Stopped by to pick up bagels for a friend's family -- we were in town for a funeral, so I ordered online specifically to make the stop quick and easy. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see two lines clearly marked: "call-ins" and walk-ins. The place had a buzzy, local-favorite energy, and the walk-in line was 8-ish people deep. I felt lucky that the call-in line was empty, so I posted up there and waited. I watched one employee work through the entire walk-in line, person by person. Once she finished, a man finally came over and asked if he could help me. That's when I learned there's actually a third, area for online orders -- off to the side, away from either line I could see. My food had been sitting there the whole time I stood waiting. A simple sign in line or a "have you already ordered?" from staff circulating the lines would fix this entirely. read more

My husband got a turkey and egg on a beautiful croissant. I got bacon and egg on an everything bagel. We split them so we could try 2 different meals. They were both wonderful. Eggs were perfect. What a lovely little gem. I was traveling through the area and had a hankering for a bagel sandwich. Luckily this place popped up and I gave it a shot as it wasn't too much off my path. Super friendly staff with some delicious options. Built my own bagel sandwich and it did not disappoint. Super fresh and yummy. Coffee was great and they use coffee ice cubes so your drink doesn't get watered down. Lastly I tried a maple donut. The glaze was very lite but strong with the maple in a good way. Only downside is donut was more on the cake'y side. Some people prefer that so it's just a preference. It was light and delectable. Seating area was ample enough for patrons to hang around, grab a table, or sit at the window counter area. Great place will stop in again if I pass through. read more

Upon visiting Lynchburg for the first time, I wanted an idea of the pastry situation especially donuts Blue Ridge Bagels serves a variety of both bagels and donuts among other breakfast/lunch sandwiches. They have pre-made coffee concoctions, self-serve drip coffee, and an array of beverages to choose. Located 20-mins from downtown 'Hill City' the parking is a bit strange and snug near the front entrance so be mindful when pulling in. During COVID, you are expected to wear a mask & maintain social distancing upon entry. The inside is available to sit and eat with space in between tables. The interior gives you a country, diner-like vibe. The prices are reasonable. However, the bagels aren't so great: deflated, dough is tough and the flavoring is faint. The coffee is way too watery so I didn't drink much. The saving grace for me was the donuts which had just the right amount of icing, dough was a nice balance of fluffiness and density and the taste was yummy! Not sure about the sandwich options but overall, its a nice local joint to stop by to support and grab a donut for the road. read more

My favorite breakfast spot in Lynchburg. Barry is so nice and the food is always great. For breakfast I always got the sausage egg and cheese on an asiago bagel and for lunch I would usually get The Bomb. The best part is the iced coffee. You can get a large cup of perfect coffee and since the iced cubes are made of coffee too it doesn't get watered down as they melt. I'll buy one and savor it all morning. If neither of those suit your fancy, grab a turkey, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin (it's my favorite) and count yourself blessed. With a whole sandwich menu for lunch and a different flavored iced coffee every month as well, there's a whole lot to love! The interior vibe is definitely homey and casual. It's always packed on the weekends, so if you wanna eat inside, you'll wanna come early. It's a hotspot for college students and locals alike, so there's no shortage of customers. The best part about this place besides their incredible food is the management. Full of friendly faces, the entire staff is always hyper motivated to making sure your experience is great. They make iced coffee that is excellent. As for the bagels, they are all flavorful. I had a turkey, egg, and cheese sandwich on a sun-dried tomato bagel, and it was awesome. I also had a French toast bagel with chocolate chip cream cheese... a nice, sweet treat. My wife got an onion bagel with veggie cream cheese, and she loved it.
