3.5 stars I've been to two other Duck Donuts locations, Levittown, Pennsylvania, and Duck, NC and this location is unfortunately not up to their standards ....yet. I'm hoping someone helps brighten up this tiny place. For it being brand new it felt very used already. I hated all the taped specialty donuts obscuring the glass fell where the donuts where being made, the one fryer was out of commission and was super unappealing to look at while waiting. I have mixed feelings about the touch screen used to order my custom dozen. I liked that it showed you the true to life box of the donuts you were picking, it was a solid visual representation, however, I found it very difficult to find plain donuts like unfrosted, glazed and cinnamon sugar. All donuts are the same price so I guess they feel like you need to order an extra amount of sweet on tops the donut. The size of the touch screen, it was huge and taking up the whole front greeting space, it felt clutter, and then there's a person to the right of it to help you. It's confusing and cluttered, they literally need to more that thing outside to the front so people can walk up and just order without taking up space in the storefront. The girl that served us was very pleasant but seemly very tired from the opening rush of the store, just like the overall place. Also I thought for sure they would have a attraction like picture spot like their NC location, disappointed they didn't. The actual donuts. Overall, I like the just fried taste of them but not with too much stuff, they honestly don't need it. My daughter and I love donuts so aww saw Duck Donuts on a list and decided to try them while visiting Lynchburg. We were greeted by the employees who were very nice! Ordered our popsicle special box and waited on them to be made. I didn't realize they were made to order right there so that was cool to watch for my daughter and I. The donuts are a little small compared to other special donut shops we have been to but that's ok! I think the only real complaint, if you'd call it that, was that they were iced while still very fresh and warm so by the time we got home, a lot of the icing had melted off and onto the box. Not a huge deal tho! The actual donuts were great! Would definitely go back next time we're visiting! read more

The quality of the donuts may have been influenced by how busy they were, but for the price, the taste didn't match. The space is a little tight if youre going when it's busy. It's nice seeing how the donuts are made. It's nice hearing being greeted when you enter inside. The donuts tasted light, airy and delicious. You won't be disappointed. read more

Have gone 3 times now trying to get a donut and see the menu and every single time there has been an group of ignorant, rude, ignorant teenagers sitting in the chairs in front of the menu who have receipts in their hands showing they've already ordered, but refusing to move so others can see the menu. This last time there was an employee standing in the doorway across from the seats and she wasn't any help in regards to the menu not being available for customers. I have tried 3 different days and at different times and I never been able to get to the menu boards. I'm done trying! read more

The Lynchburg location closes at 8pm. We arrived at 7:41pm on Friday Dec 29, 2023 & the door was locked. I saw customers inside. If this is really how you're gonna operate your store then don't lie and say it's open to 8pm. The customers came out & said yeah we were allowed in for the last 8 donuts. Really! read more

Oh my. I understand how new businesses here are often swamped by locals. However that is no excuse to allow your food service location to descend into such a state of disarray. The pickup area countertops were crusty and gross, the food/topping/drizzle trays were completely mixed, with food mixed in all over and dropped into all crevices possible. Employees' gloves covered in all sorts of sauces and toppings regardless of what donut combination was being made. The floors and counters covered in everything. Receipts looked like they were dunked in sauce or grease. The employees show little to no knowledge of their menu items, having to stop to read combinations multiple times which leads to slow pickup times. I was asked what I ordered, because they couldn't find my duck donuts app order. Additionally, the layout of the building is awful. I had to visit two different counters to get my items. The food tastes ok, nothing special. Based on what I saw, I couldn't go back. But otherwise the Custer service was down right awful when I say awful I mean they were literally cursing me out! Duck Donuts opened in Lynchburg, VA today so, of course, we had to go! I remember having these donuts in the Outer Banks and they are delicious. The woman on the register was an older woman who should be put somewhere other than the register. I know this was their opening day but I assume they trained the staff before the opening. This lady was friendly but clearly had no idea what she was doing. I ordered a dozen and a half donuts and had to correct her several times when she repeated my order back to me. She was very slow with every customer. The cost of these donuts was over $41. Are you kidding me? For donuts? Then I get up to where they make your donuts and they're putting stuff on my donuts I didn't ask for. I looked at my receipt and the woman on the register messed up more than I thought. Even though I had corrected her several times she still messed up my order. Luckily the woman making my donuts was pleasant and knew what she was doing. She made my donuts to my expectations. Even though the donuts were tasty, we won't be going back because we can't afford them. No donuts are worth that price so congratulations to Duck Donuts on the opening but we'll have to buy our donuts elsewhere.​ read more
