I am in prep for a body building competition, but for a free day when the in-laws were In town from OK... long story longer, someone suggested Duck Donuts so we went on our way home from picking them up at the airport. I was not disappointed!!! Omg! I am not a fan of Key Lime anything, but the Key Lime with the graham cracker was amazing! I really enjoyed them because they were more of a cake donut and not a greasy donut. They reminded me of my childhood donut shop in San Diego, CA. I'm personally not a great fan of a lot of icing, I preferred the cinnamon no drizzle, lemon no coconut, however the Maple Bacon reminded me of the Great Maple off Washington, in San Diego. Ducktastic!! We're new to the area so we've been driving around checking out different strip malls in our area. My husband had just said, "I'm craving a donut!," when we saw Duck Donuts' storefront. We'd both heard of Duck but had no clue they were so close. After grabbing dinner nearby we popped into Duck to see what the hype was all about. As you walk in you are immediately drawn in by delicious smell of freshly deep fried dough. The concept of Duck is simple... a well made, fresh, made to order cake doughnut topped with glaze and toppings of your choice. There are menus for you to look at or come up with your own creation. I chose the lemon icing with raspberry drizzle. It was divine! The fresh, warm, vanilla cake, the tartness of the lemon, the tang of the raspberry drizzle played perfectly together. The employees were very friendly and truly inviting. I have only one concern about Duck Donuts. While I was there I noticed the prices were unbalanced, and the donut prices could differ by over 30%. Now I understand that isn't much of a concern, but I'm writing this as constructive criticism. Just came in to grab some donuts before my daughters jiu-jitsu class. I had no idea they cooked them fresh and allow you to see the process. It was really cool. The place is super clean. Toppings look and taste very fresh. So many options!! It was hard to choose our dozen. Kai was great! Super friendly. Super welcoming. She helped us select several great donuts. Thanks, Kai! So far we've tried maple bacon, plain maple and strawberry glazed. So far they're all super delicious! It did take a while to get them all done but so worth the wait. Donut miss this place!! Customize your donut anyway you want, and then they cook and glaze them to order. So many delicious options. We went 5 minutes before closing unknowingly after eating dinner at the Thai restaurant next door. We thought it was your typical donut place that had donuts premade so we picked a dozen from their pre fix menu. Not the case! Everything is freshly made right after you order them. My husband said it was like a subway for donuts, he also said they were the best donuts that he's ever eaten. I agree! They are warm and fluffy and oh my goodness yummmmm. 5 extra stars for how nice they were about us walking in 5 mins before closing time and ordering a whole dozen. So kind, I would have been annoyed if I were them and I kept apologizing. They showed zero annoyance and were nothing but professional. Definitely check it out. They are open until 7 mon-Thursday.
