There was a decent selection of clearance items, and I was surprised to find that there was quite a bit of Christmas clearance left (when I was there in March). The store itself was pretty clean. Everything was organized relatively well, but there were a couple items out-of-place - that's pretty standard in retail, though. It was easy enough to find what I was looking for, and the bathrooms were spotless. Everything I was hoping to find was in-stock, and everything was easily priced and wrung up correctly at the register (including my clearance purchases). My only complaint was the check-out time. It was horrendously bad. I easily waited over 15 minutes. It wasn't a complete lack of employees, though. They opened up 2 extra registers once the line kept growing, but when the new lanes would be opened, the employees would privately ask the last people in the current lines if they wanted to move to the new lane, so it ended up not helping those who had been in the line the longest. The employee was nice enough once I finally did get to check-out, though, and she wrapped up my glasses and everything in paper to help protect them for the ride home. It doesn't seem like this check-out problem is a regular occurance, so I'll still be okay coming back to this store in the future.

I give it zero stars. I went in a little over a week ago to get a pair of shoes that were on sale…read more I didn't see any on the sales floor so I looked online and it showed they had 2 pair in my size. Great. I could find no one in ANY department to try and get service in shoes. I saw 2 people working the check out area but no other employees and I did 2 full laps around the store. So I called and left a complaint which I'm sure had great effect. That was sarcasm in case you missed it. So just now I thought I'd give them another chance. I called the store directly and my call was sent to someone in shoes. Great again. After a 5 minute wait a very helpful person took the information about the shoes (online said they still had the 2 or) and she said she would go make sure they were there and I would hold. 10 minutes later I get customer service again and I said I was holding for someone in shoes. She was talking but evidently to someone else because I couldn't understand her, but she eventually got back on the phone and asked for my name and number someone would call back. I declined her offer. They made what should have been a simple transaction for $68 into a pain in the butt purchase for $85 ( the sale is over of course) but I guess it doesn't matter because it's NO SALE period and there would have to be a very compelling reason for me to ever shop at Kohl's again. There's at least 5 other stores in the area that also have the shoes for $85, I'm going to try one now.

Kohl's - It says you're open but when I got here they said it was closed at 10p.

New useable and wearable items are handed to STUFF as consignments and that is one way how TAKE gets some fundings to pay for things like toiletries, packing tapes and more. As a VOLUNTEER, like any places where you volunteer, there is a 'hierarchy' which means pleasant and unpleasant people. There is no teamwork here, you go in and inspect and hang clothings during those hours that they are open. There is a sign-up schedule. There is no pricing to tag on items at all which makes this easier. You are taught by others who share the same inspecting and sorting tables and where to hang the different sizes and types of clothing. Some volunteers do not follow 'orders' from the leader or the system and at times, make their own decisions when there are doubts with the conditions of the items. As a SHOPPER - 'Some do not adhere to the rules on how many they can take to fill the grocery bags that are given at the door upon entry. Personal handbags and grocery bags are not allowed while 'shoppers' are browsing and selecting. There is also a limit on how many times you and your family are allowed to shop. You fill out a short form before you are given the bags. Little children are best left at home for shoppers to concentrate on what they need and want. As Christmas draws near, they have a small corner of the store designated for Christmas gifts and decorations. Hours are short from Monday through Friday. I salute the leader of this organization for taking on this undertaking as it is A LOT to deal with. The whole organization is a volunteer based.

We were calmly looking at Pokémon cards when a service manager approached us with immediate attitude and told us to leave, without offering any clear explanation. He had little ma syndrome guaranteed. From the start, his tone carried a level of animosity that was definitely unneeded. When we politely asked what the issue was, he responded in a condescending and dismissive way, even saying we were "beating around a dead horse" instead of handling the situation professionally. It was very surprising to see someone in a manager role or at-least he claimed to be one acting in this manner.  We remained calm and tried to address his behavior respectfully, explaining that the way he was communicating was unprofessional and that most customer service interactions are handled with basic respect. He got very flustered after we remained calm throughout this situation. Instead of de-escalating, he became visibly aggressive and increasingly confrontational. At one point, he even threatened to call the police over us simply looking at Pokémon cards, which felt like an extreme and unnecessary reaction.  He then escalated things further by calling someone and claiming he had asked us to leave "9 times," which is completely inaccurate. That kind of exaggeration doesn't exactly inspire confidence in how situations are handled. After wards we talked to his higher up and it seemed like this is a common occurrence with "it". "It" definitely has little "it" syndrome.  This felt less like reasonable policy enforcement and more like an overreaction from someone unwilling or perhaps unable to communicate like a civilized human. Hopefully this is not reflective of how management is generally expected to behave here, because if it is, that's concerning.

I have two types of cargo shorts and dress shorts. I even have a bunch of Duluth underwear! The pic I posted is a simple Henley T that is about seven years old and has been washed a bazillion times and still going strong. I've never lost a button and it's never frayed or had a ripped seam. It's great for banging around town and running errands. Their stuff is solid beyond words albeit a little pricy, but the value is there. Duluth is primarily a catalog company that of course has an online presence and that's how I make my purchases. So, what about the store? I suspect a visitor unfamiliar with the product would give it four or even five stars. It's clean and beautifully merchandized. The customer service is just fine. There is easy access to the online catalog if you need it. For me, as I'm so comfortable with the product over so many years, the store doesn't add much. However, because the product is awesome and the store is picture perfect with great service, I'm going with five stars!
