and remained calm despite a rogue videographer and amateur family photographers. He was extremely organized as well, and made sure we got all the group photos and other shots we definitely wanted. Afterwards, he had digital proofs up on a website within 2 weeks of our wedding and when we delayed getting our choices for our album to him (there were so many amazing photos, it was hard to narrow it down!), he even comped the cost of keeping the photos up on the website for an additional month.
