I'm always wary about having people move my stuff because my one thing is the belief that no one treats your things like you would treat it. Well low and behold, my friend referred me to him to move stuff into my new place and I have to say it was a very smooth transaction. I hate moving, I don't own a truck and its such a hassle asking one of my friends to borrow theirs because then I feel unneccessarily indebted to someone. He was very patient and easy to get a hold of, he was very responsive and the communication through text was very convenient. He showed up on time, did the job well above my expected time, and all within a reasonable rate. Everything was awesome, he was even more careful with my things than I would have been. Our glass coffee table cracked on one side, and we had no idea whether it would smash or cleanly break if we moved it, so I reached out to Fabian (messaging on yelp) and after a little back and forth, agreed on a price and set a time for him to remove the table. I had also contacted a handful of other companies, and they either had ridiculous minimums for such a small job or were bad about getting back to me. They are extremely punctual - I had to have a fridge moved from a friend's place to be delivered to my work, they arrived on time, loaded the fridge (after painstakingly having to remove the doors to fit it through the doorways) and drove it 25 miles to my work. This company is amazing! I called them based on their great Yelp reviews and just received 5-star service. We had 3 couches that needed to be moved to the dump ASAP. Fabian answered the phone, and when I told him I needed them picked up within two days he said he could come over in 30 minutes! And he did! After a rather last minute craigslist sofa find, I had the daunting task of finding last minute movers last Saturday morning--the final weekend of the month, too, when everyone's moving. No one seemed to be available... but lo and behold, within two hours, I had a sofa moved from Mid-City to Los Feliz. I was so happy! The best part was handling all the details by text. I hate phone calls. Details are usually missed and you never know if the other party got the voicemail, etc. etc. etc. With texting, there's specific details, time stamps, and a written record. In a matter of minutes of my text request, Fabian answered with a quote and time frame (he was super speedy!), and he kept me updated with a text when he was on his way with the sofa. I called Dude With Truck last week because I needed someone to move my refrigerator and twin bed to my storage unit. I needed them moved by yesterday (Monday, July 29th.) The guy told me he would do the job and we agreed on yesterday at 11:00. Yesterday morning (7:30 AM) he called me to confirm our 11:00 AM appointment. He told me he would be here at 11:00 AM. He and his helper actually arrived at 10:45 AM Although I would've been happier with a lower price (because afterall, I am only human,) the price (120.00,) was reasonable. During the confirmation call I told him him I had to add my computer desk to the job which he only charged me an additionl 20.00 to add. I told them that once they got the items up to my unit all I would need for them to do is to wheel the fridge into the unit (I had a space already cleared for it.,) and that I would load the other items myself. Once they put the ice box in the unit they still offered to help me with the other items. The guys were prompt, professional, affordable, and very friendly. I highly recommend them to everyone. PS. I had priced another independent hauler whom I stumbled upon at a local Home Depot lot, and that dude wanted ti charge me 255.00 for the same job. read more

I emailed him a complete and accurate list of stuff late one evening. He replied via text the next day with a quote. I accepted what I felt was a fair price via text. (98% of our business was done via text message. He replies promptly. I had a question or two between our agreement via text and the date, because I thought might get rained out. We didn't.) These guys are great! They showed up on time and emailed/texted several times to confirm day in advance as well as morning of. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because they originally quoted me $250 to remove 4 pieces of living room furniture, but on the day of he asked for another $50 to "dispose" of the furniture. Perhaps they thought the furniture was re-usable but was not. In any case, the extra $50 was fine with me, but he should have quoted me $300 in the first place. I've used other haulers - both commercial with multiple trucks and local one man one truck and a trailer operations. For the price quoted I could have gotten a mid sized truck of a dedicated commercial junk hauler. As I stated in my review - you took the best furniture - worth at least twice or more your hauling fee if you sold it secondhand, clean and perfect, as I felt sorry for you. It's not up to me to look at pictures of your truck. I stated very clearly it was 3 full bedrooms worth of hauling, and you signed up for that and then walked away from the job. read more

Dude with truck was awesome! He got tied up on a far away job on the day he was supposed to come by, but called me in advance with enough time for me to make plan changes which I appreciated. I cannot tell you how many times a service person has either called well after the time they are supposed to show up to say they won't be able to make it ... or just don't show up at all! When he arrived the next day on time, the brick debris haul load was WAY heavier than we BOTH had anticipated. However, he was cool. We negotiated a fair price adjustment and he made two trips to get the debris out of the alley behind my house. He saved my a** with the city (a fine was pending).
