We discussed my plans and needs and he was extremely knowledgeable and informative of the entire process. At no time did he ever push something on me, if anything he advised of practices to be weary of with ANY installer I should choose. He explained clearly what sets Miller's apart from the competition and I must say that even if I don't choose to use them for this specific project, I will be a future customer. Chris came out at our request for a replacement HVAC system since we had been told by a previous company that our current system was dead. He asked the right questions and assessed the old system. Upon his assessment he found that our current system was not dead Just needed some refrigerant and a new flame rod. Be careful with Mr. Comfort Heating & Cooling. Two years ago, they installed a new natural gas forced-air furnace in my home. Recently, the system stopped working. When I called them back, they charged $89 for a service call. After checking the system, they told me it would be "better" to install a condensate pump for the HVAC. The next day, one technician came and installed the pump in less than one hour, but they charged me $900. I later checked online and found the same condensate pump costs less than $60 to buy. That means I was charged about $840 for less than one hour of labor. They did not tell me the price in advance or get my approval for that amount. In my opinion, this feels like a serious overcharge, and customers should be very careful and ask for written estimates before agreeing to any work. read more

Paid $637 for three people to look at the AC unit, 1.5 weeks, and it still not fixed. The they are asking for $900 more dollars to replace the refrigerant and fix a leak. It took three people to figure it out. They have multiple people work the messages so not everyone is on the same page. They said they saved me $1000 on labor on their mistakes. Go to Home depot when they do a free diagnosis and have upfront prices, and they have prices set up before you agree to pay for their services. The thermostat was working fine and there was airflow before they looked at it and after they installed there equipment I'm literally at square one. They are going to say the problem is bigger than it really is and up-charge you. Not Military friendly, gave a 10% discount and they took it back. On an invoice that was discussed. If you don't check or ask they will sneak in extra fees. They tried to charge me twice. I hope this helps all the military veterans that is struggling financially and is trying to get by. read more

After my first review, I received a call from the company and Ms. Sherry talked to me about the day I received the service because she remembered it granted it was a couple months ago. I waited a couple months to post the review because I like to wait it out once a company in my eyes receive a less than stellar review, because I don't like to make reviews out of anger. Ms. Sherry apologized and let me know that the gentleman that came out was no longer working for them and was a fairly new employee at the time and wanted to right the wrong, and we talked about the entire situation and I'd like to say that this company, while having that hiccup with me, is a company based around integrity. There was no trying to make excuses whatsoever on their part. We had a great talk about the situation and how it could have been drastically improved. I realized that me not calling the company as soon as this happened, to question the situation was a wrong on my part, because how are they to know what is going on without direct communication with the customer? I wrote a review a couple months after this happened yet I could have taken some initiative and let them know what was going on sooner. Overall I am 100% willing to give this company another chance and will do so in the future. Outstanding service. Just two words but it sums it all up but with this being Yelp I will go a bit more in depth as to why. We do an inspection of our HVAC twice a year and have had Chris perform it numerous times. It is not overstating it but he is very professional and most important always on time. On his visits he always takes the time to explain what he was doing and I learned a few tips and tricks to be more efficient. Also he spoke of an energy saving program where if you buy certain equipment or get certain service you can actually get a little check back from the state of Virginia as part of an energy efficiency program. No tricks or sign ups just turn in that you are performing maintenance or show that you have certain equipment and send it to the State. Checks in the mail to you and its little tidbits of information that are actually helpful to a person that is great. Who doesn't love a little money coming back into your pockets. On one of the visits he found an issue from when the house was built that was constricting air flow left by the builders. Can't get more thorough than that. If you are looking for efficient service look no further than Mr. Comfort and you will feel comfortable with your choice. Saw what I did there. read more

I think it's an entry in the book of chaos that your HVAC will stop working on the hottest or coldest day. For me, on one of the coldest days my HVAC stopped working and I awoke to brisk cold air instead of my alarm. I reached out to two other HVAC companies I've used in the past and didn't get timely call backs (one not at all). I had sent an inquiry via Yelp and had some background information on Mr. Comfort in January and decided to give them a call. Brooklyn answered and was very happy to answer my questions and was able to have a representative to my home within 90 mins. Appointment was set for 9:30 am but Jarren showed up earlier and ready to work. He respected COVID safety practices and work a mask while working and explaining his findings to me. He tirelessly climbed from my attic to the back yard and back to the attic with a sense of determination to get my unit working properly. There was a thorough explanation of what caused the issue, the fix and the price. I think we all hold our breath on urgent service calls and I calmly waited for the sticker shock. Nope, very reasonable. So reasonable that I opted for their extended service agreement (ESA) and will be calling this week for the maintenance on my unit to ensure my summer days are not fry-days. With an ESA, you receive 15% off of your services. I do recommend calling to schedule your seasonal check/maintenance now as they will get inundated with calls and many businesses only have a few technicians available. There were recommendations made and from past experience, having needed the recommended service before at another location; my technician was honest and focused on service not sales. You can pay by cash or credit card to your technician or call and pay over the phone. I look forward to continuing to do business with this company. read more

I'm leaving this five-star review without having actual service from Mr Comfort because they were just so good! We called to get a standard service contract for our new house, since we knew the HVAC was older and needed cleaning. Lo and behold, it had a fatal flaw and had just started silently leaking carbon monoxide into the house, which the tech said would have killed us and our pets over the winter. Holy shit!!! The tech stopped his work immediately, capped the gas line, reported it to the city, and told us any other company who tried to simply repair it would be doing fraudulent work and that the unit needed to be replaced in full. The tech very kindly spent over an hour here, giving us so much good info about BTUs, air flow, equipment, things to watch out for, advice for the home warranty repair, etc etc etc that we had to get out paper and pen to take copious notes. And he wasn't making any money off this! We had to go with another company from our home warranty for the replacement, but now that that's done, we are going back to Mr. Comfort for all future servicing. My husband and I have been with Mr. Comfort for a few years now, we are signed up for their twice a year maintenance work in the winter and summer which we love! Because of this we have worked with a few different techs from this company and every single one of them have been great and went above and beyond, which is rare! My husband is in the Navy and is about to deploy and stuff ALWAYS breaks when he's gone so when we found out our HVAC was going to need replaced within the year we decided to just do it now before he left so it didn't break while he was away. We talk to Brookelynn and she was helpful and friendly; as always :) She got us scheduled really quick and Chris showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable and helped us decide on what the best route for us to take would be. We ended up converting from a hydronic unit which was a huge headache to a heat pump unit, so it was a pretty big job. We were so worried about the cost but the price he gave was SO much better than we thought it would be and they were out here within 2 weeks to get the job done! Damon and Akeem showed up on the 27th (a few days after Christmas) on a super rainy day and worked all day long to get our stuff done. The work looks very neat and everything is working properly. Damon explained everything to us very well before he left. Akeem, his assistant, was a super hard worker too! I'm not even sure they took one break the whole time they were here. There was a small issue with the Freon container they had in their truck so they weren't able to do that part but the very next morning Chris showed up and fixed the issue and made sure everything else was good! He even installed a few dampers to help our unit split the air throughout the house better. All their work is under warranty for a whole year which is an added bonus too! Gives us peace of mind even though we have yet to be disappointed with their work or need them to come back out to fix a mistake. We feel lucky to be their customers! My husband feels better too knowing the HVAC will be taken care of if anything should happen while he's deployed. One last thing, I love that they wear shoe covers in the house! I'm really big on no shoes in my house and they all are very good about wearing them when they are here :) read more

I cannot recommend Mr. Comfort enough! Had a horrible experience with another local company over the summer regarding my AC unit so naturally when I had problems with my heating occur I definitely wasn't calling them. Called Mr. Comfort to check on the performance of my furnace as my Google Nest said it wasn't performing correctly after some cold weather last night. Mr. comfort said they could have a tech out this afternoon. Amazing! I received a call 2 hours later that they had earlier availability and could have a tech to my house in 30 minutes. Perfect! Chris promptly arrived and after a quick look at my unit it was evident the company from the summer did subpar work and the source of my problem was that they hadn't fastened the door on my unit properly. He was quick to just screw it back on at no extra cost of the diagnostic fee. Chris went above and beyond when I mentioned my mother in law thought she smelled gas in my house over the holiday. He checked for a gas leak at the furnace (as well as refrigerant from that AC work) but there was no leak. I asked if he could check the water heater lines since he was already here. Sure enough he located a fitting that was only hand tight with a big gas leak. After grabbing a wrench and taking care of the real danger to my home. Chris was on his way. Entire visit was maybe half an hour. And at only $130 (diagnostic and small price for gas fix) it was well worth it! Will definitely be recommending Mr. Comfort to everyone I know and utilizing them for our tune ups and any other needs that arise! No BS company, I can appreciate a straight shooter. Our AC went out sometime over night so when we woke up in the morning it was quite warm. We reached out to Mr. Comfort and they responded very quickly with their diagnostic cost, which I believe was $88 and several available times THAT DAY that they could come out. We had two gentlemen out just after 12:00pm. They discovered the compressor went bad (unit is just about 6 years old). They had the part with them, replaced it and cleaned off the unit and got the AC working all under 45 mins. No upselling, which we really appreciated. Was looking for an estimate for a tankless water heater and they didn't disappoint. I was happy the estimate was free so we could weigh our options and they listened to every concern and were very honest about the best placement. Turns out it was a blown fuse and was fixed for $10 by my neighbor. They also said it would cost $600 to Hook up a duct vent to a receiver in the crawl space which literally takes 30 seconds. My wife and I got home on a Sunday evening, I called Mr. Comfort at 8am Monday morning and a technician came over by 9am, diagnosed the issue, and had our AC unit up and running again in about 20 minutes.
