I found two charges on my bank statement, from the times they had held my card, even though I had paid in cash. I had not signed the receipt. Last time I was in there, the "night manager", asked me for my card. I told her I couldn't do that, since twice, I had been charged even though I had paid cash. Her response was "I still have to have the card because "I don't know you". She did not bother to check with any of the other bartenders, to ask about serving me previously. She also did not bother to even look the least bit concerned about the charges. She took the beer with both hands, raised her voice somewhat and said "then you can't drink here", making sure to inject some drama. The whole encounter demonstrated a COMPLETE lack of people skills, and an immediate willingness to be confrontational with regard to anything other than, "SHE" did not know me, without any attempt to do anything other than bully, control, and disregard the problem with the card being charged. You have to go out of your way to disrespect somebody to treat them that way, She was right about not drinking there. Putting someone that lacking in people skills coupled with a personality quick to escalate to confrontation in a management position, tells me all I need to know.

I reached out to get a full refund...to now use this money towards her headstone... but all I got was a lack of empathy! They are not understanding at all, my heart is broken, my mom is gone and all they care about is a contract. Contracts can be amended....if you choose to do the right thing...as this was out of our control. They chose to stick to their guns and look the other way. I had already paid $921 towards her party....after several weeks I received a partial refund of $361...I really don't understand why a full refund could not have been issued, as they still have 9 months to rent their venue out. This venue is nice.....but I would think twice about renting this place out....because you will not be refunded if one of your loved ones...are to die or have an accident. No empathy, no understanding, and no heart.

The Airstream trailer being used as a stage was quite clever. There was another large red truck against one wall. Not sure what it was used for, and I forgot to take a closer look. There was also a pool table, maybe two, which many guests took advantage of. The line at the (cash) bar got quite long at times, and it actually deterred me from getting a drink. I only saw one bartender at the bar, so I stuck to the self-serve iced tea. Being a cash bar (i.e. not open), I would have thought it would have been staffed better. When prompted, we lined up for food, and were served. I thought the servers did a good job and gave off a friendly vibe. I'm assuming the food was catered, in-house, by Red's, and so your experience may differ based on the menu. I thought for what it was, chicken and beef tacos, with beans and rice, it was a little sub-par. Not horrible, just not all that great (for being in Texas). Also, the re-fried beans seem to have been a little scorched, leaving a slightly funky flavor. Apparently, in the past, Red's used to be a full time restaurant and bar. I think they lost their touch, or maybe never had it. I would seriously consider other food options, or perhaps have it catered from outside. It would be worth the extra fee. So, as a funky Texas event space, A-OK. Bottom line: Good choice if you are looking for a road-house feel for your special event.

Making serious accusations against customers without documentation, then refusing to provide proof while publicly banning and embarrassing them, is incredibly unprofessional and poorly handled management behavior.
