The technician diagnosed the issue and attempted to connect a compressor while I stood there and watched. Afterward, I was told the compressor was not the problem, the unit still would not work, and the compressor was disconnected before the technician left. Later, I received a text stating that additional repairs totaling approximately $2,100 were needed to fix what was supposedly wrong with my system. Because I was concerned about the diagnosis, I contacted another HVAC company for a second opinion the very same day. That technician connected a compressor, and my AC unit started working immediately. As a homeowner, it was frustrating to be told that the compressor was not the issue and that I needed over $2,000 in additional repairs, only to have another company get the unit running by connecting a compressor. I can only speak to my own experience, but based on what happened, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving expensive HVAC repairs.

Mind you we sat all day waiting, and had things to do to prepare for an upcoming trip cross country. I called Pride Mechanical on Sunday and left a message on their non emergency voicemail. They called me first thing Monday morning, and we set up an appointment for a timeframe that worked with my fairly busy schedule for that day. Really convenient. Got a text saying they were on their way about 5 minutes after the 3 hour appointment window started. They were at my home in like 20 minutes after receiving the text. The inside of my house was kind of messy, but they didn't even need to come inside. They were able to go straight to my units and start their diagnostics less than 3 minutes after arriving at my home. Within about 15 minutes they had successfully figured out and fixed the problem. I could not have asked for a better experience. I was very grateful and impressed. The technicians were polite, friendly (and not aggressively friendly if you know what I mean), and did a great job discussing my HVAC system and answering my questions without getting overly technical or insulting my intelligence by being overly basic.
